A BLESSED PILGRIMAGE to Sri-Lankas ADAM's PEAK, believed to came
down
there, Eva /Hauwa in Jeddah or Arafah Mountain near Bakkah / Makkah
welcome, this is a report for the Travellers of the "HOLY-Land towards
east
India and Ceylon-Srilanka, best by Land, it might take by Road and
train
about four month to half year.
Adams Peak is a worshippingplace of Hindus and Buddhist and the local
Muslims and rarely Christians are going there. The SINGHALESE

Majority seems to be a old folk related to the Egyptians and other
survivors of the Atlantic Catastrophe and so many Saints visited it ,
including Sufi-Sheikh Abdul Qadir al Gelani
flew to Sri-Lanka on his prayer-mat. Sri-Lanka means the HOLY Island.

A BLESSED PILGRIMAGE

Moulana Sheikh Nazim has often mentioned that Adam's Peak in Sri
Lanka is one of the Holy Places in the world. This is the place
where Adam (alai) is said to have asked for forgiveness for the sin
of eating the forbidden fruit. It was on top of Adam's Peak that he
is supposed to have stood on one foot and beseeched Allah Almighty
for forgiveness.
Many saints throughout the ages have come to Sri Lanka for the
specific purpose of climbing up Adam's Peak. There is a foot print
on the peak which Muslims believe is the foot of our great great
Grandfather Adam (alai).
In Sri Lanka there is a time during which the Buddhist people in the
country climb up Adam's Peak. This period is from December to May,
which is for about six months. This is known as Adam's Peak season
time in Sri Lanka. During this period the entire mountain is covered
with people and it is like a holy procession climbing up to the
peak. It is a long queue from the bottom to the top and from the top
to the bottom in two rows. The crowd is so much that the person
behind has to wait till the person in the front moves up. In short
hundreds of thousands of people climb Adam's Peak everyday during
this season time. This goes on for 24 hours a day till the season
finishes. During the season time there is electricity and the whole
muntain is lit up.
It is now off season time at Adam's Peak. Hardly anyone climbs up
there during this time. There is also no elecricity or lights during
this time. We find occasionally a few people mostly forigners who
visit Sri Lanka climbing to the Peak during this time. So it is very
hard to see anyone for miles. It is during this time that there is
heavy rain on the mountain. This makes climbing difficult and it is
also very cold on top.
We, the moderators of this forum, together with our zikhr group
numbering in all about 15 people, with the permission of Moulana
Sheikh Nazim decided to climb up to the Peak of this mountain to be
on the top of the Peak on the night of baraat. This was also a full
moon night. The night was lit up by the full moon and therefore we
did not miss the electicity. The night of Baraat being the 16th of
August 2008, we intended to spend on top of the Peak with zikhr and
prayer. So with this intention in mind we started climbing up the
mountain on the morning of the 16th day of August at 10.30 a.m. In
our crowd there were also 5 ladies. We climbed up for almost 6 and a
half hours before we reached the top. On the way we had a river bath
somewhere quarter way up the mountain. We reached the Peak before
sunset.
As soon as we reached the Peak we rested for a little while and
before the sun could set we started the Khatm ul Khawajagan right in
front of the Foot Print of Adam (alai). We completed the zikhr in
about 45 munities and it was very very cold at this time. There was
a room below the Peak where we stayed the night over. Inside this
room we did two more Khatm ul Khawajagan zikrs. Apart from us there
were a few other people on the mountain – a few Buddhist priests, a
few foreigners and a few local people, all in all numbering about 15
people. They did not however participate in our zikhr. We could not
sleep the night because it was too cold. In the morning we went to
the top of the Peak again to see the sun rise. We also took many
photographs. Today we are having one of these photographs on our
forum.
We started climbing down at about 8 a.m. after breakfast. We took
our dinner and breakfast to the Peak. When we reached to the bottom
it was around 3 p.m. on the 17th of August 2008.

catholic Portugeuse. It was known as SRI PADA to Buddhists and
SIVANOLI PADA MALAI to Hindus.
Muslim and Christians make bogus claims over the Hindu and Buddhist
shrines for a long time.
