Martin / Roberts mystery Australia

Hi,
Looking for a Victoria May Roberts (nee, Martin) who died in Australia
(probably Victoria or NSW) between 1942 & 1987, daughter of Maria Jane
Martin (nee Rope) & William James Martin.
Seems to have vanished, may have remarried before her death but can't
find anything about this in Vic, or NSW so far..
This has been a family mystery for years, hope someone can help!

in particular ?? How do you know what her parents names were & she
married some one named ROBERTS ? What records have you checked

per online NSW indexes: William James MARTIN married Maria J ROPE in
1876, in the Mudgee district. reg.3334/1876.
It appears the couple had a large number of children as suggested by

The family certainly enjoyed naming the girls: Lilly, Pansy,Daisy .. :)
The list includes the birth of Victoria M Martin in 1897 - so
ozgenfreaks post suggests that Victoria died sometime between the age of
45 and 80 years - a rather wide gap - in the absence of other
information I would normally expect a women to live to about the age of
70-80 years. But looking at the deaths of the sisters- Pansy and Lilly -
Pansy Neylon nee Martin died in 1944 Gilgandra district. and Daisy
Cooper nee Martin died in 1930 Gilgandra district - both women dying at
about the age of 50 years - too early - so if Victoria followed her
sisters - Victoria's death would be likely at about 1950.
Moving on -
the NSW indexes don't indicate any marriage of any Victoria Martin to a
Roberts.
in the NSW indexes there seems to be only one marriage of a Victoria M
Martin - to a Charles henry lloyd JOHNSTONE in 1924 ..
12100/1924 JOHNSTONE CHARLES H L MARTIN VICTORIA M GILGANDRA
A really odd thing though ... the 1936 Gilgandra electoral roll shows
that Charles Henry Lloyd Johnstone is a labourer of lower Miller Street.
yet the entry for Victoria May Johnston (sic??) is care of a Ludwig
SEMMLER ... I wonder if ozgenfreak has heard the names Johnstone or
Semmler in the family stories?? Ofcourse without any good information -
it is all speculation.
and the indexes show that Charles Johnstone died in 1941.
However the indexes do contain the death in the Wentworth district in
1929 of a Noel Roberts - father Arthur W Roberts - mother Victoria M???
could this be the girl??
Who knows - what we need is more information - perhaps the husband's
full name for starters? or maybe even a year of marriage? Or perhaps a
rough date when the couple split up and Victoria disppeared? Isn't there
an aunty or uncle around somewhere that can asssist with this research?
