Last night Babayaro came on as a substitute for Chelsea in their 2-0
victory in Bratislava. He played well and I look forward to seeing more
of him for Chelsea.

One question puzzles me. His origins in Nigeria? Sounds like a Catholic
first name from a Northern family. Can anyone enlighten me?

Graham:

Celestine Babayaro is from Imo State (Igbo). The owner of the team that he
played for in Northern Nigeria required all the players to change their
last name to Babayaro. This is why he has Babayaro as his last name. His
real name is either Celestine Osuala or Celestine Onuoha. Babayaro is just
his football name.

I do agree that that he is a great player and that he will even get better
. What I like about him is that he is humble. He also has a junior brother
called Emmanuel Babayaro who also played for Nigeria in the Olympics.

Why did he want their names changed?
