Hello,
For a few years now I have been using FTM software & at present I am
using V.10. My problem is that I've just changed operating systems from XP
Pro to Windows 7 Ultimate. which doesn't allow me to use V.10. does anybody
know which Version I would need to work with my new operating system? Or
failing that, do you have suggestions for other software I could use?

FTM and wanting to look at other programs.

I have a copy of FTM2005 (which, I think, is v12) that runs fine on Win
7 Ultimate. There are copies of FTM2005 to be had for a song, if you
don't want to use anything else

Actually Rootsmagic only recently announced an
entirely Free version called Essentials - its not
really a trial - just doesn't have all the
features - there is a comparison on the site.

Why not try the absolute best? You can download a fully functional
version of The Master Genealogist v 7 at http://www.whollygenes.com
which you can use for 30 days before buying it. If you decide to keep
it, simply send them your credit card number and they will send you an
access code which will make it yours. Version 7 was written to work
with Windows Vista and it works on Windows 7; version 8, which will be
released in 2010, will work on Windows 7. I think TMG is wonderful;
it does everything you might wish, there are no limits, and reports
can be created that read any way you want them to read. Another
program, SecondSite, will make a beautiful web-site within minutes
from your data.
