there was TV news film of the dead bodies and "witnesses".
Allegedly journalists aren't allowed everywhere in Kosovo.
But here of all places they are on the scene within hours

The Serbs take responsibility for the safety and security of the Kosovars.
Were not these people murdered in Serb-controlled areas?
Let me put it in another way. About 15 years ago, when Lebanon was a mess
and in a civil war and Beirut looked like something out of one of "The
Terminator" movie sets, the Israeli forces occupied large parts of southern
Lebanon and a large Muslim population came under their control of the
Israelis. One night it must have been about 250 Muslims in the shanties of
Shabra and Shatila (?) who had their throats cut...men, women, and children.
There was gore and blood everywhere. It must have been the most shocking
event that year. The Israeli troops said they didn't do it, although in a
different world in which they could get away with it, they might have done
it. Rather it turns out they let the Druze (Maronite Christians) who were
also enemies of these Muslims come in and do the murders for them while they
looked the other way. The Israeli troops were the ones that were supposed to
watch the chicken house for chickens they never much liked, but instead they
let the foxes in.
Who is responsible for the murders of the Lebanese Muslims? You take a good
guess, then think about your answer when you consider what is happening in
Kosovo.

Scum is not scum necessarily because it has intelligence and knows how to be
cunning in doing its evil. The Serbs may be a case where you can be scum and
also be stupid.
As far as being careful about investigating the nature of these murders, do
you see NATO war birds strafing the Serbs now? Of course, not. We are going
to give you Serbs time enough (but not that much time!) to sort all this out
and show us who the culprits are with convincing evidence. It's not
necessary to apprehend the culprits--especially if in fact they are Albanians
killing their own to draw NATO fire. Just be methodical and show us the
proof of your claims of innocence.

I guess it is just the case that Serbs seem to engender ill will from others
through no fault of their own? Yeah, right. I think the term "ethnic
cleansing" originated about 10 years ago from a ministry spokesperson in
Belgrade, by the way. Don't tell me about the descendants of generations of
people who have lived on the same land and house for hundreds of years being
squatters in Serbian territory. Tell it to the dispossessed who had home in
eastern Bosnia. The Croats did in the Krajina something similar to what they
saw Serbs doing elsewhere. Got to take it if you're going to dish it out.

Did I ever say the Croats shouldn't make amends? I dare you to find a post
where I absolved the Croats of their criminal behavior, you prick. The Croats
AND the Bosnian Muslims guilty of war crimes should all be called to book, and
dealt with in the harshest terms. (I believe the death penalty should be
applied, but I am told by "human rights" groups that I am a barbar for wanting
to punish savage killers thusly.) I am all with you for using NATO force for
bombing the hell out of Croats if forces organized as the Serbs are in Kosovo

Perhaps I was a bit excessive in characterizing all Serbs as a subhuman savage
race. There are probably one or two worth the powder to blow them to hell.

I should add that holding a degree doesn't matter too much in life. Don't be
impressed by people with 25 full-stopped letters after their names. Hear the
kinds of things they have to say and judge what comes out of the mouth. FYI,
I have completed a Ph.D. program in a science discipline. Now does that

It's news to me that NATO is working with the KLA in a conspiratorial attempt
to deprive the Serbs of their territorial rights. You have evidence for this

Sure some Turks would die. But you and I know, sir, what made the Ottoman
Turks the most feared individual on the planet with a sword and horse. That
is not to say the modern-day Turk is equally as frightening, but they

I have responded to this nonsense of the fighting ability of the Turkish
soldier elsewhere. You obviously know nothing of what you are talking about.
The Turkish soldier is particularly suited for the conditions under which a
ground assault force would be sent in to secure Kosovo. They have 1. the
experience of mountain-side fighting in wintry conditions and 2. the fighting
spirit (they have a mutual enmity for Serbs, and now I see why that Turks at
least despise the Serbs).
Just ask Greece why they don't assert militarily what they claim are their
rights against the Turks, if you want an idea of how strong Turkey is.

No "superpower" is truly a superpower in terms of dominating mercilessly a
region as large (or small?) as Serbia or Kosovo. Even Roman soldiers had to
deal with rebellious outbreaks which eventually nibbled away at the empire.
The US, along with the UN, has an interest in seeing an end to the
bloodletting caused by racism/nationalism that is occurring in Kosovo and
elsewhere. At no time did the US ever endorse a "free" independent Kosovo as
wanted by the KLA. They just want to see a compromise solution that ends the
killing. It's as simple as that.
But when the KLA will not compromise and the Serbs respond with a force
intended only to subjugate and humiliate the Albanian Kosovars, then it's
time for the world to step in. If it had been the KLA doing all the killing
and eating its way to Belgrade, I believe NATO would be called to demand a
stop to it as well.
The US has learned the lessons of Viet Nam. The US went into the Gulf War
because America was behind it: the purpose to stop a monstrous invasion of
one state by another. The war came to an end with the liberation of that
state. A mission of defined purpose, and achieved rather quickly.
I rather think the American population is repulsed by events in Kosovo as
well, and would endorse American military involvement as part of a NATO war
effort. Take a poll of Joe and Jane American on the street, asking the
question of whether America should do something about Kosovo. Probably 6 in
10 say 'yes.' Is America really behind it then? You answer.

The "bodies" in the news footage were all fakes. The "tears" of the
distraught relatives were deserving of an oscar. American media doesn't
report the news: It writes it.
NATO/Hague/US/UN all have no right to judge renegade troops in any other
Nations armed forces. This duty lies with the armed forces from which
these people come from!
If they are found guilty, then they should be docked a months pay or
something, or perhaps even discharged from duty. In extreme cases, perhaps
even imprisoned for a few weeks.
