Firefighter Mag Raps 9/11 Probe

"A respected firefighting trade magazine with ties to the city Fire
Department is calling for a "full-throttle, fully resourced"
investigation into the collapse of the World Trade Center. A signed
editorial in the January issue of Fire Engineering magazine says the
current investigation is "a half-baked farce." The piece by Bill
Manning, editor of the 125-year-old monthly that frequently publishes
technical studies of major fires, also says the steel from the site
should be preserved so investigators can examine what caused the
collapse. "Did they throw away the locked doors from the Triangle
Shirtwaist fire? Did they throw away the gas can used at the Happy
Land social club fire? ... That's what they're doing at the World
Trade Center," the editorial says. "The destruction and removal of
evidence must stop immediately." Fire Engineering counted FDNY Deputy
Chief Raymond Downey, the department's chief structural expert, among
its senior advisers. Downey was killed in the Sept. 11 attack. John
Jay College's fire engineering expert, Prof. Glenn Corbett, serves as
the magazine's technical editor.

A group of engineers from the American Society of Civil Engineers,
with backing from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, has been
studying some aspects of the collapse. But Manning and others say
that probe has not looked at all aspects of the disaster and has had
limited access to documents and other evidence. A growing number of
fire protection engineers have theorized that "the structural damage
from the planes and the explosive ignition of jet fuel in themselves
were not enough to bring down the towers," the editorial stated. A
FEMA spokesman, John Czwartacki, said agency officials had not yet
seen the editorial and declined to comment. Norida Torriente, a
spokeswoman for the American Society of Civil Engineers, described
her group's study as a "beginning" and "not a definitive work." Sen.
Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) has joined a group of relatives of
firefighters who died in the attack in calling for a blue-ribbon
panel to study the collapse. "We have to learn from incidents through
investigation to determine what types of codes should be in place and
what are the best practices for high-rise construction," Manning told
the Daily News. "The World Trade Center is not the only lightweight,
core construction high-rise in the U.S. It's a typical method of
construction."

City Had Been Warned of Fuel Tank at 7 World Trade Center
-December 20, 2001

"Fire Department officials warned the city and the Port Authority of
New York and New Jersey in 1998 and 1999 that a giant diesel fuel
tank for the mayor's $13 million command bunker in 7 World Trade
Center, a 47-story high-rise that burned and collapsed on Sept. 11,
posed a hazard and was not consistent with city fire codes. The 6,000-
gallon tank was positioned about 15 feet above the ground floor and
near several lobby elevators and was meant to fuel generators that
would supply electricity to the 23rd-floor bunker in the event of a
power failure. Although the city made some design changes to address
the concerns - moving a fuel pipe that would have run from the tank
up an elevator shaft, for example - it left the tank in place. But
the Fire Department repeatedly warned that a tank in that position
could spread fumes throughout the building if it leaked, or, if it
caught fire, could produce what one Fire Department memorandum
called "disaster."

Experts Urging Broader Inquiry in Towers' Fall "In calling for a new
investigation, some structural engineers have said that one serious
mistake has already been made in the chaotic aftermath of the
collapses: the decision to rapidly recycle the steel columns, beams
and trusses that held up the buildings. That may have cost
investigators some of their most direct physical evidence with which
to try to piece together an answer. Officials in the mayor's office
declined to reply to written and oral requests for comment over a
three- day period about who decided to recycle the steel and the
concern that the decision might be handicapping the
investigation...Interviews with a handful of members of the team,
which includes some of the nation's most respected engineers, also
uncovered complaints that they had at various times been shackled
with bureaucratic restrictions that prevented them from interviewing
witnesses, examining the disaster site and requesting crucial
information like recorded distress calls to the police and fire
departments..."This is almost the dream team of engineers in the
country working on this, and our hands are tied," said one team
member who asked not to be identified. Members have been threatened
with dismissal for speaking to the press. "FEMA is controlling
everything," the team member said...Dr. Frederick W. Mowrer, an
associate professor in the fire protection engineering department at
the University of Maryland, said he believed the decision could
ultimately compromise any investigation of the collapses. "I find the
speed with which potentially important evidence has been removed and
recycled to be appalling," Dr. Mowrer said.

Missing Pieces To The
Amazing 911 Mystery Puzzle

There are so many amazing possibilities to the true story of what really
happened and who is the real mastermind behind 911, that some sort of
independent peoples' committee (like that which revealed the TWA 800
coverup - ed) should be set up to investigate all the facts and questions
that have never been answered since the horrific attacks on 911. This
peoples' committee could be made up of intelligent independent citizens who
have no connection to anyone in the U.S.government. Here is a list of some
of the questions that might be answered with such an inquiry.

1. Let's start with an easy one. It was reported that an unusually large
amount of thousands of put stock options were purchased on United and
American airlines just before 911. You make money on put options when the
price of a stock goes down. There were also reports of unusual stock
transactions in Europe related to 911. The CIA supposedly monitors these
kinds of unusual stock transactions so that people who have insider
information can possibly be identified and apprehended as potential
participants in a case like 911. To date, the identity of the person or
persons, who were involved in these option and stock transactions, have not
been made public. It was also reported that a $2,500,000 profit from one of
the option trades has not been claimed by the person who made that trade.
The FBI can easily identify the person or persons involved in these stock
trades because in order to make a stock trade, you have to open an account
with a stockbroker and deposit money in your account before you trade.

It would seem easy enough for the FBI and CIA to go to the stockbrokers
where these trades were made and find out who made them. This is probably
the closest link that can be established to someone who was involved in 911
but neither the FBI nor CIA is, apparently, pursuing this. Why?

2. It was reported that none of the names of the so-called Arab terrorists
were on any of the passenger lists of any of the four planes involved in
911. Plus, the FBI and CIA with all their multi-billion dollar budgets
claimed that they had no prior information that a "terrorist" act of this
magnitude was about to happen. Yet within 48 hours, the FBI and CIA somehow
managed to produce the pictures and names of 19 Arabs who were supposedly
the "terrorists" on the planes, even though none of their names were on ANY
of the passenger lists. How did they know? Just because you had an Arab
name, they were able to determine that you were a "terrorist" on the planes?
Plus, you may recall, when the names of the "terrorists" were first released
to the press, there were reports in the media that some of the passports
which the "terrorists" were using may have been stolen and the real names of
the "terrorists" may have been different than the names released to the
media.

3. It was reported that a number of passengers were able to make cell phone
calls from the planes that were supposedly hijacked. You'll see why I used
the term "supposedly hijacked" in number 4. It was also reported by some
sources that these reported cell calls never showed up on the cell phone
company billings. Why are hijackers letting anyone on the planes make cell
phone calls to people on the ground? Can you remember any other hijacked
airplane incident where people were making cell phone calls? Can you easily
make cell phone calls from a plane that is 35,000 feet high and hundreds of
miles away from your cell phone provider?


It was reported that the black boxes from the planes, which record
conversations between the pilot and ground control, were all either
destroyed or the conversations on recovered blackboxes could not be released
for some rediculous reason. Number one, black boxes are built to survive the
worst fiery plane crashes. By not releasing the black box communications and
data, we cannot know what is really happening in the cockpit or on the
aircraft and who is flying those planes. Additionally, there had to be some
communication between the pilots and someone in the control towers. Yet no
air traffic controller was interviewed to talk about their conversations
with the pilots during the course of the "hijackings."

So, the only communication we are told about is some supposed cell phone
conversations of a few passengers and a flight attendant on the planes. The
only cockpit sounds that are released to the public are a few seconds of
what we are told is a scuffle between passengers and hijackers in the
cockpit of flight 93 that crashed in Pennsylvania. It is extremely important
that any blackbox communication between the pilots and ground control be
heard, if it still exists. This is probably the most important available
part of the mystery in the puzzle. (To date, FBI Director Mueller refuses to
release black box recordings saying they might impede the investigation and
that they are too horrible for people to hear, especially familiy
members. -ed)

4. It was reported there is a new technology that currently exists called
onboard the UAV 'Global Hawk' platform. This technology was referred to by
President Bush immediately following the 911 tragedy. Bush said that in the
future, we must strengthen the cockpit doors and further the development of
a new technology whereby a pilot on the ground can take over the controls of
a hijacked aircraft and fly the plane, and land the plane, at a designated
airport. Bush was referring to this technology being developed sometime in
the future when he knew that this technology has been under development for
many years and exists now!

In April 2001, a pilotless plane flew from the US to Australia and back to
the U.S. Boeing has under development a pilotless fighter plane, whose final
test was set for December 2001. With these new planes, you won't have to
have live fighter pilots risking their lives in war. Plus it will save huge
amounts of money training fighter pilots, which currently costs two to three
million dollars each pilot. So what does all this mean?

It means that the "Global Hawk" pilotless plane technology that Bush talked
about already exists and could have been used in the 911 events. Guess how
many planes one trained pilot can fly sitting in front of his computer
screens? Four. How many planes were involved in 911? Four. And according to
a conference of professional commercial airline pilots, the supposed Arab
"hijackers" could not have flown those planes at all, or as well as they
were flown, if they only attended the flight schools that were reported in
the news.

So, let's look at how all the above could might into play. None of the
supposed Arab "terrorist" names were on any of the passenger flight lists
and the U.S. government, within 48 hours, shows us pictures of 19 Arab
"terrorists" - even though the FBI and CIA said they had no prior
information that the 911 event could happen. You really don't need any live
pilots in the cockpit to fly any of the four planes. They could all be flown
by one very well-trained pilot using Global Hawk technology from somewhere
on the ground.

Therefore, the 19 Arab "hijackers" didn't even need to board the planes. You
didn't even need "hijackers." All you need is 'Global Hawk' technology to
take over control of the aircraft from the ground. By the US government
refusing to release any of the pilot-to-ground control communication from
the (allegedly destroyed) blackboxes in the aircraft, the US government
blacks out any conversation from the "hijacked" airline pilots possibly
telling the control tower that the flight controls of their planes had been
taken over.

You might ask, what happened to the fourth plane, Flight 93? According to
one theory, Global Hawk technology malfunctioned on Flight 93. Somehow the
pilots onboard were able to regain control of their aircraft. If Flight 93
lands safely on the ground, the secret of what was really happening on all
four planes would be revealed. A back-up plan had to be implemented.

Flight 93 was then supposedly shot down by a US military jets. There are
verifiable facts to substantiate this possibility. There were a number of
eye witnesses who claimed to have seen flight 93 explode before it fell to
the ground. These eye witnesses also saw a military jet in the sky near the
crash site. Plus, there were reports of a small white private plane circling
the crash site immediately after the crash - even though all private
aircraft were supposed to be grounded at the time. Aircraft debris from
flight 93 was strewn over an area six to eight miles from the crash site,
which would be impossible,if as the government said that some passengers
fought with the hijackers and intentionally crashed the plane to prevent the
plane from hitting another terrorist target.Explaining how metal parts and
other debris flew through the air and landed six to eight miles from the
crash site, without there being an explosion in the air before the plane
crashed to the ground, would be very hard for the government to do..Plus if
the passengers did overtake the hijackers,why would they want to crash the
plane? Couldn't the real flight 93 pilots fly the plane and land it safely?

Now comes the hero story from the government. This story is used to supply
all the answers to all the questions about what happened on Flight 93 and to
avoid any further inquiry by a gullible American public that accepts most
anything their government officials say is truth. As George Bush, Sr. was
quoted as saying: "Don't confuse people with the truth."

5. No US military planes were sent up to intercept any of the hijacked
planes even though there were at least 30 minutes to one hour from the time
it was known that the planes were hijacked. Much has been written about this
by the alternatve free press on the internet. It is standard procedure for
military planes to be sent up if a plane is off course and the plane is not
or cannot communicate with ground control. This is just normal safety
protocol because if a plane starts flying in a different flight pattern, it
could crash into another plane in the sky. The big question is who gave the
order to not "scramble" US military jets under these emergency and
highly-dangerous conditions? If you think Bin Laden could have done this
sitting in some cave in Afghanistan - think again. The only people who could
have pulled this one off are high-ranking government officials who were part
of the plan of the real "Mastermind" behind the attacks.

6} So why wage a war in Afghanistan as a result of 911, costing billions of
dollars? Oil, oil, oil. Unocal, a huge American oil conglomerate, along with
other connected individuals, wanted to take control of six trillion dollars
of oil (that's trillion, not billion) in the Caspian Sea...right near
Afghanistan. Need you be reminded that the Bush's and Vice President Cheny
just happen to be wealthy oil men and Cheney's Haliburton Corporation will
probably be building the multi-billion dollar oil pipeline across
Afghanistan that will be needed to bring much of that oil to market. It is
important to be aware that the new leader of Afghanistan used to work for
Unocal. Isn't that convenient?

Another important major benefactor of the war on terrorists is the war
industrialists. George Bush, Jr's father happens to be the main player in
the fifth largest war corporation in the World: the Carlyle Corporation.
Isn't this kind of father/son relationship called nepotism? Meaning, in
government language,your father or relatives benefit financially from your
governmental decisions. Just a side note: up until October 2001, the Bin
Laden family were major investors in the Carlyle Corpration but were forced
to sell out because of the controversy their relationship generated. The Bin
Ladens and the Bush's have been doing business together for many years. How
interesting.

The American people along with the Europeans have been told that the war on
terrorism is going to be a long war. What a shame George Jr's father's
corporation doesn't make peace products. Then his father would have an
incentive to make money from having Peace in the World instead of war.

Another important reason for the war in Afghanistan was to get control of
the opium poppies used to make most of the heroin in the World. You would
think that President Bush with the 'war on drugs' would work to stop the
manufacture of heroin in Afghanistan now that the U.S. has taken over
control of the country. But insteadm it has been reported that the new
ruling Nothern Alliance is expanding substantially the gowing of opium
poppies and the manufacture of heroin in Afghanistan. Could it be that the
Bushes,Cheney and the CIA really are involved, as long-rumoured, in
heavy-duty drug trafficking all over the World?

7. Probably one of the biggest giveaways that Bin Laden is not the main
"Mastermind" behind 911 is the fact that since 911, there have been NO
additional "terrorist" acts perpetrated against, or in, the US or Europe.
Not one bullet has been fired, not one bomb exploded by a Bin Laden
"terrorist" in the US or Europe.

Here you have the supposed "master terrorist", Bin Laden, who supposedly
committed the biggest terrorist act ever on U.S. soil and yet he has not
been able to commit even a small terrorist act against his "enemy" the US
since 911. Afghanistan is being bombed to smithereens and thousands of
innocent defenseless Afghani men ,women and children have been killed by
American forces -- shame, shame, shame. Bin Laden's Al Queda forces are
being killed and destroyed and the "enemy terrorist" is not fighting back??
We are told by the U.S. government that Bin Laden has thousands of "sleeper
operatives" just waiting in the wings to commit terrorist acts in the U.S.
and Europe. We are shown videotapes of bin Laden that US officials say could
contain hidden code words from Bin Laden that will send these "sleeper
terrorists" on a killing spree in the US and Europe. But absolutely nothing
is happening from the Bin Laden "terrorists" that are supposedly in the U.S.
and Europe.

Not only this. The so-called "mastermind terrorist", Bin Laden, that
President Bush sent a huge military force to capture or kill, has amazingly
disappeared. It has cost the American taxpayers billions of dollars and now
Pentagon officials have said they may never be able to find Bin Laden. What
gives? If you really wanted to get Bin Laden, wouldn't it have been easier
and cheaper to have offered a one billion dollar reward for him and his
cronies and not send any military force to Afghanistan which has killed
thousands of innocent Afghani civilians, along with Taliban and American
military personnel? (It is reported the US had plans to invade Afghanistan
and oust the Taliban months before 911...remember the oil in the Caspian and
the big pipeline project?)

Hello Americans, wake-up and stop the flag-waving already. Get yourselves a
new President, Vice President, Attorney General, Secretary of State and
Defense, and new leaders of the FBI and CIA. Get some people who can do a
better job PROTECTING you and NOT REMOVING your civil rights and freedom.
Get someone who can find Bin Laden and someone who can find the anthrax
killers. Get a President who will find better ways to keep you out of wars
and who works to make peace in the World - and who does not have a father
who is making money from a war corporation that makes money from the wars
that his son precipitates. Get a President and government officials who are
honest and wouldn't start a war in Afghanistan and kill thousands of
innocent Afghani civilians in order to pipe out some of the six trillion
dollars of oil in the Caspian Sea, and who would gain control of the
heroin/opium producing drug market in Afghanistan. Americans, please wake up
now before it really is too late.

Since so much is being written on the internet about what could be the true
story of the 911 tragedy and it's aftermath, it would be really great if
someone organized and put together and publicized the 911 People's
Investigating Committee described at the beginning of this article, with all
the financing and lawyers it would take in order to do a proper and fair
investigation, so that the truth can come to light and justice can be done.
Maybe a case can be made and tried in a court of law and the real 911
"Mastermind" and all his accomplices can be brought to justice.

Operation 911- No Suicide Pilots

There were no "suicide" pilots on those September 11 jets. The jets were
controlled by advanced robotics and remote-control technology, not
hijackers. Fantastic? Before I explain, read about the history-making
robot/remote-controlled jet plane.


GLOBAL HAWK: NOW YOU HAVE IT...

The Northrop Grumman Global Hawk is a robotized American military jet that
has a wingspan of a Boeing 737. The excerpts below were taken from an
article entitled: "Robot plane flies Pacific unmanned," which appeared in
the April 24, 2001 edition of Britain's International Television News:

"The aircraft essentially flies itself, right from takeoff, right through to
landing, and even taxiing off the runway," according to the Australian
Global Hawk manager Rod Smith.

A robot plane has made aviation history by becoming the first unmanned
aircraft to fly across the Pacific Ocean.

The American high-altitude Global Hawk spy plane made flew (sic) across the
ocean to Australia, defence officials confirmed.

The Global Hawk, a jet-powered aircraft with a wingspan equivalent to a
Boeing 737 [NOTE: two of the aircraft involved in the 911 crashes were
Boeing 757s, two were Boeing 767s] flew from Edwards Air Force Base in
California and landed late on Monday at the Royal Australian Air Force base
at Edinburgh, in South Australia state. . . .

It flies along a pre-programmed flight path, but a pilot monitors the
aircraft during its flight via a sensor suite which provides infra-red and

... AND NOW YOU DON'T -

Then, on September 20, 2001, The Economist published comments from a former
boss of British Airways, Robert Ayling:

On autopilot into the future "Robert Ayling, a former boss of British
Airways, suggested in The Financial Times this week that aircraft could be
commandeered from the ground and controlled remotely in the event of a
hijack ... (as quoted by KC <kette...@home.com> on alt.current-events.wtc
explosion).

So, even though the ITN article was published on April 24, in September,
after the 911 crashes, Mr. Ayling is PRETENDING Global Hawk technology is a
thing of the future.


THEN THE NEW YORK TIMES RAN THIS:

. . . In addition, the president [President Bush] said he would give grants
to airlines to allow them to develop stronger cockpit doors and transponders
that cannot be switched off from the cockpit. Government grants would also
be available to pay for video monitors that would be placed in the cockpit
to alert pilots to trouble in the cabin; and new technology, probably far in
the future, allowing air traffic controllers to land distressed planes by
remote control. ("Bush to Increase Federal Role in Security at Airports,"
The New York Times, Sept. 28, 2001; emphasis added.)

So, then, right after Operation 911 was pulled off, two men of world
influence were pretending such technology had not yet been perfected. That
was dishonest. And revealing.

Run a Google Advanced Search on the phrase "Global Hawk," and you will find
additional information. Meanwhile, I have attached the text of the ITN
article at the end of this piece.

Technically speaking, we could have a "suicidal" airplane fly into a
building without a suicidal pilot. Robotics and remote control technology
has developed to the point that a high-altitude Global Hawk (or a
low-altitude Tomahawk cruise missile) can be guided into collision with a
target without a Kamikaze pilot in the cockpit.

America And Its Allies Would Never Attack America! Now, hold it there! This
is US military technology. We all surely know that the US and its allies
would not conspire to attack America! Or do we?

The Army's School of Advanced Military Studies (SAMS ) thinks Israel is
capable of doing exactly that. On September 10, 2001, The Washington Times
ran a front page story which quoted SAMS officers:


"Of the Mossad, the Israeli intelligence service, the SAMS officers say:
'Wildcard. Ruthless and cunning. Has capability to target US forces and make
it look like a Palestinian/Arab act.'" ("US troops would enforce peace under
Army study," The Washington Times, Sept.. 10, 2001, pg. A1, 9.) Just 24
hours after this story appeared, the Pentagon was hit and the Arabs were
being blamed.

These SAMS officers are obviously interested in protecting their country,
but not all Americans are. Some are traitors and pay allegiance to Israel.
Recall the June 8, 1967, Israeli attack on the USS Liberty, and American
complicity in the attack.

During the Six Day War, the Liberty, an American intelligence gathering
ship, was sailing in international waters. Israeli aircraft and torpedo

When four US fighter jets from a nearby aircraft carrier came to protect the
Liberty, US Defense Secretary Robert McNamara ordered the jets NOT to come
to the Liberty's aid, and allowed the Israeli attack to continue.

Now consider Operation Northwoods: In 1962, US military leaders designed a
plan to conduct terrorist acts against Americans and blame Cuba, to create
popular sentiment for invasion of that country. Operation Northwoods
included: * Plans to shoot down a CIA plane designed to replicate a
passenger flight and announce that Cuban forces shot it down.

* Creation of military casualties by blowing up a US ship in Guantanamo Bay
and blaming Cuba: "....casualty lists in the US newspapers would cause a
helpful wave of national indignation," and

* Development of a terror campaign in the Miami and Washington, DC.

In other words, US allies and people within the US military establishment
are not opposed to killing American servicemen and civilians, given the
right goal.


WHY TAKE CHANCES?

Put yourself in the shoes of the masterminds of Operation 911. The attacks
had to be tightly coordinated. Four jets took off within 15 minutes of each
other at Boston, Dulles, and Newark airports, and roughly two hours later,
it was over. The masterminds couldn't afford to take needless chances.

Years ago I saw a local TV news reporter interview a New York mugger about
the occupational hazards of his trade. "It's a very, very dangerous trade,"
the mugger informed the interviewer. "Some of these people are crazy! They
fight back! You can get hurt!"

If a freelance New York mugger realized the unpredictable nature of human
behavior, surely the pros who pulled this job off must have known the same
truth. Yet we are asked to believe that the culprits took four jet
airliners, with four sets of crew and four sets of passengers -- armed with
(depending on the news reports you read) "knives," "plastic knives" and box
cutters. Given the crazy and unpredictable nature of humans, why would they
try this bold plan when they were so poorly armed?

A lady's handbag -- given the weight of the contents most women insist on
packing -- is an awesome weapon. I know, I have used mine in self defense.
Are we to believe that none of the women had the testosterone to knock those
flimsy little weapons out of the hijackers' hands? And what of the
briefcases most men carry? Thrown, those briefcase can be potent weapons.
Your ordinary every-day New York mugger would never take the chances that
our culprits took.

Flight attendant Michelle Heidenberger was on board Flight 77. She had been
"trained to handle a hijacking. She knew not to let anyone in the cockpit.
She knew to tell the hijacker that she didn't have a key and would have to
call the pilots. None of her training mattered." ( "On flight 77: 'Our Plane
Is Being Hijacked'," The Washington Post, September 12, 2001, pgs. A 1, 11.)

That's right, The Washington Post for once is telling the whole truth.
Heidenberger's training didn't matter, the pilots' training didn't matter,
the ladies handbags didn't matter, the mens' briefcases didn't matter. The
masterminds of Operation 911 knew that whatever happened aboard those
flights, the control of the planes was in their hands. Even if the crew and
passengers fought back, my hypothesis is that they *could not* have regained
control of the planes, for the planes were being controlled by Global Hawk
technology.


FLIGHT 77 - "The Plane Was Flown With Extraordinary Skill"

Once again: Operation 911 demanded that the attacks be tightly coordinated.
Four jets took off within 15 minutes of each other at Boston, Dulles, and
Newark airports, and roughly two hours later, it was over. If we are to
believe the story we are being told, the masterminds needed, at an absolute
minimum, pilots who could actually fly the planes and who could arrive at
the right place at the right time.

American Airlines Flight 77, a Boeing 757, took off from Dulles Airport in
northern Virginia at 8:10 a.m. and crashed into the Pentagon at 9:40 a.m.
The Washington Post, September 12, says this: "Aviation sources said that
the plane was flown with extraordinary skill, making it highly likely that a
trained pilot was at the helm, possibly one of the hijackers. Someone even
knew how to turn off the transponder, a move that is considerably less than
obvious."

According to the article, the air traffic controllers "had time to warn the
White House that the jet was aimed directly at the president's mansion and
was traveling at a gut-wrenching speed--full throttle.

"But just as the plane seemed to be on a suicide mission into the White
House, the unidentified pilot executed a pivot so tight that it reminded
observers of a fighter jet maneuver. The plane circled 270 degrees from the
right to approach the Pentagon from the west, whereupon Flight 77 fell below
radar level, vanishing from controller's screens, the sources said." ("On
Flight 77: 'Our Plane Is Being Hijacked'," The Washington Post, September
12, 2001, pgs. 1 & 11)


MEET ACE SUICIDE PILOT HANI HANJOUR

Let's look at what we know about the alleged suicide pilot of American
Airlines Flight 77, Hani Hanjour. According to press reports, Hanjour had
used Bowie's Maryland Freeway Airport three times since mid-August as he
attempted to get permission to use one of the airport's planes. This from
The Prince George's Journal [Maryland] September 18, 2001:

Marcel Bernard, the chief flight instructor at the airport, said the man
named Hani Hanjour went into the air in a Cessna 172 with instructors from
the airport three times beginning the second week of August and had hoped to
rent a plane from the airport.

According to published reports, law enforcement sources say Hanjour, in his
mid-twenties, is suspected of crashing the American Airlines Flight 77 into
the Pentagon. . . .

Hanjour had his pilot's license, said Bernard, but needed what is called a
'check-out' done by the airport to gauge a pilot's skills before he or she
is able to rent a plane at Freeway Airport which runs parallel to Route 50.

Instructors at the school told Bernard that after three times in the air,
they still felt he was unable to fly solo and that Hanjour seemed
disappointed ...

... Published reports said Hanjour obtained his pilot's license in April of
1999, but it expired six months later because he did not complete a required
medical exam. He also was trained for a few months at a private school in
Scottsdale, Ariz., in 1996, but did not finish the course because
instructors felt he was not capable.

Hanjour had 600 hours listed in his log book, Bernard said, and instructors
were surprised he was not able to fly better with the amount of experience
.S Pete Goulatta, a special agent and spokesman for the FBI, said it is an
on-going criminal investigation and he could not comment. (pg. 1.)

If you were the mastermind who planned this breathtaking terrorist attack,
would you trust a man who took 600 hours of flying time and still could not
do the job? Who was paying for Hanjour's lessons, and why?

Yet this is the man the FBI would have us believe flew Flight 77 into the
Pentagon "with extraordinary skill." BUY HE COULD NOT EVEN FLY A CESSNA 172
!!

Yes, maneuvering a Boeing 757 into a 270 degree turn under tense conditions
(remember, the culprits were outmanned and had crude, non lethal weapons)
demanded the skill of a fighter pilot. But why would those bad, bad, Muslims
want to do such a thing?

By shifting the plane's position so radically, Flight 77 managed to hit the
side of the Pentagon *directly opposite* the side on which the offices of
the Secretary of Defense and Joint Chief of Staff were located.
(Coincidentally, Flight 77 hit the offices of Army operations (US News and
World Report, Sept. 14, 2001, pg. 25. Recall, it was the Army that warned of
the possibility that Israel's Mossad might make a terror attack against the
US.) The masterminds of Operation 911 were prepared to sacrifice the rank
and file, but carefully avoided touching a hair on the head of the brass.

It reminds one of Operation Northwoods, doesn't it? Remember the rank and
file sailors who were to be sacrificed on a US Naval vessel in Guantanamo
Bay, in order to justify war with Cuba? No, neither Hanjour nor any other
Muslim suicide pilot was at the controls of this plane. It had been fitted
with Global Hawk technology and was being remotely controlled.


LET'S MEET THE OTHER ACES

According to The Washington Post of 10-19-01: "Hijack Suspects Tried Many
Flight Schools"

Mohammed Atta, alleged hijacker of Flight 11, and Marwanal-Al-Shehhi,
alleged hijacker of Flight 175, both of which crashed into the World Trade
Center, attended hundreds of hours of lessons at Huffman Aviation, a flight
school in Venice, Florida. They also took lessons at Jones Aviation Flying
Service Inc., which operates from the Sarasota Bradenton International
Airport. According to the Post, neither experience "worked out."

A flight instructor at Jones who asked not be identified said Atta and Al
Shehhi arrived in September or October and asked to be given flight
training. Atta, the instructor said, was particularly difficult. "He would
not look at your face," the instructor said. "When you talked to him, he
could not look you in the eye. His attention span was very short."

The instructor said neither man was able to pass a Stage I rating test to
track and intercept. After offering some harsh words, the instructor said,
the two moved on .... "We didn't kick them out, but they didn't live up to
our standards." (page A 15.)

Or try The Washington Post 1-24-01: "They were dumb and dumber."

Alleged hijackers Nawaq Alhazmi (Flight 77), Khaid Al-Midhar (Flight 77) and
Hani Hanjour (Flight 77) all spent time in San Diego. "Two of the men,
Alhazmi and Al-Midhar, also briefly attended a local fight school, but they
were dropped because of their limited English and incompetence at the
controls....

Last spring, two of the men visited Montgomery Field, a community airport
... and sought flying lessons. They spoke to instructors at Sorbi's Flying
Club, which allowed them to take only two lessons before advising them to
quit.

"Their English was horrible, and their mechanical skills were even worse,"
said an instructor, who asked not to be named. "It was like they had hardly
even ever driven a car ..."

"They seemed like nice guys," the instructor said, "but in the plane, they
were dumb and dumber." ("San Diegans See Area as Likely Target," The
Washington Post, September 24, 2001, pg. A7.)

But the masterminds would not need competent pilots -- if they had Global
Hawk technology.


MISSING: AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL CONVERSATIONS

Now, let's look at the contemporaneous media coverage of Operation 911. Did
you notice that during the event and for weeks after, we heard no excerpts
from the conversations between the air traffic control centers and the
pilots of the four aircraft?

Those conversations are recorded by the air traffic control centers. Surely
those conversations were newsworthy. They should have been available to the
media immediately. Why didn't we hear them? I believe the answer to this
question is simple:

If we could hear the conversations that took place, we would hear the
airline pilots telling air traffic control that the controls of their
airplanes would not respond. The pilots, of course, would have no way of
knowing that their craft had been fitted with Global Hawk technology
programmed to take over their planes.

But no, we MUST believe the crashes were the work of Muslim terrorists.
Therefore we were not permitted to hear the news as it happened. We will
have to wait for the FBI/military intelligence people to cook up doctored
and fictional conversations. They will then serve them to the public through
the complicitous mass media and strategically placed "investigative
reporters," and we will be asked to swallow them. Many of us will. (See The
Christian Science Monitor story discussed below, "Conversations with Flight
11.")


YASSABOSS

That the airlines cooperated and did whatever the FBI told them to do is no
secret. The Washington Post of September 12, 2001, says this: "Details about
who was on Flight 77, when it took off and what happened on board were
tightly held by airline, airport and security officials last night. All said
that the FBI had asked them not to divulge details."

Think back to Operation Northwoods in which the Pentagon considered
reporting a bogus passenger airplane being shot down by a non-existent Cuban
fighter jet. The Pentagon was obviously confident that some airline would go
along with the deception. Not surprising, considering many commercial
airline pilots and executives are former military pilots, and the government
controls the airline industry in many ways. These pilots and executives were
trained to do as they are told, and would be out of a job if they broke the
rules.

Why would the take-off time and the passenger list be held secret? The
passengers, crew, and culprits were all dead. The relatives must have known
that when they heard the news of the crashes. Flight departure and arrival
times had been public knowledge. The masterminds knew the details of their
own plans.

No, it was the PUBLIC that was being denied information, and the significant
information being denied was the conversations between the air traffic
controllers and the pilots. Recall that during the Vietnam War, the US
"secretly" bombed Cambodia. The bombing was no secret to the Cambodians. It
was only a secret from the American public, who were paying for the war and
may have objected to the slaughter. And that's the only purpose of the
Operation 911 secrecy: To keep the information from the public.


COMMUNICATION WITH FLIGHT 11

American Airlines Flight 11, a Boeing 767, left Boston at 7:59 a.m. on its
way to Los Angeles. It was allegedly piloted by Mohamed Atta, one of the
pilots who couldn't fly, discussed above. Flight 11 crashed into the north
tower of the WTC at 8:45 a.m.

Boston airport officials said they did not spot the plane's course until it
had crashed, and said the control tower had no unusual communications with
the pilots or any crew member." (The Washington Post, September 12, 2001,
"At Logan Airport, Nobody Saw Plane's Sharp Turn South," pg. A 10.)

Sorry, this report is not credible. Airplanes are tracked constantly. The
skies over the US are for too busy for us to have a lackadaisical attitude.

Note the date of The Washington Post story: September 12. Now compare it to
the very different story that appeared a day later, in The Christian Science
Monitor:

An American Airlines pilot stayed at the helm of hijacked Flight 11 much of
the way from Boston to New York, sending surreptitious radio transmissions
to authorities on the ground as he flew.

Because the pilot's voice was seldom heard in these covert transmissions, it
was not clear to the listening air-traffic controllers which of the two
pilots was flying the Boeing 767. What is clear is that the pilot was
secretly trying to convey to authorities the flight's desperate situation,
according to controllers familiar with the tense minutes after Flight 11 was
hijacked.

The story goes on to say that the conversations were overheard by the
controllers because the pilot had pushed a "push-to-talk" button. "When he
[the pilot] pushed the button and the terrorist spoke, we knew. There was
this voice that was threatening the pilot, and it was clearly threatening.
During these transmissions, the pilot's voice and the heavily accented voice
of a hijacker were clearly audible ...."

There are some logical problems with this account, of course, not the least
of which is that a) we are told the pilot's voice was seldom heard, b) it
was not possible to tell which pilot was at the controls, and c) during the
transmissions the pilot's voice was clearly audible.


THIS ACCOUNTING IS SPOOK TALK. LET'WS GET TO THE HEART:

All of it was recorded by a Federal Aviation Administration traffic control
center. Those tapes are now presumed to be in the hands of federal
law-enforcement officials, who arrived at the flight-control facility
minutes after Flight 11 crashed into the World Trade Center. The tapes
presumably could provide clues about the hijackers -- and may become even
more important if they plane's 'black boxes' are damaged or never found.

So, yes, the same "federal law-enforcement" machinery that cooked up the
David Koresh negotiation tapes and arranged to destroy the evidence at the
Mt. Carmel Center in the April 19 inferno will be handling these records,
too.


FLIGHT 175

The Washington Post reported a similar story for United Airlines Flight 175,
which crashed into the south tower of the World Trade Center tower at 9:06
a.m.

Less than 30 minutes into a journey that was to have taken six hours, Flight
175 took a sharp turn south into central New Jersey, near Trenton, an
unusual diversion for a plane heading west, airline employees said. It then
headed directly toward Manhattan.

Somewhere between Philadelphia and Newark--less than 90 minutes from
Manhattan--the aircraft made its final radar contact, according to a
statement released by United Airlines. (The Washington Post, "Everything
Seemed Normal When They Left' Boston Airport," September 12, 2001, pg. A10.)


Once again, there was no contemporaneous, detailed, first hand information
from the air traffic controllers about communication from the air traffic
controllers.

Of course the controls would not respond to manual directions if they were
under the control of Global Hawk.


FLIGHT 11 AND FLIGHT 175: HIJACKER PASSPORTS FOUND

We have just mentioned the distinct possibility that the masterminds of
Operation 911 will manufacture evidence. Well, here is a CNN story for your
consideration:

In New York, several blocks from the ruins of the World Trade Center, a
passport authorities said belonged to one of the hijackers was discovered a
few days ago, according to city Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik. That has
prompted the FBI and police to widen the search area beyond the immediate
crash site. ("Leaders urge 'normal' Monday after week of terror ...,
September 16, 2001 Posted: 7:07 p.m. EDT (2307 GMT)

We are asked to believe that one of the hijackers brought his passport with
him on a domestic fight, even though he knew he would not need it then, or
ever again; that upon impact the passport flew from the hijacker's pocket
(or was he holding it in his hands?), that the passport flew out of the
aircraft, that it flew out of the burning tower, and that it was carried by
the air currents and landed safely, where it could be discovered, several
blocks away ... LAWD, WHO WRITES THIS STUFF?


FLIGHT 93

United Airlines Flight 93, a Boeing 757, was scheduled to leave Newark
Airport at 8:01 a.m. for San Francisco. We are told it crashed into an
abandoned coal mine near Shanksville, Pennsylvania, at 10:37 a.m., one hour
and 50 minutes after the first World Trade Center tower was hit.

Without a doubt, Flight 93 was shot down. The first TV network reports said
exactly that: Flight 93 had been shot down by a military jet. That
information even made it into the print media.


Local residents said they had seen a second plane in the area, possibly an
F-16 fighter, and burning debris falling from the sky. [FBI Agent] Crowley
said investigators had determined that two other planes were nearby but
didn't know if either was military. ("Stories swirl around Pa. crash; black
box found," USA Today, September 14, 2001.)

Pieces of the wreckage have been found as far away as New Baltimore, about
eight miles from the crash site. When the eastbound plane crashed, a 9-knot
wind was blowing from the southeast, [FBI Agent] Crowley said. ("Bereaved
may visit Flight 93 site," Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, Friday, September 14,
2001.)


On September 11, "[r]esidents and workers at businesses outside Shanksville,
Somerset County, reported discovering clothing, books, papers, and what
appear to be human remains. Some residents said they collected bags-full of
items to be turned over to investigators. Others reported what appeared to
be crash debris floating in Indian Lake, nearly six miles from the crash
site." ("Investigators locate 'black box' from Flight 93; widen search area
in Somerset crash," [Pittsburgh] Post Gazette, September 13, 2001.)

The Washington Post reported that, just as Congressional leaders were
discussing shooting the plane down, they learned it had crashed. ("Jetliner
Was Diverted Toward Washington Before Crash in Pa," Sept. 12, 2001, pg.
A10.) The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and the FBI
denied that the plane had been shot down.

The FBI blamed the spread of debris over an 8-mile area on a 10 mph wind
that was blowing at the time. Of the debris, TIME Magazine of September 11
says: "The largest pieces of the plane still extant are barely bigger than a
telephone book." (Pages in this edition are not numbered: this quote appears
on what should be pg. 40).

Planes that crash do not disintegrate in this manner. However, the assertion
that the hijackers had a bomb on board, and the bomb exploded, might provide
an explanation for the disintegration.

There is a problem with this story, however: Hijackers who planned to crash
the plane into the Capitol would not want, or need, a bomb. In fact, a bomb
might be counterproductive: Suppose it went off before hitting the plane hit
the Capitol? The mission would be ruined. Bringing a bomb on board would
greatly increase chances the hijacker who carried the bomb would be detected
when boarding. And it's hard to imagine why hijackers would mutilate and
dismember passengers with plastic knives and box cutters when they were
planning to blow them up, anyway. No, the bomb story does not wash. You can

MORE MISSING AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL CONVERSATIONS

According to a an ABC news report by Peter Dizikes on September 13: "Federal
Aviation Administration data shows Flight 93 followed its normal flight plan
until it neared Cleveland, where the plane took a hard turn south.

"That marks the point at which the plane must have been hijacked,
investigators say. Then it took a turn east."

Note that the investigators used the phrase "must have been" hijacked.
Didn't they know? Weren't the air traffic controllers in touch with the
pilots? But the direction changes with the next paragraph:

ABC-TV NEWS has learned that shortly before the plane changed directions,
someone in the cockpit radioed in and asked the FAA for a new flight plan,
with a final destination of Washington.

Now, THAT conversation must have been interesting! You can imagine the
response of the air traffic controller: "Excuse me? Flight 93, you're in the
middle of a scheduled trip to San Francisco, but you're just changed your
mind and want to spend the day in Washington? Please explain."

According to an MSNBC story of September 22, 2001, Flight 93 was late taking
off, and did not make its way down the runway until 8:41 a.m. ("The Final
Moments of Flight 93" http://www.msnbc.com/news/632626.asp)


It was aloft for almost two hours, crashing at 10:37 a.m. Making a rough
estimate from the distances traveled and the time in the air (see TIME
Magazine, September 11, "The Paths of Destruction" ), Flight 93 went off
course sometime between 9:45 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. Recall that both towers had
been hit by 9:06 a.m., and the New York airports had been closed since 9:17
a.m. It would have been impossible for an air traffic controller on duty
between 9:45--10:00 a.m. not to know that commercial air traffic in the US
was in a dire emergency from "suicide planes."

And now Flight 93 calls in, asking permission to do a U-turn, fly east an
hour and a half, and land in Washington DC ??? What, the pilot was nervous
and didn't know there were airports in the midwest?

I'd love to hear the REAL conversation between Flight 93 and the air traffic
controllers, wouldn't you? But I think we'll have to wait a while ...

Come to think of it, why would a *hijacker* call in to ask for an OK to
change directions?


CONFLICTING AND UNBELIEVABE REPORTS

The networks dropped the story that Flight 93 had been shot down and now
said that Flight 93 passengers called their families and described a
hijacking. The hijackers were armed with box razors, and overwhelmed the
passengers and crew, and told the passengers they planned to crash into the
Capitol in Washington, DC. The hijackers also mutilated and dismembered the
passengers, presumably with their plastic knives and box cutters. What a
messy job that must have been! We were not told if the hijackers chatted to
the passengers about their plans before, after, or while they were
committing the mutilation/dismemberment. (I heard the
mutilation/dismemberment story once while watching network TV coverage. Then
the story was dropped.)

On the other hand, TIME Magazine reported that one of the passengers called
home to say: "We have been hijacked. They are being kind." (TIME, Sept. 24,
pg. 73.)

Are we believing this? I'm not.

No. Something went wrong with the masterminds' plan. They could not afford
to have Flight 93 make a conventional landing and allow the pilots and
passengers to talk about their experience. They could not afford to have the
"hijackers" survive and the electronic controls of the plane examined. So
Flight 93 was shot down.


WHO WERE THOSE PEOPLE, ANYWAY?

Before September 11, the combined forces of US military and domestic
intelligence -- the CIA, the FBI, the Defense Intelligence Agency, the
National Security Agency -- were clueless that such a catastrophic event
would occur. Yet a day or so later, the FBI had secured the names and
mugshots of each of the 19 hijackers. How did the FBI know who the hijackers
were? After all, all the eyewitnesses are dead. How could the FBI
distinguish between "regular" Muslims and hijacker Muslims on those flights?
Or did they just go through the passenger lists culling out the
Muslim-sounding names and labeling the people bearing those names as
hijackers? "You're Muslim so you're a hijacker..."

On September 30 I looked at the passenger lists of those four flights. To my
surprise, the lists contained none of the hijackers' names. Here are the

Then I went searching on Usenet for more information. I found that
<AF...@webtv.net> had noticed the hijackers' names were not on the passenger
lists on September 27, on alt.culture.alaska, "Re: BLACK BOXES AND
BODIES -(2). " I don't know what you'll find when you look at the passenger
lists, but the historical record is there.

The FBI may be lying, of course, and the airlines telling the truth: Perhaps
none of the "hijackers' were passengers on those four planes. If that is
true, the airlines are helping the FBI commit a most grievous fraud on the
public. What does that say for the airlines' integrity? In either case, we
can place little confidence in the veracity of the information in those
lists. Names could have been added just as easily as they may have been
deleted.


DON'T TAKE THE CREDIT, TAKE THE BLAME

By now you've realized that it's OK to believe in conspiracies provided they
are Muslim conspiracies. In fact, we MUST believe that a man who dresses in
sheets lives in a tent or a cave in the middle of nowhere - Osama bin
Laden -- was the mastermind. He used his $300 million fortune to pull off
Operation 911. Come to think of it, how do we know the size of his fortune?
Does the FBI know his banker? And given that the world's banking system is
highly centralized and in the hands of Mr. bin Laden's avowed enemies, how
could our terrorist tent-dweller have retained his fortune all these years?
If Mr. bin Laden could have pulled this off in New York, why didn't he pick
on his more direct enemy, Israel, and do a 911 on them?

Brilliant as Mr. bin Laden is, he forgot to take credit for the attack. Even
worse, he forgot to issue any demands. He allowed his operatives to use
their Muslim names and leave a clear trail for the FBI to follow. Mr. Atta,
the pilot of Flight 11 (north World Trade Center), was particularly helpful.
He kindly left his car at the Boston Airport. Luckily, an unnamed source
drew the FBI's attention to this car. According to radio reports, the FBI
found a suicide note written in Arabic and a copy of the Koran in the car.
Mr. Atta liked to write in Arabic; he wrote a second, long document in that
language, which, for some reason, he put in his luggage. Coincidentally,
this luggage did not make it to Flight 11, so the FBI found it at the
airport. Another lucky break! But why Mr. Atta would take luggage on a
suicide mission has not been explained. The same note was carried by one of
the hijackers on Flight 93, and, Mother of Miracles! survived the crash,
even though the airplane itself was torn into shards. Everything was so
amazing that Bob Woodward, the man who talks to the dead, was called in to
write a story about it all.

Read Mr. Woodward's article. Mr. Atta sounds like a Jewish lawyer with his
wires crossed, exhorting his co-conspirators to remember their wills and
reminding them that Mohammed was an "optimist;" exhorting his fellows to
"utilize" (ugh--there's a lawyer's word for you -- what's Arabic for
"utilize"?) their few hours left to ask God's forgiveness. God's forgiveness
for what? They were about to die heros, martyrs in the good cause ...

Sure, we believe every word. We swallow the whole story.


On the other hand, here is the International Television News article on the

The American high-altitude Global Hawk spy plane made flew (sic) across the
ocean to Australia, defence officials confirmed.

The Global Hawk, a jet-powered aircraft with a wingspan equivalent to a
Boeing 737, flew from Edwards Air Force Base in California and landed late
on Monday at the Royal Australian Air Force base at Edinburgh, in South
Australia state.

The 8600 mile (13840 km) flight, at an altitude of almost 12.5 miles (20
km), took 22 hours and set a world record for the furthest a robotic
aircraft has flown between two points.

The Global Hawk flies along a pre-programmed flight path, but a pilot
monitors the aircraft during its flight via a sensor suite which provides
infra-red and visual images.

"The aircraft essentially flies itself, right from takeoff, right through to
landing, and even taxiing off the runway," said Rod Smith, the Australian

Fellow countrymen:

No one can deny that terrorism is today a dangerous and ethically
indefensible phenomenon, which should be eradicated regardless of its deep
origins, the economic and political factors that brought it to life and
those responsible for it.

The unanimous irritation caused by the human and psychological damage
brought on the American people by the unexpected and shocking death of
thousands of innocent people whose images have shaken the world is
perfectly understandable.

But who have profited? The extreme right, the most backward and right-wing
forces, those in favour of crushing the growing world rebellion and
sweeping away everything progressive that is still left on the planet.

It was an enormous error, a huge injustice and a great crime, whomever they
are who organised or are responsible for such action.

However, the tragedy should not be used to recklessly start a war that
could actually unleash an endless carnage of innocent people and all of
this on behalf of justice and under the peculiar and bizarre name of
"Infinite Justice".

In the last few days we have seen the hasty establishment of the basis, the
concept, the true purposes, the spirit and the conditions for such a war.

No one would be able to affirm that it was not something thought out well
in advance, something that was just waiting for its chance to materialise.

Those who after the so-called end of the cold war continued a military
build-up and the development of the most sophisticated means to kill and
exterminate human beings were aware that the large military investments
would give them the privilege to impose an absolute and complete dominance
over the other peoples of the world.

The most extremist ideologists and the most belligerent hawks, already set
in privileged power positions, have taken command of the most powerful
country in the world whose military and technological capabilities would
seem infinite.

Actually, its capacity to destroy and kill is enormous while its
inclination towards equanimity, serenity, thoughtfulness and restraint is
minimal.

The first victims of whatever military actions are undertaken will be the
billions of people living in the poor and underdeveloped world with their
unbelievable economic and social problems, their unpayable debts and the
ruinous prices of their basic commodities; their growing natural and
ecological catastrophes, their hunger and misery, the massive
undernourishment of their children, teenagers and adults; their terrible
AIDS epidemic, their malaria, their tuberculosis and their infectious
diseases that threaten whole nations with extermination.

The grave economic world crisis was already a real and irrefutable fact
affecting absolutely every one of the big economic power centres.

Such crisis will inevitably grow deeper under the new circumstances, and
when it becomes unbearable for the overwhelming majority of the peoples, it
will bring chaos, rebellion and the impossibility to govern.

But the price will also be unpayable for the rich countries. For years to
come it would be impossible to speak about the environment and the ecology,
or about ideas and research done and tested, or about projects for the
protection of Nature because that space and possibility would be taken by
military actions, war and crimes as infinite as "Infinite Justice".

Can there be any hope left after having listened to the speech made by the
President before the US Congress?

I will avoid the use of adjectives, qualifiers or offensive words towards
the author of that speech. They would be absolutely unnecessary and
untimely when the tensions and seriousness of the moment advise
thoughtfulness and equanimity. I will limit myself to underline some short
phrases that say it all:

"We will use every necessary weapon of war."

"Americans should not expect one battle, but a lengthy campaign unlike any
other we have ever seen."

"Every nation in every region now has a decision to make. Either you are
with us or you are with the terrorists."

"I've called the armed forces to alert and there is a reason. The hour is
coming when America will act and you will make us proud."

"This is the world's fight, this is civilisation's fight."

"I ask for your patience [...] in what will be a long struggle."

"The great achievement of our time and the great hope of every time, now
depend on us."

"The course of this conflict is not known, yet its outcome is certain.
[...] And we know that God is not neutral."

I ask our fellow countrymen to meditate deeply and calmly on the ideas
contained in several of the above-mentioned phrases:

"Either you are with us or you are with the terrorists."

No nation of the world has been left out of the dilemma, not even the big
and powerful states; none has escaped the threat of war or attacks.

"We will use any weapon."

No procedure has been excluded, regardless of its ethics, or any threat,
however fatal - either nuclear, chemical, biological or any other.

"It will not be short combat but a lengthy war, lasting many years,
unparalleled in history."

"It is the world's fight; it is civilisation's fight."

"The achievements of our times and the hope of every time, now depend on
us."

Finally, an unheard of confession in a political speech on the eve of a
war, and no less than in times of apocalyptic risks:

"The course of this conflict is not known; yet its outcome is certain.
And we know that God is not neutral."

This is an amazing assertion. When I think about the real or imagined
parties involved in that bizarre holy war that is about to begin, I find it
difficult to make a distinction about where fanaticism is stronger.

Before the United States Congress, the idea was designed of a world
military dictatorship under the exclusive rule of force, irrespective of
any international laws or institutions.

The United Nations Organisation, simply ignored in the present crisis,
would fail to have any authority or prerogative whatsoever. There would be
only one boss, only one judge, and only one law. We have all been ordered
to ally either with the United States Government or with terrorism.

Our country, that has suffered the most and the longest from terrorist
actions, the one whose people are not afraid of anything because there is
no threat or power in the world that can intimidate it, with a high morale,
we claim that we are opposed to terrorism and opposed to war.

Although the possibilities are now remote, we reaffirm the need to avert
a war of unpredictable consequences whose very authors have admitted not to
have the least idea of how the events will unfold.

An objective and calm friend should advise the United States Government
against throwing the young American soldiers into an uncertain war in
remote, isolated and inaccessible places, like a fight against ghosts, not
knowing where they are or even if they exist or not, or whether the people
they kill are responsible or not for the death of their innocent fellow
countrymen killed in the United States.

We will never declare itself an enemy of the American people that is
today subjected to an unprecedented campaign to sow hatred and a vengeful
spirit, so much so that even the music that sings to peace has been banned.

We will make that music its own, and even our children will sing their
songs to peace while the announced bloody war lasts.

Whatever happens, we will never be used for terrorist
actions against the American people and we will do everything within our
reach to prevent such actions against that people. Today we are expressing
our solidarity while urging to peace and calmness. One day they will admit
we were right.

We will defend with honour and to the last drop of blood our independence,
our principles and our social achievements if we are attacked!

It will not be easy to fabricate pretexts to do it. They are already
talking about a war using all the necessary weapons but it will be good to
recall that not even that would be a new experience.

It is time for serenity and courage.

The world will grow aware of this and will raise its voice in the face of
the terrible threatening drama that it is about to suffer.

This is the right time to proclaim more proudly and resolutely than
ever....

...In calling for a new investigation, some structural engineers have


said that one serious mistake has already been made in the chaotic
aftermath of the collapses: the decision to rapidly recycle the steel
columns, beams and trusses that held up the buildings. That may have
cost investigators some of their most direct physical evidence with
which to try to piece together an answer.

Officials in the mayor's office declined to reply to written and oral

requests for comment over a three-day period about who decided to


recycle the steel and the concern that the decision might be
handicapping the investigation...

Interviews with a handful of members of the team, which includes some of
the nation's most respected engineers, also uncovered complaints that
they had at various times been shackled with bureaucratic restrictions
that prevented them from interviewing witnesses, examining the disaster
site and requesting crucial information like recorded distress calls to
the police and fire departments...

"This is almost the dream team of engineers in the country working on
this, and our hands are tied," said one team member who asked not to be
identified. Members have been threatened with dismissal for speaking to
the press. "FEMA is controlling everything," the team member said...

Dr. Frederick W. Mowrer, an associate professor in the fire protection
engineering department at the University of Maryland, said he believed
the decision could ultimately compromise any investigation of the
collapses. "I find the speed with which potentially important evidence
has been removed and recycled to be appalling," Dr. Mowrer said.

January 7, 2002--This from Jim McMichael: Three articles concerning
Fire Engineering magazine's criticisms of the investigation of the
WTC collapse.

Two articles on the subject appear in the January edition of the
magazine, one written by editor-in chief Bill Manning, the second
signed by three other authors. In turn, editor-in-chief Manning was
interviewed by the New York Daily News on January 4. The three
articles appear below, after McMichael's comments.

Editor-in-chief Manning is calling the present investigation run by
the American Society of Civil Engineers "a half-baked farce," and has
condemned the destruction of WTC evidence. "For more than three
months, structural steel from the World Trade Center has been and
continues to be cut up and sold for scrap. Crucial evidence that
could answer many questions about high-rise building design practices
and performance under fire conditions is on the slow boat to China,
perhaps never to be seen again in America until you buy your next
car," says Manning. So far so good.

The second article says " ... the structural damage from the planes


and the explosive ignition of jet fuel in themselves were not enough

to bring down the towers," but the authors go on to furnish their own
answers to the riddle of the collapse, suggesting they may not have
an open mind about the inquiry. The quality of the fireproofing is
the designated culprit.

The authors of the second article make it quite clear they buy the
official story: "Yes, it was the terrorist pilots who slammed two
jetliners into the Twin Towers. It was the ensuing fire, however,
that brought the towers down."

How do the authors know this? No fire has ever caused the complete
collapse of high rise office buildings in the history of the
industrialized world.

The second article goes on to state: "Make no mistake about it: This
high-rise collapse was no 'fluke.' The temperatures experienced and
heat release rates achieved at the World Trade Center could be seen
in future high-rise fires."

But as Jim McMichael points out, jet fuel does not burn hot enough to

Jet airplanes and high rise office buildings have coexisted
peacefully for decades. Yet, all of a sudden, SHRIEK! Fire
Engineering realizes there's a problem. Now they are predicting more
such occurrences. (Doubtlessly, such can be arranged by the WTC
perpetrators for a little posthumous credibility.)

None of the Fire Engineering writers raise the question of what
caused the concrete in the twin towers to turn into powder. Didn't
they notice that?

None of writers asked what caused the disappearance of the buildings'
massive steel interior columns. Didn't they notice that? Even warm
licorice holds it shape, and so should "softened" steel.

Fire Engineering is calling upon Sen. Charles Schumer, who has joined
other would-be whistleblowers, to support a REAL investigation.
That's right, they expect integrity from "Burn 'em Alive" Schumer,
who, while in the House of Representatives, assassinated the Branch
Davidians all over again during the so-called Congressional
"investigation."

What kind of foul creature would help the US cover up the torture and
murder of innocent women and children by degrading the dead? And how
naive would you have to be to expect help from him on the WTC
investigation?

Remember that Israel, not the Muslim world, is benefitting from the
events of 9-11. Certainly Israel has the gall to attack America.
Remember the USS Liberty! http://www.USSLiberty.com . Israel, not a
man living in a cave, had the technical sophistication to pull off
the job. Israel, not bin Laden, had the contacts within the US Air
Force to make sure the military organization that guards American
skies (NORAD) was not around on September 11.

Fire Engineering, Sen. Schumer is an Israeli patriot, not an American
patriot. Or didn't you notice that, either? Do you seriously expect
Mr. Schumer to arrange a real investigation of the 9-11 atrocities?

Friends, it sounds like yet another fake investigation is on the way,
a la Waco and Oklahoma City.

"Burning Questions...Need Answers": FE's Bill Manning Calls for
Comprehensive Investigation of WTC Collapse

Fair Lawn, NJ, January 4, 2002 - Bill Manning, Fire Engineering's
editor in chief, is summoning members of the fire service to "A
Call to Action." In his January 2002 Editor's Opinion, "$elling
Out the Investigation" (below ), he warns that unless there is a
full-blown investigation by an independent panel established solely
for that purpose, "the World Trade Center fire and collapse will
amount to paper- and computer-generated hypotheticals." Manning
explained: "Clearly, there are burning questions that need answers
.... The lessons about the buildings'
design and behavior in this extraordinary event must be learned
and applied in the real world."

In an interview with the New York Daily News today, Manning
reiterated his call for a "full-throttle, fully resourced"
investigation into the collapse of the World Trade Center. He is
asking members of the fire service to read "WTC 'Investigation'?
A Call to Action" in the January 2002 issue of Fire Engineering
and at fireengineering.com and to contact their representatives
in Congress and officials in Washington to ask that a blue ribbon
panel be convened to thoroughly investigate the WTC collapse.

Among those also calling for the investigation are Sally
Regenhard, the mother of Christian Regenhard, the Fire Department
of New York (FDNY) probationary firefighter killed in the World
Trade Center (WTC) attack, and founder of the Campaign for
Skyscraper Safety; Give Your Voice, a civilian relatives' group
headed by Michael Cartier, who lost his brother in the collapse;
prominent structural engineers and fire-safety experts, and New
York State Senators Charles Schumer and Senator Hillary Rodham
Clinton.

$elling Out the Investigation

Did they throw away the locked doors from the Triangle Shirtwaist

Fire? Did they throw away the gas can used at the Happyland
Social Club Fire? Did they cast aside the pressure-regulating
valves at the Meridian Plaza Fire? Of course not. But essentially,
that's what they're doing at the World Trade Center.

For more than three months, structural steel from the World Trade
Center has been and continues to be cut up and sold for scrap.
Crucial evidence that could answer many questions about high-rise
building design practices and performance under fire conditions
is on the slow boat to China, perhaps never to be seen again in
America until you buy your next car.

Such destruction of evidence shows the astounding ignorance of
government officials to the value of a thorough, scientific
investigation of the largest fire-induced collapse in world
history. I have combed through our national standard for fire
investigation, NFPA 921, but nowhere in it does one find an
exemption allowing the destruction of evidence for buildings over
10 stories tall.

Hoping beyond hope, I have called experts to ask if the towers
were the only high-rise buildings in America of lightweight,
center-core construction. No such luck. I made other calls
asking if these were the only buildings in America with
light-density, sprayed-on fireproofing. Again, no luck-they were
two of thousands that fit the description.

Comprehensive disaster investigations mean increased safety.
They mean positive change. NASA knows it. The NTSB knows it.
Does FEMA know it?

No. Fire Engineering has good reason to believe that the
"official investigation" blessed by FEMA and run by the American
Society of Civil Engineers is a half-baked farce that may already
have been commandeered by political forces whose primary
interests, to put it mildly, lie far afield of full disclosure.
Except for the marginal benefit obtained from a three-day, visual
walk-through of evidence sites conducted by ASCE investigation
committee members- described by one close source as a "tourist
trip"-no one's checking the evidence for anything.

Maybe we should live and work in planes. That way, if disaster
strikes, we will at least be sure that a thorough investigation
will help find ways to increase safety for our survivors.

As things now stand and if they continue in such fashion, the
investigation into the World Trade Center fire and collapse will
amount to paper- and computer generated hypotheticals.

However, respected members of the fire protection engineering
community are beginning to raise red flags, and a resonating
theory has emerged: The structural damage from the planes and the


explosive ignition of jet fuel in themselves were not enough to

bring down the towers. Rather, theory has it, the subsequent
contents fires attacking the questionably fireproofed lightweight
trusses and load-bearing columns directly caused the collapses in
an alarmingly short time. Of course, in light of there being no
real evidence thus far produced, this could remain just
unexplored theory.

The frequency of published and unpublished reports raising
questions about the steel fireproofing and other fire protection
elements in the buildings, as well as their design and
construction, is on the rise. The builders and owners of the
World Trade Center property, the Port Authority of New York-New
Jersey, a governmental agency that operates in an accountability
vacuum beyond the reach of local fire and building codes, has
denied charges that the buildings' fire protection or
construction components were substandard but has refused to
cooperate with requests for documentation supporting its
contentions.

Some citizens are taking to the streets to protest the
investigation sellout. Sally Regenhard, for one, wants to know
why and how the building fell as it did upon her unfortunate son
Christian, an FDNY probationary firefighter. And so do we.

Clearly, there are burning questions that need answers. Based on
the incident's magnitude alone, a full-throttle, fully resourced,
forensic investigation is imperative. More important, from a
moral standpoint, for the safety of present and future
generations who live and work in tall buildings-and for
firefighters, always first in and last out-the lessons about the
buildings' design and behavior in this extraordinary event must
be learned and applied in the real world.

To treat the September 11 incident any differently would be the
height of stupidity and ignorance.

The destruction and removal of evidence must stop immediately.

The federal government must scrap the current setup and
commission a fully resourced blue ribbon panel to conduct a clean
and thorough investigation of the fire and collapse, leaving no
stones unturned.

Firefighters, this is your call to action. Visit WTC

representatives in Congress and officials in Washington and help
us correct this problem immediately.

devastated families, thoughts of the tremendous impact on so many
lives for so many years to come. Yet, we-America's fire
service-are left with one critical thought: How can we prevent a
disaster like this from ever happening again?

the towers down. Make no mistake about it: This high-rise

There are many, many questions to be asked by us about the World
Trade Center collapse and its implications on high-rise
firefighting across the nation. Some questions are political,
many are technical, others are philosophical. Here are a few (inno
particular order) to think about.

* Given the typical resources of most fire departments, can we be
expected to handle every high-rise fire thrown at us? When was
the last time your city manager asked you for a complete list
of resources that you need to fight a high-rise fire, including
personnel? When was the last time a high-rise building owner
asked if you would like him to install a special "firefighter
elevator" for your exclusive use during a high-rise fire? When
was the last time a building code committee called up a
"downtown" battalion chief and asked him what he thought of the
unlimited area and height provisions found in all of the model
building codes-is it OK if we allow a 400-story building in
your battalion, Chief? The bottom line is, Can we really handle
high-rise fires adequately? Who are we kidding? Isn't this the
"big secret" that Chief Vincent Dunn has been talking about for
years?

* Beware the truss! Frank Brannigan has been admonishing us for
years about this topic. It has been reported that the World
Trade Center floors were supported by lightweight steel
trusses, some in excess of 50 feet long. Need we say more?

* Modern sprayed-on steel "fireproofing" did not perform well at
the World Trade Center. Haven't we always been leery about
these materials? Why do many firefighters say that they would
rather fight a high-rise fire in an old building than in a
modern one? Isn't it because of the level of fire resistance
provided? How much confidence do we have in the ASTM E-119 fire
resistance test, whose test criteria were developed in the
1920s? ASTM E-119 is an antiquated test whose criteria for fire
resistance do not replicate today's fires.

* The defend-in-place strategy was the wrong strategy at the
World Trade Center. Many of those who ignored the directions
to "stay where you are" are alive today because they
self-evacuated. Do you still use defend-in-place strategies
for large high-rise fires? When should you use them, and when
should you not?

* We can see live broadcasts from Afghanistan, but we can't
communicate via radios in many high-rise buildings. What
gives?

There are many more questions, more than we have answers for.
What is clear is that things must change. Where do we begin? By
putting things in perspective. The World Trade Center disaster
was

* The largest loss of firefighters ever at one incident.
* The second largest loss of life on American soil.
* The first total collapse of a high-rise during a fire in
United States history.
* The largest structural collapse in recorded history.

Now, with that understanding, you would think we would have the
largest fire investigation in world history. You would be wrong.
Instead, we have a series of unconnected and uncoordinated
superficial inquiries. No comprehensive "Presidential Blue
Ribbon Commission." No top-notch National Transportation Safety
Board-like response. Ironically, we will probably gain more
detailed information about the destruction of the planes than we
will about the destruction of the towers. We are literally
treating the steel removed from the site like garbage, not like
crucial fire scene evidence.

The World Trade Center disaster demands the most comprehensive
detailed investigation possible. No event in our entire fire
service history has ever come close to the magnitude of this
incident.

We, the undersigned, call on FEMA to immediately impanel a "World
Trade Center Disaster Review Panel" to coordinate a complete
review of all aspects of the World Trade Center incident.

The panel should be charged with creating a comprehensive report
that examines a variety of topics including determining exactly
how and why the towers collapsed, critiquing the building
evacuation procedures and the means of egress, assessing the
buildings' fire protection features (steel "fireproofing,"
fireprotection systems, etc.), and reviewing the valiant firefighting
procedures employed. In addition, the Panel should be charged
with preparing a detailed set of recommendations, including the
critical changes necessary to our building codes. Please e-mail
