No. Not at all. It is rAjAji's own, not-too-textually-true
version of the rAmAyaNA. It is actually his interpretation
of the RamAyaNA in thamizh. His interpretation in English
is the Bhavan's publication The ramAyaNA ( Not a translation
of his chakkaravarththith thirumakan). To the extent that it
does not adhere too closely to the text of vAlmIki or kampan,
it may qualify as (bad) fiction or romance :-)

NOT opinionated, but just having and expressing opinions
for which I am solely responsible.

Kumudham's founder and late editor is SAP and not ASP. His full name is
S.A.P.Annamali.

What a pitty. I didn't know this. Thankyou very much for this info. I used
to read his
'Chithira Thodar' in my childhood. Great writer.

Jagachirpiyan's novel is 'Thiruchchitrambalam'. I don't know whether he
wrote 'Aalavai Azhagan' also.

Ram, You can consider Chakraravarthith Thirumagan' (Ramayanam) also. But
that falls under Epic category. He also wrote 'Vyasar Virundu'
(Mahabharatham) also.
