The offensive state license-plate motto "BORN TO RULE" was for Sokoto state
and not Kano. It has since been replaced with some uninspiring inscription
after objections were raised by Nigerians from several walks of life.
But you raise a very valid point though. It was gutsy of the Sokoto
caliphatans to brazenly think of such an abominable motto. This is just an
indication of the thought processes of those who want the rest of us
Nigerians to pretend that ethnicity is not a factor in military leadership
of Nigerian politics. It was even the more contemptible for the Federal
Ministry of Transport to have approved this despicable motto. The same 'in
your face/damn you' politics all over the place.
