That's allright...

: My question relates to the broad freedoms you have in Holland.

Tan you'r offtopic here... this ng is about a tv-show (where ppl have
no privacy... Hence the name.) [Please respect the followup-to
header.]
:
: The porno coming out of Holland is hard -- animal, rape, scat, etc.

Sex w/ animals is illegal. Rape is illegal.
What's scat?
:
: You have liberal drug laws too and Euthanasia.

Drugs: We have strict laws, they're just not always strongly enforced.
Euthanasia: There are *very* strict guidelines for this.
:
: As I come from a country (Australia) where there is much interference

Maybe it's because we have so many political parties, that can never
agree on major issues...
:
: Do you have politicians who try to ban porno?

Sure...
:
: Or are Dutch polticians just very mature?

LOL! Not very likely.
:
: This issue has interested me for a long time.
:
: What is the Dutch attitude to freedoms of expression?

Roughly... You can do/express anything, as long as it isn't harmful/
discriminating to anybody else.
:
: I know you have different encryption export laws too? Can you please
: explain how this is possible.

I never understood why those should not be exported...

: In my country, hard porno is banned, drugs are outlawed and

Like I said before, here too...

By whom?

Films depicting sex with animals -- bestiality -- are sold from Dutch
companies such as Dutch Pleasures and Escapade. So are films depicting
rape -- the act of rape is not real, but the visuals are hardcore.

Companies such as Book and Film International -- Dutch-based -- make
bestiality movies.

"Scat" is a slang term for porno movies where featuring excrement.

lol

Why do they never succeed? I am not anti-porno, but I am interested in
the mechanics of your government.

I guess pollies are the same the world over.

The U.S. government is very afraid of encryption. They don't want it
exported because they don't want other countries using it against
them.

But it seems not to be banned. It is available in stores in Amsterdam
and on the net.

Euthanasia was legalized in the Northern Territory of Australia a
couple of years ago. A member of Parliament challenged it and it was
reppealed.

Currently, the Australian government has passed a draconian net
censorship bill which prohibits Australians from accessing X-rated
material on the internet. Many people think this is a laugh.
Impossible to enforce.

I am very disappointed that our government has done this without
political opposition from shadow parties.

I am very grateful, Buzz, to you for responding to my questions.

What about encryption? Anything may be encrypted here, the law
enforcement has no rights! :-)

Yep, but we don't seem to care if it's sold anyway.

You might get the health services screaming about that, not the law.

Anybody can look up how RSA works... It's simple too.

Are you saying that if I wrote: ''

Now choose e so it has no factor in common with L
Next choose d so: ((d*e) mod L)=1.

To decrypt s: m=(s CENSORED s) mod N.

Child pornography, and other *abuse* are illegal. If you find such

Harddrugs are illegal. So are softdrugs, but ppl are not prosecuted
if _only_ small quantities of softdrugs are involved.

Maybe you voted for the wrong party. Or it's time to start your own.
