Radio Cymru y bore yma.
Cadarnhaodd yr heddlu mai corff y diddanwr Ronnie Williams a ganfuwyd ar
y traeth bore ddoe. Cafodd e lwyddiant yn y 70au fel rhan o'r par "Ryan
a Ronnie". Yn ddiweddar ymddangosodd yn y gyfres teledu "Licyris
Alsorts" ac yn y ffilm "Twin Town".

Radio Cymru this morning.
The police have confirmed that the body found on the beach yesterday was
that of Ronnie Williams. He was successful in the 70s as one of the duo
"Ryan and Ronnie". Recently he appeared in the tv series "Licyris
Alsorts" and in the film "Twin Town".

It is ironic that there was a thread about Ryan and Ronnie on this NG.
Gosh I hope that it wasn't anything that was said!!
It appears that Ronnie had talked of suicide before, pity noone took it
seriously
it seemed! His wife apparently is in New Zealand.

Very sad as he is my namesake and I met him once at a very nice restaurant
near roath park lake [where I was born - not the restaurant but glossop
terrace maternity home]

I met Ronnie in a pub in Cardigan a few years ago and was most impressed by
his willingness to talk about his life and career. He explained that it was
he who came up with the catchphrase "Don't call Will on your father" which
was the translation of the acceptable welsh phrase "Peidia a galw Wil ar dy
da^d"
May he rest in peace.
