After down loading, did you tried to execute it?

I want to read Dinamani on line. It saysI need to download TNNEWS truetype
font first. I did. It is now in c:\aol30\download\. Still I am not able to
read the tamil page. Some junk comes out.
I use WINDOWS95 and INTERNET EXPLORER3.0
What am I doing wrong.
Your help will be greatly appreciated.

It works fine and my system is Win 3.11 for wkgps and Netscape Gold 3.0. The
problem may be with Explorer since quite a few other fonts have problems with
it. Now, if only someone can help me figure out why Murasu Anjal doesn't
work I'll be able to read Vikatan<sigh>.

Drag the file to fonts folder and restart the computer. It works for me. Have
fun.

Hi,
Copy the TMNEWS.FON or whatever is the font file to \windows\fonts
(or u can use start/control panel/font manager to do the same) and then
try it. It works fine for me on a win95/explorer 3.0x).

Hi,
After you download the font file (tmnews.ttf, if i remember right),
you have to *INSTALL* it.
Open these folders in the foll. order:
My Computer
Control Panel
Fonts
In the 'Fonts' folder, Click on the menu option File and select
'Install new font'. Point to the directory where the tmnews.ttf file is
(in your case, it will be c:\aol30\download) and follow the instructions

I had similar problem when I tried to read Vikatan website with
Inaimathi font (for Mac). I do get Tamil characters, but nothing makes
any sense! It's all like a cryptic clue! I need figure out which letters
are substituted for which other one!! Any ideas, anyone? Thanks.

Try opening Murasu Anjal first and then go to the vikatan page. It
works in Windows95 ( and netscape). If you close Murasu Anjal, though,
things go back to hell! Don't know why.
