Perhaps this proves that I, TheDavid, have become famous throughout
the net.cosmos, but "flattery" like this I don't need. Let the record
state that I, David A.H. Perry, who has used the username 'thedavid'
at two different ISPs (and "spamblocker" phoney unregistered domains)
SINCE JULY 1994 have nothing whatsoever to do with "thedavid.com" as
whoised below, that I regard this blatant misappropriation of my long-
established "net.persona" as fucking INSULTING, and that I'd like an
attorney to contact me about getting these assholes to STOP using *MY*
personal monicker in this UNAUTHORIZED fashion. Let "thedavid.com" do
it RIGHT, or make them STOP entirely.

Furthermore, I am NOT "The David" at the below address in Elmira NY,
and that person must stop calling himself that immediately REGARDLESS.

Any attorney contacting me should know that I do NOT desire monetary
damages from the insulting party, that I am too poor to pay legal or
other fees, that I DON'T want to take over these fools' little domain,
and that I'm NOT interesting in trademarking 'thedavid' or in any such
hyper-capitalistic pseudo-solution. You'd be working pro bono to help
one poor net.geek defend his online identity from exploitation; it'd
be nothing more profitable than a principled "labor of love" for you.

What I want is this: either SHUT DOWN "thedavid.com" -- OR get these
jerks to do what they should have done in the FIRST place, namely get
my PERMISSION to use *MY* net.identity in a DECENT fashion that means
something to me (as I'd say, 'in the spirit of TheDavid').

Hence my conditions for letting "thedavid.com" remain are as follows:

1) "thedavid.com" -- in keeping with my principles -- shall grant FREE
email accounts to anyone who asks, both as a dialup PPP+shell and as
a telnettable shell account for folks who aren't in their local area
and don't want to pay long-distance charges to reach them.

2) "thedavid.com" -- in keeping with my principles -- shall grant FREE
*full-featured* dialup and telnettable accounts (with a good Usenet
feed, five megabytes of disk space for storage and a homepage, and
all the other services people expect from internet accounts such as
FTP, IRC, etc.) to anyone with "proof of poverty" (such as -- but
not limited to -- receiving need-based government assistance), AND
to refugees of oppression (according to _Amnesty International_'s
definition/usage), AND to residents of Native American reservations
and equivalents of these like refugee camps in the "Middle East" etc.

3) "thedavid.com" -- in keeping with my principles -- must announce
these accounts on their home page AND in all their print, HTML and
ASCII advertising anywhere (such as their local Yellow Pages and
whatever other form of advertising they use). They must also allow
anyone else to inform the people of the Earth of the existence of
these FREE accounts in any fashion, without paying "thedavid.com"
or any person or organization connected with it a fee to spread the
word that these accounts exist.

4) "thedavid.com" -- in keeping with my principles -- must honor Free
Speech in all their accounts (fee-based and otherwise); they may NOT
censor or monitor their users' email, Usenet posts, IRC/chat/talk
usage, the contents of their home pages, ETC.; they must also make
PGP available for free to all their users as many ISPs already do.

5) "thedavid.com" -- because they pissed me off -- must publicly and
explicitly acknowledge that they fucked me over by appropriating
and exploiting my net.identity without even TELLING me about it,
and that these free accounts exist because I made them do it.

6) "thedavid.com" -- if they meet these conditions -- may continue to
exist for renewable periods (at MY discretion) of one calendar year
from the date they accept these conditions for as long as I see that
they meet these conditions. In addition they'll also be recognized by
me, David A.H. Perry a.k.a. TheDavid, (e.g., 'The Only ISP Authorized
By TheDavid Himself!' or 'The Official Home Of TheDavid!' or something
like that), THUS GRANTING THEM WHATEVER BENEFITS THAT LOGICALLY MUST
HAVE MOVED THEM TO CALL THEMSELVES "THEDAVID.COM" IN THE FIRST PLACE.

(Of course this stuff would probably have to be translated into legalese
and might have to be filed in some court somewhere -- which obviously
explains why I'd want a lawyer to help me out here -- but no fundamental
revisions of these conditions will be entertained.)

It's simple really: either "thedavid.com" must embody 'The Spirit of
TheDavid' as I see it -- or they must STOP using my identity.

And as I said before that "The David" at that address in Elmira, NY
is NOT me, David. A.H. Perry a.k.a. TheDavid, and must stop using that
designation immediately regardless of whether "thedavid.com" accepts
my conditions or not.

Furthermore, if those people at "thedavid.com" do anything further to
piss me off or harm my interests I *will* sue them for monetary damages.

So, this is a pretty damn clear-cut legal case here. Who wants it?
