I am trying to locate where in Germany my gg grandfather came from. All
information to date only list "Germany" as place of birth. I am seeking
any help, ideas or thoughts you could share as to a good next step.

Frederick C. Pfeiffer b: 7 July, 1869 in Germany.
Parents: John Pfeiffer and Eva Fritz.
d: 18 Oct. 1913 in Dayton, Ohio
(death certificate).
Fred had at least one brother, name unknown

Fred came to USA July 1891 via Antwerp, on SS Noordland age 22
(passenger record).
Married: Caroline Fritz, abt. 1893 in Dayton, Ohio.
They had one son John David Pfeiffer, b: 10 Aug. 1894. d: 23 May, 1958
More Facts:
5 Nov. 1894 filed 1st Naturalization papers, 16 Feb. 1898 became citizen
of USA (copies)
Family stories indicate he may have come from either the Frankfort or
Dusseldorf area of Germany. (no record without place of birth from
either "Nordrhein-Westfälisches Personenstandsarchiv Rheinland" or
"Hessisches Hauptstaatsarchiv" in Germany.
Without his city of birth there are just to many Pfeiffer names to
search to get a match. Fred was a "Luthern" here in USA, if that is a
help.
