some big names, some new technology, have all contributed to a tremendous
hot streak in the Kodambaakkam wonderland of Tamil movies!.. Lots to
cover, so arambipoma?!..

Kisu Kisukkal, Shandaigal, etc. etc.
***Thamizh-ukku tata kaati vitta "ramya"-maana nadigai-kku aadaharav-aaga
karam neetiyavar andha raagavendra bhakthar-aana telegu director.
Recently the nadigai introduced a "rambam" podum actress to get her a
chance in telegu!.. Ippo director's care and concern "rambam" pakkam
saayya, "ramya"-maana nadigai "labo dhibo" yendru kaththugiraar!..

Chicken Biriyaani!!.. All the dance artists in the movie have no
enthusiasm. Even if the hero did all the movements correctly, the dance
artists vennum-ne take vaangugiraargal!.. Twice a week, non-veg poda
vendum yendru rule irukka, producer verum saambar rice dhaan podugiraar!..
The Dance Master explained: "These dancers put in so much hard work,
idharkku saiva saappaadu mattum podhaadhu!".. Still producer mandai-yil
uraikkavillai!.. Yerichchal adaindha Da. Master, spent 500 bucks from his
own pocket and bought non-veg food for the dancers to eat!..
Vishayam hero kaadhugal-ukku poga, tension aagi vittaar!.. "Saapaadu
kooda poda theriyaadhavar ellam oru producer-a?"-nu solli vittu, shooting
cancel seidhu, pack up solli vittaar!.. Producer doesn't seem to be

Short, yet svarasyam-aana notes, on telegu and kannada choices: "Peththa
Raayudu," the telegu re-make of namma ooru "Naataamai".. took the honors
of best film, as well as best actor: Mohanbabu and best actress: Bhanupriya
for the same film!.. Meena-vukku bayangara luck this year.. she not only
won for "Muthu," but also for "Butta Nanjaa".. best actress in Kannada!..
I guess, this is what koorai-ya pichchindu kottaradhu really means!..
***NEPC Television also gives out special awards for people who serve
well in different fields.. These awards were also given during the Cinema
Express function, which was held on April 20th, 1996!

***"Pavazha Vizha" celebration for "Muthu" was held at the Ambassador
Pallavaa Hotel.. Actually the event was squeezed in, right before Rajini
left for the States a few months back!.. Rajini got a huge keddayam-a
glass framed box with kuththu vilakkus and a giant size "Muthu" Rajini
photo inside!.. Meena, K.S. Ravikumar, A.R.Rahman, Dance Master
Tharunkumar, Vairamuthu, Raghuvaran, Vadivelu, Ponambalam, Kandhimathi
all received a miniature size thiruvalluvar-which is the sign of
"Kavithaalaya Productions"!!.. On this occasion, the thiruvalluvars
became emblems of the success of "Muthu"!..
***"Roja" magazine, in collaboration with Anubhav Group of Companies,
presented awards for best performances/films for last year!.. Their
choices are drastically different from any you will see in recent time!..
