If you are from foreign parts and have plenty of money you can do
worse than go to Spier and have their braai -http://www.spier.co.za/
whattodoatspier/moyo.htm - it is a clip joint of course, for tourists,
but it is quite a good clip joint.
Actually the best braai with authentically burned chops is probably to
be found in somebody's garden. Even though it is winter there are some
wamish sunny days (today, for example) that would be fine for a mid-
afternoon braai.
You really are a stupid little prat aren't you.
I tend to get mine from Woolworths, as Peter suggested, simply because
it is the best one can get in any place without schlepping halfway
across town in traffic. Works for me in Johannesburg, anyway. I had
their thin chicken wors last Saturday, Hmm. I'm hungry. Haven't had
breakfast yetl.
Thanks. It does seem that the main supermarkets are the best place place to
get them. I often (when I'm in South Africa) also get tomato or cheese wors
because I find them to be much juicer. During the last couple of trips over
there I was a bit disappointed with the quality of the meat in general but
it could be because (through absence) I've over-exagerrated to myself just
how good it used to be. Or maybe it's because the market for the higher
quality meat is much larger these days.
I'll be arriving next weekend and will be there for two weeks. It's partly
a business trip so alas my family wont be with me this time but I have a
house full of Malaysian relatives here right now who are visiting until the
end of June so another week of this and I'll be so glad to get away to some
peace and quiet.
For an idiotic question, you get stupid answer - you idiot
do you really need Internet to find out what is obvious?
You are pain in but pretending to be educated....
So you consider it idiotic to seek advice on shopping for quality.
Like I said you are a prat.
Like I said, you are a idiot. And someone asking where to buy
boerewors in CT is even bigger one.
Where do you buy ice cubes in Canada, you prick...
So you consider it idiotic to seek advice on shopping for quality.
Like I said you are a prat.

Frank is a rather sad creature. His gruntings on this ng speak for
themselves - no response is necessary.
'Glad to see you posting here again Norman.
At a liquor store you arsehole. Which liquor store is immaterial as
ice is ice with no discernable variations in temperature or taste.
However boerewors varies considerably, dependant recipe of the maker.
Do we have to keep trying to educate you every time you post or is
your brain totally dead?
I pop in & read occasionally. I had forgotten that this Jenicek was
frank. Now I know I was correct & he IS brain-dead. Enjoy your trip.
BTW I get fantastic wors in Edmonton at Betsy's Boerewors on Calgary
trail. She also does a melk tert to die for amongst other za
delicacies.
I never in my mind expected you answering my question...
It tells me how primitive you are - and you don't get it. Oh my....
Don't say ... now you confusing CT with Edmonton. Must be your old age...
Your stupidity is excused. Next time please read the Subject line.
> I never in my mind expected you answering my question...
Oh come on franky baby, lets not dwell in the realms of fantasy you
know you haven't got a mind. Ah well nevermind Eh?
Frank, as you don't understand English please would you post in an
eastern European language group.
Morman - as usual - must have the last stupid comment....
Your usual crap of uneducated Morman - can you do better next time?
> Morman - as usual - must have the last stupid comment....
& I bet you can't see the irony of that post

As long as you see how childish you are - must be your old age...
Chicken wors! Isn't that an Australian thing? I say that because there's
an Aussie girl at work who's always carping on about how good the chicken
sausages in Oz are.
Generally you can't go far wrong with Woolies food-wise. They definately
sell the best marmalade both here and in South Africa - it's the only kind
(besides home made) that my family enjoy. Which reminds me.... It's
strawberry picking season here in the UK soon - always a good family day
out. After an afternoon of picking and eating strawberries, those which
make it home get turned into jam. Hopefully all the rain we've had here
recently hasn't adversely affected the fruit too much. And towards the end
of summer we'll be off to the West Country "picking apples" (well, cider
drinking really- I just tell my sons we're going apple picking). ;-)
Pop into the Coronation Tap in Clifton, Bristol on your way down, they
have a very good selection of top ciders - there is a first rate
butcher just around the corner who used to do excellent boerewors and
very juicy biltong as well as many other delights.
I sometimes find scrumpy nicer than cider, even if it is a little
lumpier...
The Bell in Banwell used to serve a mean pint of scrumpy & there is a
pub in Wells, whose name my memory has obliterated, where I got drunk
for the 1st time at the age of 17 on 2 pints of an orangey green
scrumpy with as Peter says with lumps in it
Moira,
It has been some time since I was in Cape Town. There was a butcher near
the beginning of Long street, Morris The Butcher, who made incredible
wors. Do you know if he is still around?
-Paul
Man, Moira lives in Juberg - Auckland Park....
=============
Yes I mean Marks and Spencer. I'm not sure why in South Africa they call
themselves Woolworths. As far as I know, everywhere else around the world
they are officially known as "Marks and Spencer".
I'll make a turn at the Coronation Tap when I am next down there. In the
past I used to be in that part of the world several times a year but these
days it's more likely to be once or at most twice a year - my connections
with the area are literally dying out.

He's almost certainly older most of the posters on this ng..
I'll go and have a butcher's (sorry, I couldn't resist that) in Long Street
when I'm there next week. You said the beginning of Long Street.... I take
it you mean the foreshore end? So that I can gauge the likelyhood of them
still being there today, how long ago did you still know them to exist?
