Hi Lorraine,
I think you will find that Cornelius Vermuyden was noted in England as
the engineer who was responsible for draining the Fens in
Cambridgeshire. Suggest a look at Cambridgeshire Archives in Cambridge.
Regards,
John

Dear Lorraine,
The Working group Blasijntje Danckaerts has published a book:
"Genealogie Vermue"about Cornelis Vermuyden, giving particulars about
him, his ancestors and his descendants. It is a genealogy, so no
children of the female members of the family will be given and data
about the English descendants will not be complete, probably.
And it is in Dutch! The book can be ordered with the secretary of the
Working group, mrs. E.J. Rentmeester-de Haas, Plataanweg 10, 4441 SB
Ovezande, The Netherlands, tel. 0113 655469. It costs Dfl. 90,-. =
about Euro 45 = about US$ 43.
Data about the English descendants might be available at the Museum
Cornelis Vermuyden, somewhere in England: no doubt mrs. Rentmeester
can tell you where it is. When the Dutch Queen visited England two
years ago, she has also visited that museum, I believe.
I hope this will be of some help for you.
Yours sincerely, Han Stoutjesdijk
