Same to you. Shoot off a few fireworks....just not too near the
border.
don't tell em that, they're huge as it is.
Silly boy, [most canucks] are not allowed to play with dangerous explosives
such as firecrackers, since we've proven to be irresponsible in that regard
....;). So, although most of us live near the border, y'all are safe.
'sides which, we like Obama ... :)

PS: btw, are Merks still suing McDonald's for making them fat? :) :)
occasionally--ever since McDonald's quit settling out of court, they
have been finding other ways to make easy money...

next stop, Nunavut
They're about to sue *Tim Hortons* I believe. The concept of the suite
being, if *Timmy's* can put an outlet in Afghanistan for the Canadiqan
troops, then surely *Timmy's* can put one in Canada's far north, for
Canadian citizens. Sounds fair to me.

Typical stereotypical Yurp statement.
You don't hear us going on about how "Thrifty" all Scots are, now do you?

By all means do! It's quite true for the most part. "Stingy" on the
other hand ;-)
Indeed. Thrifty and stingy are not at all the same.
I have noticed that people of a certain age who have lived through and
remember the Depression years are among the thriftiest of all people,
despite all the money they may have banked. This isn't a judgment,
btw, just an interesting phenomenon WRT to people who recall the
trauma of "losing it all".

Their thriftiness may well be the _reason_ they have money in the bank...
But, many of them are afraid to spend it, to spend money on
themselves. Money sitting in the bank accumulating until they die
does them no good. I actually had a banker friend comment on this.
He said that elderly little ladies, especially, would come to the
teller, withdraw 20 or 30 dollars from an otherwise abundant account
feeling guilty about not leaving enough for the kids when they are
gone. He's the one that told me that this was Depression-era
mentality.

Truth, as beauty, is oft in the eye of the beholder.
(Ay dingies, that were a good'ern)
Dingies? Isn't that a small boat you use to get to your yacht?

Dingies? You've lost me pal!
I think he meant "dinghies."
(He's very "inteligent," you know.)
Sailing Awa,
The Phantom Piper
and you took one up the asse from the Native Americans. Guess you got
to tidy up all over again.
Sorry Miz Helen, bad joke, PP got it.
BTW, what is a dingies?
I'm certain that must make some sort of sense within the
mothed-out hollow corridors of your brain, but for those of
us who are _not_ dwelling in a Permanent Acid Flashback,
it merely seems obtuse.
(I do enjoy your Olde-Timey spelling of the word "ass," though...)
Glad I'm Not You,

Short for Dingleberries; bend over - no, further...
...further still - now, look *Up*. You see them?
Yes, there - that's what Dingies are.

Like dangleberries but bigger/smaller ?
;-)

And finally, for your gustatorial delectation:
http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/dingleberry
I quote:
"Vaccinium Erythrocarpum, the dingleberry,
sometimes produces berries of excellent flavour,
which are used locally for jellies."
Would You Like Some On Toast?,
The Phantom Piper
No.
It derives from "Dangies" which derives from "Durn" which derives from
"Damn".
As I just explained, dingies, dangies, durn, damn.
As in "Gosh durn" and other such euphemisms
Mountain slang, Scotty.
An inoffensive shortcut to "Aye Damn"
Yes, I see them.
They bear a strong resemblence to you.
Apparently there are "jurisdictional differences" in the meaning of
the words such that a dingleberry is often close to a dangleberry but
not necessarily in the same sense IYSWIM. ;-)
