You would probably need to narrow the range genre-wise considerably.
We have good South African artists and CDs in every range from
classical, gospel, jazz, pop,through to township music like kwaito
which has earned both praise and censure from Nelson Mandela. We also
have music in a variety of languages.

Good feedback. I'm interested in the music that come out of places like
Soweto. Or what you suggested Kwaito and even Xhosa music. Could you
recommend some top artists?

Not a clue. I am into the classical range, and keep tabs on some of
the jazz and gospel stuff. I'm not sure where you would access
that, but I could ask around at work and at the CD shops - what's
selling in that line.

I am quite keen on Dollar Brand (aka Abdullah Ibrahim), few of his pieces
are not a delight.
