Why is it that most of these sexual abusing doctors are from Moslem
countries? Is there something in the koran that says "Go ye healers and
molest children."?

Disgraced doctor may leave, lawyers suggest
Wednesday October 24, 2001
Brian Caldwell
Kitchener Waterloo Record

With his house up for sale and no way for authorities to hold him,
there is
speculation a former Cambridge psychiatrist might leave the country
following his conviction for professional misconduct involving young
male
patients. "I leave open entirely the possibility he's already gone or
will
be gone in the immediate future,'' said assistant Crown attorney Mike
Murdoch, who unsuccessfully prosecuted Dr. Allan
Khitab on 11 sex-related criminal charges in January.

Khitab, 64, had steadfastly maintained his innocence after being
charged by
Waterloo regional police in 1999 with sexually abusing several
vulnerable
boys who went to him for help at Cambridge Memorial Hospital. But in a
surprise move last week, he pleaded guilty at a hearing of the Ontario
College of Physicians and Surgeons to one count of misconduct involving
"boundary violations of a sexual nature" with five male patients.

Khitab was immediately stripped of his licence and signed an
undertaking,
to be included in public records, that he will never again practise
medicine or psychotherapy anywhere in the world. In light of Khitab's
admission of misconduct, Murdoch has said he will review a transcript of
the disciplinary proceedings with a view to laying perjury or
obstruction
of justice charges.

Another possibility, he said, would be reviving outstanding criminal
charges involving two victims that the Crown chose not to pursue after
Khitab was acquitted earlier this year. In the meantime, Khitab isn't
under any legal restrictions and is free to leave the country, a
possibility that also worries a lawyer representing a young Cambridge
man
in a civil lawsuit against the former psychiatrist, the hospital and the
college.

"I think he may (leave),'' said James Neeb, whose client was one of the
victims in the professional case against Khitab. "I can't get any
restraining order with respect to his person or his possessions until I
have a judgment.''

Khitab hasn't returned repeated telephone calls since his disciplinary
hearing and his large home on a five-acre (two-hectare) lot near Paris,
which is up for sale for $419,000, was deserted yesterday. A neighbour
has
said Khitab also sold most of the 13 classic cars in his prized
collection,
including a Rolls-Royce, to pay legal bills.

Despite the speculation, Khitab's son, Aaron, said his father hasn't
left
the country and doesn't intend to, although pleading guilty to
professional
misconduct "wasn't our original plan of action.'' He refused to say
where
his father is.

"He's not here,'' said the younger Khitab in a brief telephone interview
from his Toronto home yesterday. "Maybe he just wants some peace and
quiet.'' If the disgraced doctor did flee, Neeb said he would proceed
with
a civil suit seeking $1.2 million in
damages from Khitab, plus a similar amount from both the hospital and
the
college.
And if he won a judgment against Khitab in his absence, he said, he
could
use it as the basis to sue him wherever he had moved to, in effect
asking
another jurisdiction to uphold the Ontario decision.

Murdoch said the Crown would attempt to place restrictions on Khitab if
it
decided to pursue either new or outstanding criminal charges, but it
will
take time to determine the best course of action.

There were also concerns Khitab had fled for good following his
acquittal
in January, but he returned after a three-month trip to Scotland, India
and
Pakistan vowing to fight his remaining legal battles.

Some of the most caring and humane Doctors are Muslim. Don't go blaming
them for ignaramouses in the middle east.

Heretofore Muslims have been known only as throat cutters, if you
have evidence to show they are also care givers I would very much like
to see it.

What does this have to do with anything?? Should we all post American
people committing crimes now? I don't think we have enough room for that.

Get a life. You are just a white supremacist Muslim hater and you will pay
for that some day.

Enjoy,
Curt

Back in my peace and mutual understanding phase of
a few weeks ago, I would not have made this comment,
but I will now because I think it throws some light on
the workings of the Islamic mind.

Islam explicitly forbids any Muslim man from having sex
with a woman other than his wife. However, it make no
mention of sex with boys. Get it ?

In Islam, the letter of the law get more attention than the spirit
of the law. To us, it appears to be hypocrisy. You decide.

And my sincere apologies to those very few Muslims who have
tried to increase my understanding of Islam in this NG. Unfortunately,
this IS my understanding.

But I may be wrong; I'm still willing to listen to reason.

He also travelled to Scotland and India beside travelling to Pakistan.
Why did you not refer to him as a Scott or an Indian?

His name clearly suggests he is not a Pakistani, nor Pakistani born.
Your hate filled twisting of things is hardly surprising.

Because it's a lot more fun to watch the pakistanis get stirred up.

You're very predictable.

ONLY as throat cutters? I would VERY much like to see the evidence on that.

Yes, there's an article in the American Psychiatric Association
Journal, vol. 288, Jan 1999, pp 1533 entitled "Are Muslim Psychiatrists
More Inclined to Sexually Abuse Their Patients?"

They did a study of Muslim vs. non Muslim psychiatrists, and the
results were that while 60 percent of non Muslim psychiatrists abused a
patient sexually at some time in their careers, Muslim psychiatrists -
98 percent - had done the same.

I'm really surprised. Would you guys say this to people to their faces? I
think it's retarted that people seem to be using "Sept. 11th" to bash
Muslims. I've experienced acts of terrorism by Muslim fundamentalists, and
yet I still am mature enough (in this aspect not in everything) to recognize
that not every single Muslim is messed up. I apologize to all good Muslims
reading these comments.

Gee, I just went to the American Psychiatric Association's website and
searched their journals. I found no match for the document that you cite
