Which makes one wonder what did people do before the era of protective
creams. I am tempted to say that malignant melanoma is a "new" disease, but
I think it has been around forever; it has just only in the last century or
two that it has been identified and studied as a rather unique malignancy.

Great. As I recall, Scotland led the world in death
by Cardiac Disease (deep-fried Mars Bar, anyone?)
and was a close contender (with Japan? - or was it
Russia?) in Alcoholism. Now, it's greater melanoma
rates than hot baked Australia?!
