Renowned band leader dies
One of Scotland's best loved country dance band leaders has died.
Jim MacLeod recorded dozens of albums, broadcast regularly, and toured
the world in a career spanning half a century.
He became known as the artist who could always fill a dance floor.
Mr MacLeod often played for the Queen at Balmoral and received an MBE
for his services to Scottish country music.

Always a shame when one of the stalwarts of a scene passes on. I do hope
the MBE was for Scottish country (ie contre) dance music as I somehow
don't see Elizabeth line dancing :))
x-posts left in place - hi ya there, celts and cults :))
