Film Review: Aahaa
The Hindu 30-10-1997

Two, or rather three factors about the film make a terrific impact on
the viewer. They also help to resuscitate the tempo of the film whenever
it sags, especially towards the end. The first is the dialogue. Pithy
and humorous throughout and thought provoking at times, the dialogues
are extremely effective. Kudos to `Crazy' Mohan.

The second significant aspect is Banupriya's sensitive portrayal. Subtle
and without overtones of melodrama, her rendition of the role of the
daughter-in-law (Raji) of Parasuraman (Vijayakumar) is another milestone
in the actress' career. She has chosen the right role to stage a
comeback after a short period in hibernation.
The third is Raghuvaran's dignified performance as Banupriya's husband
and Parasuraman's eldest son.

The hero, Rajiv Krishna and the heroine, Sulekha, make their debut in
``Aahaa''. Rajiv's role is such that there is much scope for him to
display his acting skills and he has utilised the opportunity well.
Comparatively, Sulekha has little to do, except act coy a few times and
flare up just once.

Deva's music, The mdeley, in the wedding scene, when the crowd
joins in an `anthakshari' game, looks very natural and is hence, appealing.
Director Suresh Krishna deserves praise for presenting a clean and
wholesome family entertainer.
