Hi Listers

Have some letters with the above address - has anyone an idea that this could be a private address, or perhaps a convent please.

The letters were written by a recently widowed lady who was seeking to join a religous order in WA, so I thought she may have been staying at a religious place.

Tried the olf google - and no current address for a Loreto/Lotetto similar to above.

Cheers
Joanne

Don't know of a Loretto Convent in Burns Bay Road, Lane Cove. The only
Loretto College I'm aware of is at Normanhurst.

However, there was a wedding Reception House called Mandalay in Burns Bay
Road which could have been a convent back in the 1920's. Not sure if it's
still operating as such.

Hi Joanne

You might be able to find this in the full fiche version of the Sands
PO directories in the Street section ( not on line)
I say might ,as Burns Bay Road is quite a long road and not sure of
its exact location in 1920 .

Bye
