I can guess that you (or rather your ancestors) are from Kandahar, a city
in Afghanistan not far from the Pakistan border.

Were your ancestors ever settled down in KANDHAR, Afghanistan?
Could be an AL?

I have not heard of this surname.

The gnostics are the living christs(satgurus) of the Living God, PAAR
BRAHM. Say ALLAH HOO AKBAR.

They go by the holy spirit, SURTTI, and they do not follow the
"letters" of the Holy Books blindly. They themselves being solitary
and FREE in spirit, do not take any body for his words but rather
discuss "Logo" through "logical" reasoning, VICHAAR. Their motto is
ASK, SEEK AND KNOCK.

"HOLY SPIRIT SHATTERS THE FETTERS OF THE LETTERS"

He is a Sikh, and this means all labels like jaTT, choohrAA etc are
meaningless.

Don't be racist.
