Translation for "Indiraiyo Ival..." needed!

Sundariyo" from the Kaadhalan soundtrack? I dont know about the rest of
you but I think thats the most beautiful track on that tape. I am
going crazy listening to it but unable to understand what the song is
about. Please Help. If you are in the mood translations of the
following songs are also more than welcome:

thirikoodaraasappa kaviraayar's poem
in kuRavaNYchi. This poem talks about vasanthaa
playing with hand-balls. The poet wonders if
she is a princess of Indra or Rambai or Mohini.
He goes on to wonder the skill displayed in the
game by saying
manam munthiyathO! vizhi munthiyathO!
karam munthiyathO!
The tamil here is very simple and
self-explanatory. Vasantha is playing the
game of catching many had-balls without
dropping them. Her hands, eyes and mind
have to coordinate to play the game.
This poem has got a good santham.

Hmmm. I know Hindi a lot better than I know Tamil but somehow the
Hindi versions of al these soundtracks just dont do it for me. You can
often hear how the lyricist has tryed to squeeze the words into the
line. There is a lot more to it than I can describe in words though --
the scores were written for Tamil, nothing else is as good. Even if I
can understand the words in one version better than the original.
When I *do* find out what the song means (like I just did) its almost
always the case that the Hindi version has been way off the mark (as
in this case -- read an earlier follow up from Kathir).

Thanks for the response. Hand-balls, sounds similar to
juggling(?). Funny, I cant remember a single scene of the movie in
which *anybody* is juggling. Interesting topic to write a poem on
though. I wish I knew Tamil, and then I could understand the full
beauty of this and the millions of other Tamil stories, songs/poems,
and jokes!

Omi,
That's exactly the same way I feel when I watch a lot of Hindi
films! I'm Tamil and I understand most of the jokes in the Tamil
movies but it's hard to determine the meaning of the songs at times.
However, I'm getting better at it as time progresses. One day, I'll take
the time to learn Hindi.
