In case you thought it was just an aberrant moment of lunacy when Lieberman
pressed General Petraeus for an attack on Iran, just before the weekend he
introduced an amendment to the defense bill to authorize exactly that.
No, we are not kidding. He has drafted language that any impartial observer
would interpret as a DECLARATION OF WAR against Iran, and he is pressing for a
vote as fast as possible.
Here is the language from the amendment:
"(3) that it should be the policy of the United States to combat, contain, and
roll back the violent activities and destabilizing influence inside Iraq of
the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran, its foreign facilitators such
as Lebanese Hezbollah, and its indigenous Iraqi proxies;
"(4) to support the prudent and calibrated use of all instruments of United
States national power in Iraq, including diplomatic, economic, intelligence,
and military instruments, in support of the policy described in paragraph (3)
with respect to the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran and its
proxies."
The policy of the U.S should be to "combat" Iran with "all" "military
instruments"?!? You can be absolutely certain that those are the ONLY words
Dick Cheney and George Bush will see or care about.

No matter what one thinks of Iran and Ahmadinejad, the policy of the United
States towards this nation are being manipulated by the powerful Israel lobby
for the interests of Israel. The expansion of the Iraq occupation into an
invasion would be of enormous cost to the US, which is already bogged down. US
foreign policy, as Ron Paul says, should be carried out for US interests
alone.

Americans only if they are Jewish or patriotic israelis. Has no time for
patriotic Americans and only interested in keeping them voting for him.
Shame we have no politicians in America as deeply devoted to the non jewish
and/or patriotic Americans who actually provide the man power for these wars
.
Would have joined the republicaans but tat would have lost him a few of the
donkey democratic voters that apparently slavishly still vote for him and
others like him.
