Nordic women are beautiful on average but they have tiny breasts, why is this?

Because they live among the icebergs near the north pole and have to keep as
little of the body exposed.......:-)
Actually....what kind of question is this? I didn't think people had these
kind of thoughts any more. There are of course Swedish women with small
breasts and large (natural) breasts like women have anywhere in the world.
The same goes with beauty (which by the way is a very personal opinion).

Why do non-nordic women, who on average are beautiful ( if you like a moustache),
have sagging breasts then eh?

I dunno if this subject has really been studied scientificly, but
according to my, should I say "hands-on", experience, I agree: Generally
Finnish (or Nordic) have smaller breasts than their American sisters. I
recall someone explaining this phenomena with Irish influence: According
to this source Irish women have exeptionally large breasts, and so Irish
heritage of many Americans would explain this phenomena.

I'v also heard other explanations: Americans are generally more fat, do
more abortions, and have silicon implants. Then again, I'm not even sure
if the original claim is true (let alone other suggestions...).

How scientific study have you made on the subject? The Americans prefer
large breasts so women with large breasts get more exposure on various
media. Also breast implants and other means to increase or emphasize the
breast size are therefore more popular.

It has to do with the bears, the reindeers, the wolves, the elks and various
other wild beasts preying on innocent Wild Tall Blond Nordic Females in the
country. As the above mentioned animals are running after the above
mentioned persons, the only one who could survive were the fittest ones,
with less breasts, so they could run faster.

And besides, wolves would preferably run after the ones who were (meat

The American male eh? I feel sorry for Nordic women, attracting such
attention. However, you are right. But, smaller breasts have larger nerve
endings and are therefore more sensual from the womans point of view. Us
Europeans don't go for the American tits and ass thing so much. Nowt wrong
with Nordic women or their perfectly formed breasts. The French say the
perfect breast fits nicely into a Champagne glass. Food for thought!

yet another helpless victim of the international syndication of
Baywatch.

Breast implants among the general populace is nowhere near as widespread
as movies and television would have you believe. Without getting into
too much detail about my methods, I am quite confident that American
women average a pretty healthy size naturally, with a bell curve
naturally creating some A or B cups, as well as D cups and up. I read
somewhere (seriously, not in some porno mag or something) that the
average bra sold in America is a 34C. I don't know if the sizing scale
is different in Europe (probably metric) but I assure you a 34C is
anything but "tiny".

Of course there are strippers and actresses that augment themselves to
reach ridiculous proportions, but that is not the norm.

IMO the perfect breasts fits nicely into my hand (but does not need to
be covered by my big hands). Glasses - I use them usually for drinking,
not for the French perversions. Thus for all of you American perverts:

Before that there was Anita Ekberg. At least the name sounds
Scandinavian. Is this a new kind of ethnic female sterotyping?

How are we going to establish a statistical baseline? Bra sales?
Plaster casts? The number of non mastectomy-related requests for
implants? This seems like a subject mainly of interest to male
adolescents, and their over-aged counterparts.

What's the next subject? Why Nordic men have tiny penises?

To clear things out: People who travel a lot (or the places where they
live attract many tourists) will tell you that breast size has nothing
to do with the country of origin. On the other hand there are those who
attach great significance to TV programs and particular films , as well
as others who have never been out of their block who could not possibly
compare breast sizes with no first hand experience.

I'm pretty sure the French don't say this. In France champagne
is served in a real champagne glass, not the American style
glass which resembles the coctail glasses used for drinks like
dry martinis.

A breast which fits nicely into a French champagne glass would
resemble a chili pepper instead of a melon...

Sorry to disappoint you, but this subject has been really studied (by
scientific research): Asian men have by far the smallest penises. The
middle-sized white American males have on averige smaller p:s than
Finnish males, for example.

You could check first e.g.

Omygod. I make a brief checkout of the group for the first time in like
half a year, and what's the fitst thing I see? A large thread devoted to
the physical features of Nordic women. Some things never change. And I
contribute...

This time someone demands why they have small breasts. Oddly enough,
Osmo seems to be the only one to question the veracity of this notion.

Nordic women may have smaller breasts than American women if 34C is
indeed the most common American bra size. I read somwhere that 75B (the
comparison can be done just by converting metrics to inches) is the
Swedish type size. However, Scandinavian women are not particularly
unbosomy when compared, for example, to Frenchwomen.

Also, if 34 C is the type size, I can see an explanation other than
implants to this American bustiness. 34 inches under the bust
corresponds to a bit over 86 centimeters, and to a Swedish bra size of
85, i suppose.

To have bra size 85 is considered rather, err, full-bodied in Sweden. Of
course you _can_ measure 85 centimetres under the bust just by having a
very broad and athletic back, but most gals with this size are rather on
the plump side, I daresay.

Breasts, especially big ones, consist largely of fat, remember? I very
much suspect that _among size 85_, the C-cup is the most frequent also
in Sweden.

So the reason Nordic women have smaller breasts than American women are
because they are, on average, _leaner_.

Satisfied?

1) My wife isn't what you would normally call Usenet literate.

2) Had I been not, chivalry, rather than fear, would have inclined me
not to touch the subject at all in a Usenet posting.

Breast implants in America have become extremely popular. In one
year, 1997, breast implant surgeries increased by about 40%. It
is not generally appreciated that this has actually changed the appearance
of certain population groups in the country, but it is possibly true. Some
formerly small breasted women are seeking
to become huge breasted. People are noticing for instance how many large
breasted Asian American women there are now, but Asians were formerly known
for being small breasted. Recent
surveys suggest that the average breast size in America has gone
from a B cup to a C cup. The standard explanation for this is that
women have simply gotten plumper, but this explantion fails to account for
the fact that the *increase* in average body fat is not
*dramatic* enough to explain such a marked expansion in overall
breast size (going from a B-cup to a C-cup amounts to a near *doubling* of
breast volume). A better explanation is that the country
is simply feeling the cumulative effects of breast augmention.

This is the problem with saying that Nordic women have smaller
breasts. Perhaps this is not a genetic or natural thing at all, but is
caused by the tendency to compare them with a group of women
that have been artificially altered to have bigger breasts. Perhaps
Nordic women are simply more natural.

Pam was well endowed naturally, but didn't become very famous until
*after* her giant implants were put in place. I think she was more
attractive before she started augmenting her body and shaving her
eyebrows off.

As a long time fan of Nordic women I PROTEST for the title of this
thread. It just ain't true. Maybe it should be changed to "Nordic
women's breast size" or something.

This is getting more and more off topic, but I think a
rant made by a Canadian in another newsgroup describes the situation
well.

The background is that a US lawyer wrote to the author of
this rant to warn him that he should obey the law, or
he would risk getting sued. US law that is.

Ųyvind Seland

Part of rant follows

Do you really imagine in your wildest dreams that this has anything
to do with a Canuck like me. Go to a world atlas.
Flip through the first 78 pages pages devoted to Yankiedoodleland.
On the 79th page you will find the one and only page devoted to an
obscure little county (well, actually it's larger than the US,
including Alaska, by about the size of Texas) of 30 million souls
a little to the North of you. Trace your finger up California.
Now, see you come to a place called "Oregon". Neat, huh? Yes,
Oregon. I know you've never heard of it and you're all curious and
excited, but keep going. Now you come to a place called Seattle.
I don't know; Suquamish? Keep going up. You see that line at the
"49th parallel"? No, never mind what a "parallel" is. Yes, I know
that's a big word, but do you see it? Well, everything to the north
of that line is a different country. Neat, huh? Yes, that's not the
USA. No, it is still is in North America. No, we don't really call
ourselves Americans, as that word has been tainted a bit and taken
over by some other country. We call ourselves Canucks. Yes, that
is the name of a hockey team. Now, Helena, this is going to come
as a bit of a shock to you. Just sit still for a minute. Yes, I
know you're all excited at the thrill of discovery. But Helena,
that place north of that line has *it's own laws*. Yes, it does!
And it's own constitution. It even has it's own bill of rights.
No, this bill of rights is a little different than the one you
heard they have down there in the USA. No, I don't know if we
ignore our bill of rights as much as you Yanks do. What does that
mean? It's a term we sometimes call people from the USA. No, it
doesn't mean we hate you. Now, Helena, don't cry! No, all the world
doesn't really hate "Americans", er, USians; we're just confused
about what to call you. I mean, people from France are called
French, people from Australia are called Australians, people
from Canada are called Canadians, but what do you call people
from the US? My sister says Staties; I'm not sure what to call
you. Why not use "Americans"? Well, the Americas are a large
geographical area, Helena. Calling you "Americans" would be like
calling people from Algeria "Africans"; it's a bit generic, don't
you think? Some people in other countries call Canadians "Americans",
not to insult us, but because we live in America. North America,
to be precise. So, Helena, now you've had this little lesson in
geography, do you see how silly and pointless it is to send the
decision from some, er, Statian judge up to a back-bacon eating,
beer-swilling Canuck like me, eh?

I used the "Finns are Russians" example in hopes that it would be
self-explanatory. After all, Finland was once part of the Russian
empire. But we all know that inclusion within such a broad geographical
entity provides neither useful nor accurate descriptions of the people
living there. Nationality is a complex mixture of geography, history,
religion, and language. More often than not, nationality is a state of
mind. So Finns are not Russians.

When my grandfather brought his family from Denmark to North America, he
did so with the clear purpose of them becoming Canadians, and _not_
becoming Americans. Previously, he had lived in both Canada and the
U.S.A. and, as an intelligent man, he understood that there were
important differences between the two countries and their citizens. He
understood that these were primarily differences between the national
states of mind. So Canadians are not "Americans."

The "who is American" question is an old and oft-fought argument, and it
is all the fault of the Europeans who named the American continents with
such remarkable lack of originality. Geographically (and loosely) all
residents of the Americas (North, South & Central, plus the Caribbean
islands), including Canadians and Patagonians, are Americans of one sort
or another. Most (nearly all, or so it seems) "Usonians" (those from the
U.S.A.) believe that they have a divine monopoly on the use of the term
"America" & "American" and often denigrate any non-U.S.A. use of those
terms by others - thus, Hawaiians become Americans by default while
Cubans are not.

Many (not all) Latin Americans take umbrage with the Usonian monopoly of
the terms "America" & "American" in common international usage.
Non-Usonian North Americans (Canadians & Mexicans) seldom use the term
in connection with themselves unless used as "North American," the
better to differentiate from the Yanks/Yanquis. If the Yanks were
commonly (and politely) referred to as something other than Americans,
it would likely be polite to call the rest of us Americans, but this is
not the case, is it?

Thus, to be called an "American" is considered by most Canadians to be a
mortal insult.

Greetings Ųyvind

Thanks for that. Ranting is considered to be a political art form in
Atlantic Canada. What are the names of the newsgroup, thread and poster?
I'd like to look it up and read the whole exchange.
