Now I wonder what the actual crux of the slur was?

Is it that the DJ suggested that Karike had experienced a *sies*
thing called a piel or was it because it was a *Black* (more
sies??) piel that caused the offence. Looks like the
draad-trekking dominees who used to watch all the porno movies
for the Aparheid regime are still employed to act as moral
guardians in SAfrica.

Ag shame ... I'm actually surprised that the ANC still tolerate
and Aparheid Afrikaaner icon such as Karike to still wail her
dated patriotic kultuur flavoured crap, let alone alow her to
win money from a happy go luck DJ who was just out to have some
fun.

Perhaps Auntie K can sit at home tonight and ponder her actions -
attacking one of her own kind and attempt to rob him of his
income.

Could it be that the ANC as watching and grinning in the
background ... for once they don'rt have to administer corporal
punishment on the Afrikaaners - now they're managing all on their
own!!

Slur on singer costs DJ dearly

JOHANNESBURG -- Popular Afrikaans singer Carike Keuzenkamp was
yesterday awarded R30000 in damages by the Broadcasting
Complaints Commission after her name was included in a comedy
sketch by Highveld Stereo DJ Jeremy Mansfield.

Mansfield, who presents the Rude Awakening Show, was found to
have humiliated Keuzenkamp by using her name in a parody of a
quiz show which he called Raai Wat (Guess What).

In the sketch a guest would try to guess the nature of a mystery
object, already known to the audience.

Mansfield's mystery object was "'n swartman se piel" (a black
man's penis).

Commission chairperson Ratha Mokgoatlheng found that the
broadcast had caused Keuzenkamp distress and exposed her to
humiliation and degradation by associating her with the
"offending, vulgar, lewd and profane broadcast thus depicting
(her) publicly in a false light.

"The commission finds that the respondent's broadcast was an
invasion of the complainant's right to privacy and consequently
constituted an impairment of her dignity."

The commission suspended R10000 of the fine for one year on
condition that Highveld Stereo did not contravene Clause Five of
the commission's code, which orders the electronic media to
exercise exceptional care and consideration in matters concerning
the private lives and dignity of individuals.

The balance of the fine is to be paid within 10 days.

An apology agreed to by both parties will be broadcast next
Monday on the Rude Awakening Show. -- Sapa
