Hi,
I am looking for information om the surname Reul, Reuijl.
Can somebody tel me more about there history.????
They de have living in the area form Frankfurt - Hanau - Wetterau.
They were French Hugenots. One of theme came to holland as a soldier
in the year 1695/1710. His name was Jan Joost Reuijl out of Wetterau.
Last summer in was in frankfurt but I coldnot find anything from him.
In Hanua i found thomething but the big question is were in Wetterau
he can be lived....
How knows thomething abut this name en will help me....

Hi Charles,

I have a little information about my relative Johann Jost RUHL, born 1690.
His parents were Jost RUHL (b about 1650 d about 1698) married Catharina
(d 1696) in 1675. They had nine children - Johann, Adam, Elisabeth, Anna
Margaretha, Johann, Philipp, Johann Jost, Johann Christian and Johann Jorg.
Jost RUHL's second wife was Elisabeth BERNHARD from Mittelhofen, their
child was Anna Catharina. Jost RUHL and his family lived in Elsoff.

Jost RUHL's parents were Johannes RUHL(b about 1616 d about 1666) married
Catharina THILL in 1633, with four children.

I am descended from Philipp RUHL, Johan Jost's brother, and have a family
history to date.
