The Historical claims on this region lie with the descendants of the
Illyrians ... the Albanians

The Illyrians inhabited the region prior to recorded history from
Trieste, Italy to Athens, Greece and to the Black Sea. They were
divided into many tribes. The area of Kosova was inhabited by the
Dardanian tribe. Today the descendants of these earlier people are
known as Albanians or Kosovars.

The Illyrian Empire existed for ~3000 years. Macedonia, Arberi,
Epiri, Dardania, and Delmocia were merely tribes (fise). Something
like the 50 states of the union of the United States. Each one of
them were self ruled. Even Slav Macedonians have no basis to claim
that ancient Macedonians were their ancestors since they came in
Macedonia in the 7th century AD. Kosova was called Dardania which was
a part of the Illyrian Empire and existed before recorded history.
The Serbs came into Shumadia and Kraleva in about the 8th and 9th
centuries from the north from present-day Russia. This area was
invaded by the Tartars from Mongolia. The Tartar advance was stopped
in central Europe by two princes of the Germanic Empire, however, not
before the Tartars scattered much of the Serbian nation throughout
Europe. In 1307 Czar Stephen Nemajo occupied and conquered Albania,
Macedonia, Dalmacia and Greece during his aggression against the
Byzantine Empire.

>From 1307-1389, Serbia ruled very aggressively in the Balkans. Many
peace negotiations took place between the Byzantine's and Serbia but
the Serbs always betrayed any of their agreements. Circa 1389, the
Sultan Murat I, in Crete, was urged to come to the defense of the
Byzantine Empire. His interest was great since his mother was Greek
and his wife was the daughter of the Emperor of the Byzantine Empire.
The Sultan was invited to go to Adrianople where he started the wars
against the Serbs to protect his father-in-law which led to the
expansion of the Ottoman Empire into Europe.

The Serbian government claims Kosova on the basis that Czar Dushan
was killed in Kosova Polje (po-LAY) in June 1389. However, that does
not make Kosova a Serbian territory. Similarly, Sultan Murat I was
also killed in Kosova Polje but that doesn't make Kosova Turkish
territory and they do not claim it. Albanians of Kosova are Illyrians
who are natives of this regon. However, the migration of different
groups into the Balkans has lent to an intermingling of peoples and
customs. Illyrians (Albanians) have never correctly recorded their own
history and have left it in the hands of others due to the constant
turmoil that plagued them.

To understand the Serbian occupation in the Balkans one only needs to
look back no further than the expansion of the Russian Empire under
Tsar Alexander II. In 1877, The Tsar espoused the cause of "oppressed
nationalities" within the Ottoman Empire and declared war against
the Sultan Abdul Hamid II, a cruel and cunning despot. This tactical
game of chess between the two empires lead to the treaty of San
Stefano, March 1878. It should be known that the Slavs, in 1872,
betrayed Albanians in Nish to Novibazar after they helped them oust
the Turks from that region. Once the Albanians helped accomplish its
goals, Serbia in turn repaid their ally by genocide. Every man, woman
and child was put under the knife or driven from their homes. A
monument in Krusovec called Cela Glava (palace of heads) was formed
from the heads of the Albanians who were the inhabitants of that
region. The San Stefano treaty recognized the independence of Serbia,
Montenegro, and Rumania and sanctioned the creation of a Bulgarian
national state which not only embraced Bulgaria proper but extended to
most of Macedonia from the Aegean to Albania. This territory would
still, however, pay annual tribute to the Ottoman Empire and it would
possess a prince of its own and enjoy complete autonomy. This prince
was to also carry out sweeping reforms in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Even
though the two empires were quite satisfied with the terms of San
Stefano there was equal opposition evoked from Great Britain and
Austria-Hungary. The head of the British government, Benjamin
Disraeli, a Tory patriot and Earl of Beaconsfield, believed that the
national interests of Britain were severely menaced by Russian
hegemony in the Near East. In agreement with Disraeli was the
Habsburg emperor, Francis Joseph, who feared that uncontrolled Slavic
nationalism in both Russia and the Balkans would unsettle the Slavs in
his own dominions and any further entrenchment would prevent
Austria-Hungary from obtaining further compensation for losses from
Italy and Germany. This evoked the Emperor Joseph to petition a
revision of the treaty by the European Powers and this revision led to
the Berlin Conference of summer 1878. This new treaty caused an
overlap of boundaries segregating peoples of the same nationality
causing much unrest in the Balkans. This is a major factor for the
present
destabilization of this region even today. As an example, Vojvodina
was Austro-Hungarian territory inhabited by Hungarians for centuries
until 1918 after WWI. This region was given to compensate Serbia under
the framework of the treaty at the conference of Versailles.

The purpose of the Berlin Conference was to correct the San Stefeno
Conference which was held in March 1878 between the Tsar and the
Sultan. This gave Russian Slavophiles an edge on power and the Slavs
a tremendous amount of territory that was under Turkish rule which
satiated a major threat (slavic) to Great Britain and Austria-Hungary.
No one even considered Albania at this time because it was a pawn or a
vessel of the Turkish Empire. What we do know is, Germany has
always sided with the protection of the Albanian people. At the
conference someone presented Albanians to Bismarck as "Shqipatre" and
he stated he did not know of these people. He always referred to
Albanians, as most Germans do, as Illyrians. The truth of the matter
is that the conference of Berlin was not about Albania or its people.
It was mainly to correct the immense power given to the Slavic people
in the San Stefeno Treaty.

This division was satisfactory for the petitioning agents since it
confined Slavic aggression to that region. This safe guarded the
colonies under British rule in the near-east. Unfortunately, Albania
was still under the Ottoman rule and this allowed the Sultan to be
very generous with Albanian lands during his negotiations. In the
course of this conference Greece fared very well and obtained a
considerable extension of territories on the mainland towards the
north. The new boundary set in 1881 would formally annex Thessaly a
region of Albania. This was the last division of Albania that
shouldn't have taken place. However, in response to the Conference of
Berlin , Albania held a conference in Prizren to defend its
territories and to show solidarity. Unfortunately, Albania was not
well organized and it was presented more as a gesture of unity rather
then a demand to the European Powers for solidarity.
Furthermore, the internal strife of Albania prohibited it from ever
reaching its goal. The strife continued and the use of Albania and its
people as an instrument to broker the interest of factions in the
European struggle made Albania the most prone. Even though, the world
did not recognize this conference it was an attempt towards unity
among the Albanian people. As was stated before, Albania was refused
independence because Albania was never considered as a player; so in
fact they could not be denied. The Prizern Conference that was held by
Albanians had representation from individuals who held prestigious
positions in the Ottoman Empire. The world nations ignored this
conference not in denial of Albania but rather in denial of the
representation by persons of an empire in collapse. If this conference
wasset by some opposionary intellectuals of the Albanian people who
never had any formality with the Empire they may have stood a better
chance. This point of history is repeating itself again today;
...during the Dayton Accords ...was Kosova invited?

The Berlin Conference historically, never bestowed Albania, any of
the distinction that its sacrifices contributed in its 50 plus revolts
against the Ottoman Empire. Albania was instrumental in keeping
Ottomen agressions confined to the Balkans and curtailing its
expansion into Europe.

In Sept. 1911, Italy announced that it had intentions of
appropriating The Ottoman province of Tripoli and Cyrenaica in
northern Africa. The Young Turk government replied by sending Enver
Pasha to defend the provinces. But ensuing these hostilities, proved
to be a double loss for Turkey. The Balkans, who were still paying
homage to the Sultan, stood up in unity and force to rid themselves of
the Ottoman Empire from Europe. Feverish military preparations ensued
throughout the Balkans, the Albanians rose in revolt, and in Oct.
1912, a declaration of war by tiny Montenegro was the signal for joint
attack of all the Balkan allies against the Ottoman empire.

It was one thing to despoil the Ottoman Empire and quite another to
divide the booty. Here again, the greed and mutual jealousy of the
Balkan Allies came into full play, and where enhanced by the
conflicting policies and ambitions of the great powers. The triumph of
the Ottoman Empire was interpreted as a prestige of Russia and
correspondly a blow to Germany and Austro-Hungary. Russia was an
interested backer of Serbia. Between them was the sentimental tie of
Panslavism and they had a common interest in weakening both the
Ottoman and Hapsburg Empires. Especially after 1907, when its entente
with Great Britain removed sources of conflict with that power in
Asia.
An enlarged-pro-Russian Serbia would be menacing to the continuing
integrity of the Hapsburg Empire with such a large population now in
Bosnia and Croatia. At this point in history there was again much
conflict over territory in the Balkans by Serbia. Hence came the
London Conference.

This did not stop Serbian aggression towards Albanian land. In 1912
Serbia fought for occupation in Shkodra (Scutari). They were pushed
out by Albanian mobilization and the help of Austro-Hungary.
However, the London Conference of 1913, known also as the
Ambassador's Conference in London separated Albanian territory even
more then the 1878 conference. In the south Cameria was given to
Greece above Thassely. In the northeast Kosova and Macedonia were
given to Serbia. To the north the area known as Malsia (mal-CEYA) was
given to Montenegro, then a separate state. Albanian territory had
been divided thirty-five years earlier and then again another division
during the London Conference. Albanians had played a major role in the
collapse of the Ottoman Empire and fought side by side with
Montenegro and Serbia only to find themselves occupied again by
another suppresser.

In 1929 a great English historian, John Swire, in his
book, ALBANIA - THE RISE OF A KINGDOM wrote:
"So wrote Lord Byron of that stalwart race which
inhabits the rugged but incomparably beautiful
highlands, fertile valleys, and wooded uplands, of
Albania. 'It is a quick witted-race, with keen
aesthetic perceptions, a feudal sense of honor and,
above all, an individualism which shows itself in
moral and intellectual originality. It is a race worth
saving' (Brailsford, Peace in the Balkans, March
1919)"

Kosova, again, became a part of Albania in 1941 under the agreement
Rome, Berlin, Tokyo alliance until fall of 1944. Kosova was always
Albanian territory but was occupied in 1912 by Serbia and confirmed a
Serbian occupation at the London Conference in 1913. Albanian's during
W.W.II were divided, one as the National Liberation Fronte and the
other nationalist parties i.e. Balli Kombetar and Legaliteti. On Nov.
8, 1941 a national conference was held in Tirana and supervised by a
Yugoslavian missionary, Miladin Popovich. In the interim of 1941-44
Kosova had a separate national liberation front under Fadil Hoxha ,
later minister of Kosova. Albania proper and Kosova fought separately
but simultaneously to eradicate fascism. Albania under Enver Hoxha
and Kosova under Fadil Hoxha. Kosova Albanians thought by the
eradication of fascism they would have self determination when in fact
they found themselves under Serbian rule again. They were misled at
the Bojan Conference on Dec 31, 1943 and Jan 1, 1944. During this
period of W.W.II Yugoslavia under Marshall Tito was in charge over the
Balkan matter. Albania was supervised by Yugoslavian missionaries
even though there were English Intelligence helping Enver Hoxha.
What Serbia said to mislead the Albanians and have them help in
their fight against the onslaught of facism was "If we need Kosova we
will keep it if we don't we will give it back to you."

The alliance of Kosova with Yugoslavia came about in winter, early
spring of 1945 when a Yugoslavian army moved to Kosova and the
Albanian army who helped fight fascism with the Serbs moved back to
Albania. With this undisputed move the partisans of Fidal Hoxha
joined the Yugoslavian forces. The fact of the matter was they (Fadil
and Enver) were not nationalist they were pure communists and the
borders did not matter; only the "cause". In short they were
internationalists. One must realize that neither Enver Hoxha nor Fidal
Hoxha ever broke its ties with Tito's government thus carrying out
their personal agendas rather then those of the nation.. England in
fact had a lot to do with the borders of Kosova. They did not want
their 1913 treaty disputed.

At the Bojan Conference Kosovars who participated at the meeting
understood that they would fight along side the Serbs and they would
gain their independence which in fact was a misunderstanding on their
part. No documents have ever been revealed that they would gain self
determination. Both Albania and Kosova where under the Yugoslavian
Central Communist Committee supervision they fought as two separate
fronts. In Jan, 1945 when Kosova was asked to fight in Nish against
Fascism Kosovars refused to join Serbia as an act of revolt under
Shaban Polluzha. Polluzha was a nationalistic leader and he opposed
any collaboration with Serbs; instead, Fidal Hoxha joined Yugoslavia .
ALL communists in the Balkans were under Yugoslavian supervision. As a
final note, Polluzha was fought by communist Albanians and
Yugoslavians.

One may ask why would Kosovars join Yugoslavia and Albania and
allow the loss of its people and territory. They did not consider it
lost.
In 1945, Enver sent school teachers to Kosova to set up Albanian
schools an agreement with Tito's government. During that year Enver
had correspondence with Tito discussing his desire to become the
seventh republic of Yugoslavia (Albanian Yugoslavian Relations 1949).
Many of the Central Committee in Albania had expressed the same desire
as Hoxha. However, a meeting held in Moscow concerning this request
was shot down. In January 1948, Milovan Dilas and Edward Kardel were
called to a meeting with Stalin and were told to "swallow Albania".
Dilas replied to Stalin that it was not a question of swallowing
Albania but rather how to be friends with Albania. After their return
to Belgrade, Dilas and Kardel decided that they did not want Albania
to join with Yugoslavia and make the seventh Yugoslavian republic. The
reason given by the Yugoslavian officials in several secret meetings
was they did not want a united Albanian people to be under one
government and preferred to keep the Albanian nation split. They
feared that the two Albanian territories would join and become the
largest republic of Yugoslavia thus absorbing any Serbian influence.
Enver did not care since it was the desire of the "party" and the
"cause" which was of the utmost importance to him. To Enver, during
this period, Kosova was not lost but under the communist ideal thus
loyal to the party.

Enver Hoxha rationalized the Albania-Kosova split by stating that
Albania was still with Kosova because the ideology of communism has
no borders. This philosophy changed when he had no further use for
Moscow. In later years, Enver used the slogan "We are seven million
people" which made many Kosovars think that he was to liberate
them from Serbia. In truth, there were no plans for Kosova or interest
to unite the people officially. Until 1991, Enver was held in high
regard by Kosovars until they were aware that he never had any plans
for Kosova.

They always thought that he would come and liberate them from
Yugoslavian suppression but that day never came. Again it was not in
the interest of either forces (communist or western) for the
unification and liberation of the Albanian people of this region.

....This same form of intervention again played a major role in
Albania's dominance. From the onset of the 'Legaliteti' movement and
the shadow government to the implementation of Enver Hoxha by the SOE.
Even in the early part of this century The U.S. and Britain had made
decisions and appointments for the people of Albania. The British in
1944 originally sided with Abaz Kupi, royalist, Ermenji, the
republican and Enver Hoxha , partisan Fronte Demokrat and promised
each support.
The first two never received the aid promised and against the advice
of their intelligence SOE decided to support Hoxha. In autumn of 1944,
German forces pulled out of Albania and it seemed as though the
communists had won. According to intelligence Albania was not lost.
Albania was at a critical moment with a little more American and
British intervention on the right side Albania could have been won for
the west. Churchill in favor of Yugoslavia in its own interests states
that the west had no conceivable interest in Albania's future. In an
order of future policy the War Office sent out this policy:

....We have let the nationalists of Albania down -
especially Gani Kryeziu who had fought well and is
sacrificing more than any communist - by not being
firmer with the FNC [partisans] when they attacked
Kupi. We should have stopped, at once, all supplies
and refused negotiations until they were prepared to
fight only Germans. Allowing the communists to kill,
attack or provoke their political enemies with our
supplies is as bad as doing it ourselves." (Betray
Albania, Nicholas Bethall)

During this past century the people of Kosova have endured the
suppression and prejudice of Serbia. Discrimination in all aspects of
lifefrom nationality to religion have been imposed. They rebelled in
the '90s and have been put under a police state. Despite the
oppression thathas taken place within Kosova, they have been given no
more groundthan the status of a minority engaged in a civil
insurrection wihtin their country of residence. Kosova rebellion is
dismissed by Serbians as they state that Kosova rights are in
accordance with all INTERNATIONAL NORMS and that they allow Kosovars
to maintain ties with the country of origin. This is not actually
practiced. Serbians desire that Kosova become a province in the
Yugoslav Republic of Serbia and genocide is practiced against Kosovars
daily to facilitate Serbia's plan for expansion.

Serbia does not want to lose claim to this region since it has always
been the breadbasket for the economy of Serbia. Industries from mining
to agriculture support a major part of the national budget. Vojvodina
is also another source of rich economy for Serbia mainly in
agriculture. Other reason's are territorial expansion to make Serbia
one of the largest countries in the Balkans. Mass is power. This also
gives Serbia the ability to expand the Russian Orthodox Church as
indicated at the turn of the century. Serbia has put up monuments to
its culture and religion on occupied soil so as to claim it in just
the cultural aspect alone. They feel since Albanians are predominately
Moslem today that they lost their footing in the Balkan's and now they
call them new-comers. It is an unfortunate fact that Serbia throughout
history has conquered through the dispersion and confusion of the
populus it was conquering.
Serbia was responsible for the reign of the Ottoman Empire in the
Balkan's for 450 years and the Balkan Wars at the turn of the century.
Serbia has also been responsible for WWI, by the assasination of
Prince Ferdinand in Sarajevo. WW II was a left-over of the territorial
conflicts from WW I. It also was the major initiator of the Bosnian
and Croatian Conflicts today. Serbia is a volatile ingredient for war
in the Balkans. This is because Serbia still does not recognize any
human rights or territories of people it annexed by force, let alone
the democratic process of its own countrymen. This oppression is
furthered by religious cleansing which has always lead to great
historical disasterous consequences. Unfortunately, Serbia has
cleverly poised itself in the political favor of Britain and France
which has allowed Serbia to terrorize the Balkans without restraint.

If Albania is not reunited with Kosova, then Kosova should be granted
self-determination with the help of the countries responsible for its
present situation. It is not the discretion of any political party or
foreign government to enforce Kosova's borders. The borders of Kosova
have been in place by the natural transition of time and the
occupation of its Albanian natives. It is the inherent right of a
people to have self determination as is expressed in international law
and standards.

The Illir "Empire" never existed. The Illirs lived in tribes just like the Celts, and they were
defeated trough genocide by the Romans just as they defeated the Gauls.

Alliance?
What an innocent name for the Nazi Axis!

This short paragraph is the very reason why, for some persons,
at least for me, Kosova should stay always with Yugoslavia.
Not because Kosova is the alleged cradle of the Serbian nation,
Stephan Dusan and all, but because Kosova's population was
70% Serbian and 30% Albanian in 1939 and became 70%
Albanian in 1945 due to the ethnic cleansing performed against
Serbs during the Nazi occupation.

That said, it is equally true that the Kosovars are entitled to
full human rights and equal treatment -just like any persecuted
ethnic minority. But to consider Kosova as an Albanian land
is more or less equivalent as to approve the ethnic cleansing
performed by the Nazi occupation.

Many Serbs died in Kosovo during the WWII, as Albanians joined nazis. But
a very large number of Serbs left Kosovo after the war, as it was Tito's
policy to split and ruin Serbia completely. And yes, the figure of 70%
Orthodox population in 1939 is about right.

You are bloody liar! For forty years '44 to 84, not a bird could fly
over the Albanian border, let alone migrants.

As for joining the Nazis, Serbia was a Nazi ally throughout the war, via
their Nazi leaders Nedic, Ljotic and Draza Mihailovic who openly
cooperated and carried out Nazi orders to the letter!

Actually Albania was the only country in Europe to free itself from the
Nazis, without anyone's help. Not only that Albanians freed South part
of Serbia as well!

Serbian Orthodox monasteries in Kosovo date from 13th - 14th century.
Kosovo was (and it is now) the center of Serbian Orthodox Church, and the
town of Pec (in Metohija) was our main city at that time. If you think
it's a joke, please let me know any (ANY!) Albanian monument or other
object of culture in Kosovo that is older than 200 years. Regards.

Firstly, mate, you have forgotten to answer the question. That is not polite.
So, again, do you know any...? I am sorry, I am not.

Secondly, it is fair to compare the date of Christianity acceptance by
Albanians( could you let us know that. Any reference, please) versus the same
by Slavs (do you know that date at all?), as well as the separate issue
comparing the date of Balkans (Kosovo) settlement by Albanians versus the
same by Slavs.

What is you trying to say that "red" colour is better in comparison to
"wooden made". How you can be trying to compare which is actually
non-comprisable?

Thirdly, when you mention, so called, "Mogilev swamps" you should actually
refer to Kiev Russ State with it capital Kiev, which has been bigger to whole
Balkanian Peninsula. Kiev Russ State included part of modern Ukraine and part
of European territory of modern Russia, and, of course, whole modern
Belorussia including it, so called, "Mogilev swamps"

Acceptance of Christianity of all citizens of the Roman empire occured
around 5th century and began under Constantine (350 AD I believe)
Albanians were citizens of Rome, Diokletian was a member of the
triumvirate, and an Albanian!

Russian Slavs accepted Christiany by an edict around eleventh century.
Serbians became Christians in 13th century, but paganism persisted and
still persists today. Serbian villagers trust a local witch much more
than they trust a doctor (vrachara).

by Slavs (do you know that date at all?), as well as the separate issue
comparing the date of Balkans (Kosovo) settlement by Albanians versus
the
same by Slavs.

Under Serbian Zar Dusan, Serbs occupied not only Koosova but also great
part of Greece and Byzantium, for a short time only about 50 years. This
forms the basis of the claim to Kosova by the Serbs. serbs never settled
to live in Kosova, with very minor exceptions. I was there during the
war and several years after the war and saw very few Serbs there.

What is you trying to say that "red" colour is better in comparison to
"wooden made". How you can be trying to compare which is actually
non-comprisable?

Ther is some misunderstanding here!

Thirdly, when you mention, so called, "Mogilev swamps" you should
actually
refer to Kiev Russ State with it capital Kiev, which has been bigger to
whole

That is where the Serbbs and Croats originate from, at the time of their
emigration the place was held by Ostrogoths and Mongols

Balkanian Peninsula. Kiev Russ State included part of modern Ukraine and
part
of European territory of modern Russia, and, of course, whole modern
Belorussia including it, so called, "Mogilev swamps"

Ia ne hochu vas o nichem ubezdat, ia prosto govoriu ob etom o chem ia
nauchilsia v serpskoi skole i iz visih skol v amerike!
