Searching for any info on SEILER surname in Switzerland or Germany. So far
no luck - must be an uncommon name. Have some documents placing them in
Switzerland in 1600's, but traveling to Germany for while to escape canon
wars. Any lists, groups, websites for me to follow up on? I am currently
looking into Swiss maps for exact locations. Any help??? Thank you :)

Dear Barbara Seiler

Seiler (rope marker) is a well known name in Switzerland.
E.g. in the Canton of Zurich the name is known in the following towns:
Dietikon, Dienhard, Moenchaltorf, Sternenberg, first written source 1249
Winterthur (ref. Zuercher Familiennamen).
In the town of Schaffhausen known since 1299 (ref. Chronik JJ Rueger)
