What is the most attractive thing in the whole universe to us?
Women of course ! And Islam goes against the very nature of humanity
by forbidding any representation in paintings , cinema , theaters ,
passport photos and instead we have to waste all our precious lives
praying and praising an Allah who mercifully doesnt exist.

haaretz.

Islam forbids the representation of the human form in painting and
sculpture. So there was good reason to think that the art gallery that
was opened in the city six years ago would pose a severe test to the
resurgent religious revival. Three weeks ago, on a Saturday, the
Islamic way of life found itself confronting the artistic experience:
Cars and buses drove up the steep hill, carrying hundreds of Jews who
had come to take part in the opening of an exhibition in which more
than 300 works by Jewish and Arab artists were on display "in the
spirit of reconciliation and coexistence." The Tel Avivians filled the
gallery, partook of the sweet baklava, and felt the same uplifting of
tormented spirit that descends on them in demonstrations against the
occupation.

Dr. Aghrabia, wearing a white shirt and with an inviting smile for
everyone, shook dozens of hands, while Said Abu-Shakra, the director
of the gallery and the curator of the exhibition, buzzed around him
like a worker bee. Three days later, Abu-Shakra reports that the event
was a great success, noting that neighbors invited visitors to their
homes and that some visitors dined in restaurants along the city's
main street. A few hundred meters away, and a few breathtaking twists
and turns from the gallery, Tawfik Ariar, the editor-in-chief of Sawt
al-Haq, says he heard the event was "pretty successful."

I ask him why he is adopting a reserved tone and he reveals that it is
due in particular to the "immodest" attire of some of the female
guests. Immodest dress does not frighten Abu-Shakra. Nor does the fact
that the gallery he runs is an innovation to which the local residents
have yet to adapt. Nudity, of course, is out of the question in the
gallery. The result of all this is that the initial exposure of the
residents of Umm al-Fahm to the world of art lies in the realm of the
abstract. That may be easier to take from the religious point of view,
but harder from every other point of view.

Abu-Shakra does not term himself "religious." He does not pray every
day, only on holidays and "sometimes on Fridays." For the past 23
years, he has made his living as a police officer - he now holds the
rank of superintendent - but is proud to be related to Sheikh Raad
Salah (the leader of the Islamic Movement is his cousin). The Islamic
Movement, Abu-Shakra says, is not against art: Sheikh Radd is himself
a "true artist" and a poet.

Said followed his late brother, Assam Abu-Shakra - who is well-known
for his paintings and drawings of the sabra plant - into the art
world. Said studied art at the college of painting in Ramat Hasharon,
and he intends to strengthen the awareness of art in the city by means
of an educational center for youth, which he established adjacent to
the gallery. His roots are scattered all over the country, he says,
and you can't simply rip up roots like that. He also points out that
even if he is not a Zionist, he is definitely a pioneer. Our fathers
built this land for you, the Jews, he says, and now you are not
allowing us to enjoy the fruits of their labor. He cites a personal
example of the shared Jewish-Arab fate that the Jews disavow: His
daughter, who is nearly 14, barely escaped death in the terrorist bus
bombing two months ago at Mus Mus Junction, in Wadi Ara. The terrorist
asked her where the bus was going and got on after her. A second
before the driver punched her card, she spotted some girlfriends in
another bus at the stop, switched buses and saved her life. A few
residents of Umm al-Fahm were wounded in the blast, and one woman lost
a leg. The bomber, then, knew for certain that he was going to kill
Arab youngsters. The hostile media played down the story, Abu-Shakra
says, and the cabinet ministers ignored the Arabs who were hurt in the
incident.

The media are definitely malevolent, Tawfik Ariar, the editor of Sawt
al-Haq, agrees. He complains about the importance that the media
attributed to the arrest of residents of Umm al-Fahm who were
suspected of engaging in hostile activity and then ignored the fact
that most of them were released without being charged. The current
mayor, Dr. Aghrabia, was also arrested on several occasions on
suspicion of transferring funds to the Hamas organization, but he has
never been formally charged. Two weeks ago, Border Policemen raided
the offices of the Islamic Movement in the city and confiscated
equipment and documents, citing a similar suspicion. The last time
proof was provided of the involvement of residents of Umm al-Fahm in
hostile activity was in 1992, when four of the city's residents killed
three army new recruits with axes and pitchforks near Kibbutz Gilad.

Under Islam, a woman is not allowed to have an opinion.
So, excuse me! Did you say something?
I believe the posters question is far deeper than he intended it to be.

Islam is anti human because it's followers are not human. There don't have
to be anti human though because there are lots of animals that are not
anti human.

800 every night infected in Bombay alone
46% of general population in Bombay carry an active sexually
transmitted disease (the greatest risk factor for HIV spread)
Level of HIV infection in Bombay among STD clinic attendees rose from
4% in 1990 to 36% in 1994
Level of HIV currently 2.5% across the city
Similar urban infection levels and risk factors in other developing
countries have led in almost every case to city-wide rates of 15-20% or more
of all sexually active adults
Compared to countries like Uganda in 1988 (similar stage) there seems
far less urgency in the official response
AIDS ward in Calcutta paid for by World Bank is padlocked because no
doctors and nurses can be found in the city to care for those with AIDS
In May a woman and her baby testing positive for HIV were thrown out of
a government hospital
In another hospital those with AIDS have their beds marked with a large
cross
Near the Burmese border there are reports that some drug users testing
positive have been shot
India already has more HIV cases than any other nation

04:34

Men are in charge of women, because Allah hath made the one of them to
excel the other, and because they spend of their property (for the
support of women). So good women are the obedient, guarding in secret
that which Allah hath guarded. As for those from whom ye fear
rebellion, admonish them and banish them to beds apart, and scourge
them. Then if they obey you, seek not a way against them. Lo! Allah is
ever High, Exalted, Great.

love,
prabhu.

Christianity dictates women are to be treated similarly. The difference is
in Christianity women are to submit to the husband as the husband submits to
God, and the husband is to treat the woman as God treats the man. As you
describe, there is nothing for a Muslim woman but to be a compliant good
slave or a beaten bad slave to be treated as the man dictates. Another
example of the subtle, yet very clear when it is pointed out, deceptiveness
of Allah.

if we talk of it in relation to the animal kingdon, we see that the
female of any species (bar the matriarchal ones - queen bee, black
widow), we find that the male indeed occupies the pre-eminent place.

its rather strange that the arabs of saudi were different from those
of egypt. after all, the ancient egyptians were a matriarchal society.

Your reply makes as much sense as if I said to you "good morning" and you
replied "the pie is burnt".
Given that, I'll ask, "If apples grow on trees then how can Islamic women
cook outside?"

All religions are anti-human, more specifically, those based on the
Bible. Judaism, Christianism, and Islam are very anti-human religions.
Not to say that hinduism is any better, of course.

Cheers,

excerpt jpost.com
But today, the stability argument has become downright obscene. It is
widely understood that in hundreds of madrassas and thousands of
mosques, from Karachi to Los Angeles, the Saudis have spent billions
of dollars promoting a Wahabi fanaticism that preaches nothing less
than the destruction of Western civilization. If theis fanaticism,
which reared its head on September 11, is allowed to obtain weapons of
mass destruction, it will no doubt practice what it preaches. Thus,
destroying Wahabism, while not sufficient, is certainly a necessary
condition for the successful prosecution of the war on terror. And as
America is now beginning to realize, destroying Wahabism cannot be
done without shaking the House of Saud to its foundations.

At the beginning of the century, Prince Abdel Aziz, who fathered each
of the four subsequent Saudi kings, used the religious fervor stirred
by Wahabism to conquer his kingdom. Today, Wahabism is still used by
Abdel Aziz's progeny to rule Saudi Arabia. Instead of using their
geographic fortune to ensure a better future for their subjects after
the wells run dry, the Saudi royals have kept their country's vast
petro-wealth largely to themselves. To mask their grotesque profligacy
and prop up their repressive regime at home, the Saudis practice
Wahabism within their borders and export its destructive ideology
abroad.

The first Saudi king eventually understood the dangers that Wahabism
posed to his rule. When his intoxicated followers wanted to continue
their conquest beyond Saudi Arabia, Abdel Aziz, warned by imperial
Britain that it would not tolerate such a move, turned on his own
"holy warriors."
But the holy warriors that his sons have paid off for generations in
order to remain in power are well beyond the control of the current
tyrants in Riyadh. Incapable of destroying the demons it has
unleashed, the Saudi regime will surely appease them further. That is
why the Saudi regime is an enemy of the US and the entire free world.
Far from serving as a "stable" bulwark checking Islamic fanaticism,
the very survival of the regime depends on the expansion of that
fanaticism.
For a century, the embrace of Wahabism helped keep the royals in
Riyadh in power. But in the wake of September 11, the House of Saud
has effectively become a house of cards.
