troops.
In early 90's, join hands with Srilankan Government and started working

In 1990's, even blown up the leader of India
Now, 8 years later, they want the India again. Is it a f**k or What?
Isn't that bit embarrassing asking these from India again?
On the other hand, If the LTTE's leader would have been blown up by a group
and that group ask the LTTE for a similar request, Will the LTTE will agree
on that situation is the Big question ???

Out of the approximately 80 million Tamils living allover the world, it is
estimated that about 80% live in India. Tamil Nadu is considered as the
motherland of Tamils where at least 70% of the 80 Million Tamils live. We
have observed in the last two-decade how far the Tamil Nadu politicians
manipulated and used the Sri Lankan Tamil issue for their political goal.
When Rajeev Gandhi was killed, each Tamil Nadu political party used it to
set the spark on the sentiment of the people not because of the love and
respect for Indra Gandhi's son son but because of an Political objective of
to use the killing to outwit the the opponents in the Political arena and
put the blame on each party. We have also seen how far the love for Tamil
and its culture is fast deteriorating in Tamil Nadu especially in Chennai.
Recently they even disgraced Kannagi, a historical legend for their
political motives. Those who wanted to erect a temple for Kannagi were
arrested. A tribute Tamil Nadu government pays to Illango Adigal and Seran
Senkuttuvan, the builders of Kannagi legend.
Kannagi amman worship is popular in Sri Lanka among Sinhalese and Tamils and
was supposed to have been introduced from Tamil Nadu by Gajabahu in 178 AD.
Poet Kasi Ananthan has written a book in Tamil, explaining how the English
virus is destroying the Tamil language in Tamil Nadu especially in Chennai
as a result of the impact of Tamil cinema. Many Tamil films carry English
titles such as Lovely, Gentleman, Rhythm, and Little John etc. Each and
every Tamil dialogue spoken in cinema is corrupted by English words, as the
Tamil cinema world considers it as a fashion and status to use frequently
English words in the dialogues. The love for American culture too is
exhibited in Tamil cinema. So is the love for Tamil in the motherland of
Tamils.
Recently when LTTE wanted a base to start its peace talk they selected Tamil
Nadu as the convenient base because of its close proximity to Sri Lanka.
LTTE requested permission from the central government of India to shelter
its Political Advisor Anton Balasingham in Chennai to begin peace
negotiations with Sri Lankan government. Immediately DMK leader released a
statement without any commitments saying, "Let the Center Decide on the
request". It implies that he wants to sit like a cat on the fence. This
exhibits his fear for ADMK, which he thinks that they may twist and turn his
statement for its own Political benefit. Veeramani and Nedumaran support
ADMK. On the other side they support LTTE for their cause. They play a game
of Dr Jakeyl and Mr. Hyde. Both of them do not want to displease
Jeyalalitha, the ADMK leader, but at the same time wants to support LTTE's
request. The present Chief (Yes) minister of Tamil Nadu from ADMK has
released a statement opposing the granting of shelter to Balasingham and
will be writing to the Center not to permit Balasingham, a Tamil, to be
based in Chennai. If Kerala or Karnataka or Andhra Pradesh agrees to
accommodate him it will be a disgrace to the entire so called Tamilians of
Tamil Nadu and their charismatic leader Jeyalalitha and Cheap Minister. It
is the Tamil Political parties in Tamil Nadu who will create hurdles in
finding peace in for the Sri Lankan Tamils. The Moopanar Congress of Tamil
Nadu, a political alliance of ADMK, too is against providing a base for
Balasingham. Union Minister Kannapan who belongs to MDMK has shown support
to LTTEs request. So is PMK leader Dr Ramdoss.
This diversified attitude of Tamil political parties in Tamil Nadu exhibit
clearly how serious they are in finding peace for the Sri Lankan Tamils.
Their love for Tamil Language, Culture and Tamil brethrens is only eyewash.
There are many lessons they have to learn about Unity and solidarity from
the Muslim community allover the world. World Muslim community demonstrated
their solidarity through demonstrations when Afghanistan, the Muslim country
was bombed. This diversified attitudes from Tamil Nadu Political parties
reflects how united are the Tamil. This disunity may be one of the reasons
that 80 Million Tamils do not have a country of their own where as there are
countries with population less that 10% of the Worlds Tamil population. When
will the Tamil Nadu people open their eyes and think straight?

We can view this in another way. Neither the Tamils nor the LTTE had
any anti-Indian sentiments. In fact they loved India and looked to
India as Mother India.
However, in the 80's the Indian government used the Tamil youths as its
tools to punish an anti-Indian Sri Lankann government. They armed and
trained 100's of Tamil groups. They created a lot of puppet groups.
Finally,when Sri Lanka caved in to the Indian pressure, they sent their
troops to destroy a Tamil group which refused to be simple puppets of
India. They tried hard to kill its leader. Although they managed to
pretty much decimate this group, its leader survived and regrouped. And
allegedly, the leader of the Tamil group killed the adventurer (Rajiv
Gandhi) who caused so much killing and suffering in Sri Lanka.
India claims that it supports the peace process between the Sri Lankan
government and the LTTE. That is why the LTTE made this request.
If this request is not met, the only people who will face inconvenience
is the Norwegians. They will have to shuttle between London and
Colombo, instead of Madras and Colombo.
Why can't Anton Balasingam stay in Colombo? Already, there has been an
attempt at the life of Ranil Wikremasinge. How safe can it be for
Anton Balasingam?

If India will interfere in SL affairs it will be only at the
invitation of SL govt and not lawless fascist forces called LTTE.
India and SL will restore the true rights of N&E SL people.

The ethnic problem in Sri Lanka

It is, of course, imperative that the ethnic conflict be settled. To do this
the Sri Lankan people and their government (be it the UNP or the SLFP) will
have to accept that Sri Lanka is not a Sinhala-Buddhist country but a
multi-ethnic, multi-lingual, multi-religious and multi-cultural country. If
this cannot be accepted, the chaos will continue. As Voltaire said, "if we
believe in absurdities [the absurdity of Sri Lanka being a Sinhala-Buddhist
nation] we will commit atrocities [the war in the Tamil areas]".
The necessary requirements are:
a) To accept the right of self-determination for the Tamil people (12.5%
of the population).
b) To tender an apology to the Tamil people in the North and East for
what has been done to them.
c) To bring the perpetrators of what can only be described as "crimes
against humanity" to book - irrespective of their standing, present or past.
d) To stop the continuing abuse of human rights in the North and East.
e) To lift the embargo on goods to the North which is causing so much
civilian suffering/hardship.
f) To control the Armed Forces and make them accountable.
Non-ethnic problems in Sri Lanka

These are serious, if not, more serious than the ethnic problem.
a) Rampant bribery and corruption at every level including, and
especially, the top.
b) Murder as a form of governance.
c) The breakdown of law and order with thugs and hoodlums in the
underworld replacing the police.
d) An economy on the verge of collapse.
