You can obtain the postal code (D-53179) from the world wide web, at the
following URL:

http://www.nads.de/WWW/PLZ.html

Please note, if you plan to contact the embassy concerning consular records
from the late 1940's, that such records are no longer at the embassy.
Surviving consular records from this period will be in the custody of the
State Department, either among office files or, more probably, deposited in
the National Archives, who should in any case be your first point of
contact.
