Arvind Patel’s body awaits postmortem at VS Hospital in Ahmedabad on
Sunday evening. He was shot dead allegedly by his father, builder Amrut
Patel. An Asian Age photograph
Top Ahmedabad builder Amrut Patel shot his 37-year-old son Arvind Patel
at a farmhouse on the outskirts of the city on Sunday afternoon. The
police said a land dispute led to the murder.
Patel allegedly pumped in three bullet from his foreign-made revolver
into his son’s chest in presence of the victim’s younger brother
Virendra Patel and brother in-law Dharmendra Patel at their farmhouse
near Makarba village in Sarkhej.
An injured Arvind was taken to Prerna Heart Research Centre, where he
was declared dead in the evening at around 6.45 on Sunday. The dead body
has been lying in the postmortem room of VS Hospital since 7.45 in the
evening. Forensic experts will conduct the postmortem on Monday morning.
Senior officials of the Ahmedabad Rural police, led by superintendent
Rajnish Rai, and local Crime Branch officials raided the farmhouse,
Santivan, late on Sunday evening searching more clues. Mr P.P. Pande,
deputy superintendent of the police, with crime branch’s R.K. Patel
joined the investigating team to prepare a fool-proof and chronological
report of the incident as the police fears pressure to hush up the
matter as it concerns an influential businessman.
A case has been registered with the Sarkhej police and the first
information report mentions three names including the victim father,
brother Virendra Patel, and brother in-law Dharmendra Patel. All three
have been charged under Sections 302 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code and
Section 25/1/C of the Arms Act. However, no one was arrested till late
night, as the main accused, Amrut Patel, has allegedly faked illness and
sought admission first in Prerna Heart Research Centre. After his son
died at the clinic, he was transferred to the Karnavati Hospital in
Paldi area.
He is admitted in the Intensive Cardiac Care Unit on the seventh floor
of the private hospital where his condition was stated to be “very much”
stable.
“He is under supervision of Dr R.K. Patel and there is nothing serious,”
a Karnavati nurse told The Asian Age, seeking anonymity.
“Since Amrut has claimed he has suffered a cardiac attack, we can’t
arrest him though preliminary investigations revealed that he opened
fire on Arvind,” Ahmedabad Rural police superintendent Rajneesh Rai told
The Asian Age on Sunday evening. On the other hand, investigating
officers rushed to Sarkhej to detain the sole witness to the incident.

Apparently, the post is in response to Jai Maharaj's posts, which take everyday
reports and label them "Muslim violence", "Christian violence" etc. Jai Maharaj
needs to have his scrotum and penis removed to physically identify him as the
hijra that he is.

It doesn't matter what you do or don't read. The point is that Jai Maharaj has
turned these newsgroups into a useless war-zone between Pakistanis and Indians,
Muslims and Hindus, Christians and Hindus, etc., and he deserves to be strung
out on the end of a line as chum for sharks.
