Just because the recipe says "use an electric whisk" to beat butter,
doesn't mean it's a good idea unless you want a coating of brandy
butter over most of your kitchen.......

Merry Christmas everyone.

You can buy plastic circle thingies that
fit round the whisk and cover the bowl .
I knew I needed one the time I did the
same thing with pancake batter.

Merry Christmas any way -
The language would be colourful and those sparks
would also be very festive.

Always profusely thank the kindly appliance repairman for responding to an
emergency call-out when oven blows up.

(And just what's wrong with having Brandy Butter
all over your kitchen?!)

Same to you, and a very Happy New Year!

Having learned to cook at school a long, long time ago, I remembered
my training and mixed it with a fork over a Bain marie to soften the
butter a bit more.
The kitchen smells lovely, the pud's on its final boil.

My oven died last year, just when it was my turn to host and do the
main course. After taking the legs off the turkey, I managed to get it
into the combi-oven and it turned out lovely!
This year I've just got to hike up the road (through sleet by the
looks of things) with a hot pudding in one thermo bag and icecream in
another.
Now to phone the rellies.

Nothing that results in a woman covered in brandy butter can be all
bad...
