Gbenga,
What do you mean by the Afonjas? Who are they, apart from Tunde
Giwa? Please let us know.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO KNOW THE AFONJAS. I REPEAT, MY MESSAGE WAS DIRECTED
TO THE YORUBAS (AND THE AFONJAS AMONG THEM). THE AFONJAS HAVE ALREADY
IDENTIFY THEMSELVES. THEY MAY IDENTIFY THEMSELVES TO YOU, IF THEY CHOOSE TO.
TUNDE "AFONJA" GIWA MAY ALSO BE OF ASSISTANCE, SINCE HE DOES COMMUNICATE
WITH THE AFONJAS ON A REGULAR BASIS.

MEANWHILE, TAKE CARE.

Gbenga,
Since you posted your message to naijanet, I think you should do
us (the non-Afonja, non-Yoruba) subscribers the courtesy of explaining
what you mean. Otherwise, I suggest you limit group-specific issues to
ethnic nets, like most of us do.

Take care,
Sarki

SARKI,

NOPE, SINCE YOURBAS ARE ON THIS NET, I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO
SEND MY MESSAGE TO THEM ONLY. THE NEXT TIME YOU SEE A MESSAGE
THAT IS SPECIFICALLY DIRECTED TO ANY ETHNIC GROUP OTHER THAN
YOURS, JUST HIT YOUR DELETE BOTTON. IT IS AS SIMPLE AS THAT.

TAKE CARE.

Gbenga,
I tried to restrain myself from responding to your mail but
your statement that "they got it and they responded privately caught my
attention". Does n't that tell you that your message belong to
private mail in the first place? If those to whom the message is
sent do not have private addresses why are you sending it in here?
Try to send your message in non cap letters. It is rude to
type all in caps and please don't tell me it is your right.
This will be my last response on this issue no matter your
response.

Cheers.

Godwin

GODWIN,

YOU ARE DEAD WRONG. THIS IS INFORMATION SUPER HIGHWAY. ANYWAY,
YOU RESERVE THE RIGHT TO YOUR OWN OPINION. NOT ALL THE YORUBAS
ON THIS NET HAS ACCESS TO PRIVATE MAIL. IN ORDER TO GET MY
MESSAGE ACROSS TO THEM, I HAD TO USE NAIJANET.

THEY GOT IT, AND HAVE RESPONDED PRIVATELY. ARROGANCE? NOPE.

I do not see anything wrong with someone sending a mail meant for a group
to the general Net, moreso if s/he does not have the e-mail addresses of
those concerned. Many of us have done it once on Naijanet (we have seen
old students of different institutions seeking themselves and even people
seeking their personal friends).

On the other hand, I agree with you that we should exercise caution when
sending messages through e-mail. It is not that it is rude writing all
caps, but it is overstressing that can be interpreted in different ways by
different people. I will send a separate mail on this.
