Eelam and Tamil Brahmins

Does he have a case? I think so. It appears to me that most Tamil Brahmins
are against eelam or have no sympathy for SL Tamil cause. Of course, there
are some brahmins who are very sympathetic to Eelam Tamils. This discussion,
however, is about the majority of brahmins.
The Indian Tamil brahmins are a proud lot (so are SLTs). They are high
achievers in all fields in India. They consider themselves Aryans (who
cares about blue eyes and blond hair anyway). They even distrust fellow
dark skinned brahmins. They believe that they can trace their origins to
some "mythologiv cal characters" like Vasista, Dhurvasa and few others
(isn't that stupid?). Because they feel so superior, they don't want to
have anything in common with the other Indian Tamils - the dark skinned
Dravidians. So, they created their own dialect to communicate among
themselves. They developed a separate naming scheme for their kids --
Sundar, Subramaniam, Krishnamoorthy, Swamy..., ...chari, Venugopal, and
few other names.
During the British Raj, the Tamil Brahmins were given important posts
(so what if they were traitors). So their modern day domination of
Dravidians started well before India gained independence. During the
Congress rule, they continued their domination until Periyar and Anna
came along. The Dravidian movement effectively put an end to the
Brahmin dominance in Tamil Nadu (during the demonstrations against the
Mandel commission report, conspicuously there was very little opposition
in Tamil Nadu). So, naturally most brahmins are anti-DMK. Having lost
their domination in TN, most of them migrated to central government jobs.
So, naturally they like Congress. (Of congress is controlled by brahmins.
otherwise how can the PM and the President be brahmins)
Brahmins are tr terrified at the idea of giving more powers to the States.
They are afraid that giving more powers to the states means loss of
power for them. They opposed the demand for selfrule (suya aatchi) by
DMK. It is because they control the print media in TN/India, they were
able to carry out their propaganda against the selfrule demand by DMK.
The most prominent people against Eelam are Brahmins like Cho, Subramaniyam
Swamy (I believe he is a congress agent sent on a mission to destroy
other parties and leaders), Jayalalitha and a few others.
During the India's failed effort to mediate the SL dispute, the SL Tamils
involved in the negotiations felt that the Tamil brahmins are not
sympathetic to the SL Tamil's cause. Most came to the conclusion that
tamil brahmins would never help non-brahmin Tamils. The moral and
financial help for the SLT cause came only from the Dravidian Tamils.
Many SLTs now consider the brahmins "soft looking dangerous people".
Tamil brahmins are hated in North India. It may be because of their
success or their clannish mentality. When the are in powerful
(management) positions they bring in only fellow brahmins. That is
why DMK never allowed brahmins in their party. They learned from
Mohan Kumaramangalam (deceased C.P leader). When the Tamil Attorney
General (brahmin?) stepped down due to some scandal, he complained that
some people in the North are trying to oust the Tamils (brahmins?)
from powerful posts. The other prominent Tamil brahmin to exit
disgracefully was Krishnamoorthy of planning commission.
If the Tamil brahmins keep continuing their current attitudes, I believe
one day they will find that they have no place to go and they may even
want a separate state for themselves. At that time I am sure they will
be sympathetic to SL Tamils.
Suresh is right. After having voted against the creation of SCT, the
Tamil brahmins cannot be allowed to take control of SCT. So you
nonbrahmins out there keep posting your articles. Another topic for discussion:
