The passenger list for the THISTLE, of Glasgow (Glasgow is the port of
registry, not part of the vessel's name), is analyzed in Fritz Braun,
"Auswanderer aus der Umgebung von Ludwigshafen a[m] Rh[ein] auf dem Schiff
`Thistle of Glasgow' 1730," _Mitteilungen zur Wanderungsgeschichte der
Pf"alzer_ (Beilage, _Pf"alzische Familien- und Wappenkunde_), 1959, Folge
3/4 (also, as separate publication, in Schriften zur Wanderungsgeschichte
der Pf"alzer, 8 [Neustadt an der Aisch: Ph.C. W. Schmidt, (1959)],
reprinted in Carl Boyer, _Ship Passenger Lists, Pennsylvania and Delaware
(1641-1825)_ [Newhall, California: the author, 1980], pp. 125-141).

Braun (Boyer edition, p. 128) indicates that Johann Peter Ohler came
alone, and was originally from D-67149 Meckenheim, about 7 miles northeast
of Neustadt an der Weinstrasse, although shortly before emigration he had
served as sponsor of Johann Peter, 5th child of Johann Nickolaus F"usser
(who also emigrated on the THISTLE), who was baptized in D-67454 Hassloch
on 5 April 1730 (Boyer edition, p. 132; Annette K. Burgert, _Eighteenth
Century Pennsylvania Emigrants from Hassloch and B"ohl in the Palatinate_
[Worthington, Ohio: AKB Publications, c1983], p. 8).

For the ancestry of Johann Peter Ohler in Meckenheim, check the registers
of the Lutheran church at Hassloch (from 1700, Family History Library
microfilm #0488291), and the registers of the Reformed church at
Meckenheim (from 1678/1683 baptisms and marriages/burials, Family History
Library microfilms #'s 0193045 and 0193046).

You do not indicate where in Lancaster Co. Johann Peter settled, but if
he, like several other passengers on the THISTLE, settled in the town of
Lancaster itself, check for his marriage and the baptisms of his children
in _Trinity Lutheran Church Records, Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Volume 1,
1730-1767_, translated and edited by Debra D. Smith and Frederick S.
Weiser (Apollo, Pennsylvania: Closson Press, 1988).
