Happy Somalia Day to all Somalis.

On the occasion of the Somalia Day, I would like to ask you to join me in
extending our appreciation to the founding fathers of our beloved Somalia.
They worked very hard to create a great country but we have all destroyed it.

Salutes to the 13 member Somali Youth League founders
Salutes to all members of Somali Youth Club.

I also extend my sincere appreciation to a true Somali Legend, Mohamed Awale
Liban, for the leadership and the pride he has provided to all Somalis every
where in designing the Somali Flag ( Awaale, Maandeeq, Bluuglay).

According to Mohamed Awale Liban, the light blue with a large white
five-pointed star in the center represents the land, the sky and seas of
Somalia in the following manner:

- The white five-pointed star represents the five Somalilands in which the
Colonial powers had divided the Somaliland.

- The blue colour represents Somalia's always blue sky and the 1700 KM/Miles (?)
of the blue coastal line and the blue seas.

On the Somali National day, say hello to the aging legend Mohamed Awale Liban
who lives in Toronto Tel # 416 665 9177. He will appreciate calls from those
who love Somalia.

Once Again Happy Somalia Day. A new born-again Somalia. Only this time, fall
in the hands of the good guys. And long live Somalia.

Dear Burhan,

Just let us look closely on this great 'Somalia Day'. Before the Somali
National day, this aging legend, Mohamed Awale, had a home, a city,
friends and families who were living side by side with harmony.
Thirty seven years after that 'Great Somalia day', Mr. Awale is homeless
in a place where trees are naked on its winter and humans on its summer.
He is thousands of miles away from those beautiful peaceful beaches of
Lido. And there is a good chance in which his burial may never take place
in his beloved city. This is indeed a day of mourning.
Somalia Day has not yet arrived.

Regards,
Mahmoud.

Dear Burhan;

Thanks for reminding us the Legend Mohamed Awale Liban who truely
provided us more than a leadership by designing this beautifull and
ubiquitous flag.

The Legendary Mohamed Awale Liban deserves our gratitude and
appreciation. As soon as I get off the work, I will call him
to thank his efforts because it is unforgettable and undeniable.

Long Live Somalia.

Yaa Salaam

Dear brother perhaps since "the founding fathers" forgot to including the
other half of the population " the founding mothers", perhaps, the eventual
fight over Mandeeq have been sealed a proiri.

Only, mandeeq(II) will have to be found other grounds and myths than
clanist partriarchal philosophy.
If we refuse to do so, then, I can assure you, they will fight over
this raq again.

May our sisters and brothers who liberated our people from the
shakles of foreign enemies be rewarded if not in the world in the
world after with the blessing of their Lord.
Dear brother Burhan, I do not think, 'founding' is the right word in
describing our situation. We were, are and will be Somali people.

maaynaan amban, nalamana soo helin. Reer galbeetka doonaya inay
Maraykanku siduu u
adeegsandu kelmada "founding fathers" ayaa tusaale waxaagsan naga
siinaysa sida taarikhahaan beenta ah oo ay u damceen inay taariikhda
Markaykanka ku koobaan ilaa iyo 300 oo sano oo uu cadaanka xukunkiisa
kadib markii ay xasuuqeen dadkii wadnaka u dhashay. Sidaa awgeed waxay
isku dayeen inay ku andacoodaan inay helay wadanka isagoo cidlo ah!

Sidaa iyo ciid wanaagsan.
