My name is Mark Schlichenmeyer, I am interested in information on my
family history. My father was born to Lester & Isabel Schlichenmeyer
in La Crosse Wis. He was the son of Christ & Minnie Schlichenmeyer.

This is all the concrete information I Have. Other stories I a have
heared are as follows.

Christ's father brougth his family to the USA. In the Mid 1800's.
Christ had a brother who ended up in Bismark North Dakota, via Canada.

I have been told by one of my uncles who has done some research into
the family history, that we origanated somewhere between Bonn &
Cologne.

If any can help, I would appricate it. As my grandfather passed away
in may and little is knowen about the family history.

please e-mail me at jean...@mail.idt.net
Thanks in advance

First step: Talk to your uncle. He may know a lot already. Talk to
any other oldtimers you can get hold of.

Second step: Go to your library and check out a book or two on how to
do genealogy.

Third step: I'd try the US census first. It will tell you more
precisely when your ancestors came to the country. It will also give
you the ages of all of your aunts and uncles, great and otherwise.
It may also lead you to naturalization records that might tell you
where your ancestors came from.

Good luck!
