Fellow Nigerians,

Many Nigerians have been waiting for more facts on what really killed General
Idiagbon. It is unfortunate that a lot of wrinkles are gathering on this
issue. I think Nigerians need to know the cause of death.

There are many questions and comments:
1. Was General Idiagbon poisoned in Abuja?

2. Why was there no plane to take him abroad for treatment? After all,
General Obasanjo is fraudulently flying all over the world in one of Nigeria's
Presidential jets.

3. When General Abubakar left for Saudi Arabia, Admiral Akhigbe should have
been in charge. Why was the security adviser to General Abubakar asked for a
plane and not Akhigbe?

4. Did Akhigbe know that there was a request for a plane to take General
Idiagbon abroad?

5. As mentioned in a news report, medical doctors in Nigeria are surprised
that Idiagbon was operated on. The doctors are wondering why the operation
was necessary if indeed Idiagbon had Cholera. The doctors should know.

The Federal Government needs to explain General Idiagbon's death to Nigeria.
There seems to be too many deaths occuring in Abuja these days. The latest
seems to be Idiagbon. What is going on? The Federal Government owes Nigeria
a lot of answers.

Are ordinary Nigerians entitled to free flights abroad for major or
catastrophic illnesses?

If as I suspect, the answer to the above question is NO, why on earth should
the Nigerian tax payer be paying for foreign medical treatment for a retired
General from the Nigerian Armed Forces, no matter his stature while in
government.

Despit, General Idiagbon's meritorious performance while in givernment, we
need to constantly remind ourselves that no single Nigerian voted for him or
Buhari. This duo came to power by way of a military coup.

General Obasanjo, on the other hand r was recently elected by a landslide
margin as the next President of Nigeria. Obasanjo needs the Presidential plane
so that he could travel abroad to restore all the broken fences left behind by
years of Abacha's corrupt and dictatorial rule!

Bye,

Quincy

Gani/Netters,
At last, it is clear that I am not alone in this case. I have been
wondering, albeit secretly, about Adiagbon's mysterious death. That an
apparently healthy, robust man can die within six hours of having a severe
bout of cholera attack is very possible, medically speaking. But it must be
very serious indeed, and not treated.
We were told that the doctors wanted to perform an operation on the man
'because he had cholera'. This looks VERY suspicious, because, there is
ABSOLUTELY NO indication for an operation when someone has cholera. The
time-honored treatment for this seemingly innocent but dangerous illness is
SALT WATER, whether given as a drip, or by mouth. Other less important
treatments can be added. Cholera is a self-limiting illness, and usually
affects children, not someone as old as Idiagbon. Once salt water is given
in adequate amount, the illness sort of 'cures' itself without any
medication.
Idiagbon developed this mysterious illness shortly after visiting Abuja. His
main complaint was that he had abdominal pain. There was no complaint of
vomiting or diarrhoea, the two hallmarks of cholera. And before we could say
"Jack Robinson!", our well trained [government] surgeons wanted to perform
surgery on the sick man. Assuming that they had a reason to perform surgery
FOR CHOLERA, because it was urgent, why did they have to WAIT FOR GOVERNMENT
PERMISSION before doing so?
It did not end there. We later read that Idiagbon developed some
respiratory symptoms shortly before he died. This makes cholera VERY
UNLIKELY as the cause of the man's health problems.
Then, as if all these are not enough, his files got missing barely days
after he died.
Netters, I strongly believe that Idiagbon was poisoned, and I feel the
powers that be should do something about it[that is, if themselves are
innocent].
The motive? The man was a formidable threat to the ruling clique! Before you
dismiss this assertion, let me explain. This is an era of "recycled
Generals". Beginning with Obasanjo, the retired Generals are preparing to
take turns in [ruining] the country. As some of us are aware, Idiagbon was
probably the most popular among the retired Generals. Should he decide to
run, it's very likely that he would beat Obasanjo, Babangida, and all other
former soldiers hands down. We noticed that the people trusted him, more
than they did someone like Obasanjo. Moreover, his involvement in politics
means the ruling clique will be placed in check.
So the guy was eliminated before he became a more serious threat.
May Tunde Idiagbon rest in peace; may those who killed him be exposed and
repayed for their deeds.

Why is Idiagbon's death so unusual, thousands of Nigerians in their 50s
die daily as a result of the deplorable state of health care at home, indeed in
some parts death at 30 and 40 is quite common, its ironic that the present
situation was caused by certain elements in uniform, the chicken has come home
to roost
Is there any reason to suggest that he was poisoned, why raise the
spectre of confusion and suspicion when there is no reason for it,why will
anybody in their right mind want to poison Idiagbon at this time,if the
question of wizards or witches killing him was raised, in our country that is
not too far fetched and may be understandable, the days of Abacha's style
poisoning God willing is over.
Why should a private plane take Idiagbon overseas, why should Nigerians
pay for his trip, what did he do to deserve this special consideration,is it
because he forcibly took over from a democratically elected government, is it
because Nigerians asked him to liberate them,No we must not condone corruption
for any reason,to fly him out on tax payers money is wrong. What is fraudulent
about a democratically elected president-elect flying all over
the world laying the groung work for Nigeria's return to the folds of
economically strong and respected member of the community of nations.
Is there protocol to ask for something inherently wrong, any official of
the federal government from the head of state down should have rejected this
advance. What does it matter if Admiral Akhigbe is aware of the situation or
not,the answer should still be no.
What medical doctors in Nigeria are we talking about, are we talking
about those veterinarians from India parading as physicians,or the Lebanese
medics killing patients in Nigeria, the fact is most competent practitioners
have long left Nigeria, what is left is crew that can barely feed their
family, who do not have continued medical education and has forgotten what its
like to practice medicine, how can they know what is appopriate medical
decision or not.Do we ask why real docs that could have saved Idiagbon left the
country, those military types like Idiagbon should answer this
question, sometimes you reap what you sow.
A taxi driver called Mohamed died in Abuja recently,he was 45, word
is, he had typhoid and there was no medicine to save his life, should the
federal government explain his death to all Nigerians, afterall they are
responsible since they did not provide clean water, vaccine and proper sewer
service. Is Idiagbon death more symbolic than Mohamed's who did not do anything
to disrupt the peace of a nation.
Ganiyu Jaiyeola's questions are intresting maybe puzzling, but frankly
demonstrates misplacement of our priorities. As Nigerians we cannot allow
symbolism especially corrupt idealogy to dictate our very existence.
