Hi there,

In the Netherlands there are several families with this name. They
aren't all related as yet, however some trees go back into the 16th
century. There is a rather active group of genealogists busy with
researching these trees, they uphold a regular contact via a specific
mailinglist. We know a lot of our dutch (sometimes german) ancestry,
we lack however knowledge of the whereabouts of emigrated kin to i.e.
the U.S., Canada, New Zealand, etc.

If anyone knows anything about people of this name, would he or she be
so kind to let me know? I will inform the mailinglist with all
investigators.

Ciao and greetings from the Netherlands,

Lex Bennink

My grandmother was a Bennink descended from Jan Willem Bennink who
emigrated from Winterswijk, Gelderland, NL to Clymer, New York, USA in
1847. There are a lot of Bennink descendants living in the Clymer,
New York, USA, area.

You can access the Australian phone directory at www.whitepages.com.au and
there were at least 10 Benninks there in various states. I could not find
any in the NZ white pages [and most people have a phone connection].
