Let’s even pretend bears are nocturnal. (Because sometimes in heavily populated human places, they forage more at night, to avoid humans)
Many kinds of nocturnal animals stay out into daylight morning hours, and also come out early in afternoon daylight hours, to eat.
I only almost hit 3000 “nocturnal” deer in the road on my way to work, every day at 9am, and on the way home at 5pm. In broad daylight.

Scared to let the morning take this away,
Dawn we'll break it,
I know we’ll make it,
Cause in the dark it's our safest haven.--"Insomnia" lyrics
