MOVIE REVIEWS: Ayudha Poojai, Iravu.

Story of fight between two liquor barons (Arjun and
the villain) and how it affects the family life of one (Arjun).
Arjun gives a good performance (his acting somehow reminds of
kamal's yester years). Roja is present only in song sequences.
One of the songs, a fast number is good. Arjun's kid is very
cute. All in all, a very entertaining movie.
Iravu : Revathi, Arunkumar. Dir : Ram Gopal Verma.
Seems like a dubbing from a hindi movie. One of the best horror
movies I have seen in recent times. There is not much of a story
("Ghost of a murder victim paying havoc" pretty much sums it up),
but the screen play and the narration are good (gripping). Revathi
plays her part with ease. She stands out in parts where she
changes from being a ghost to being herself.
This and Droh kaal have changed my opinion of Hindi art movies
(sadly both can be classified only that).
While I am on this post, can some one tell me who was the MD for
(a) Asuran.
(b) Villadhi Villain.
Both the movies had some really good fast numbers.

THE MUSIC DIRECTOR OF ASURAN IS ADITHYAN. This guy has been generally
successful since his first hit (a movie starring Karthik...I don't
remember the name) back in 1992(?).
: (b) Villadhi Villain.
VIDHYASAGAR. Well the problem here is that he is accussed of lifting the
tunes of Phill-Jerry.
