Dear «Pas de deux»,

I have noticed that you inundate Usenet with posts that out of the blue
quote foreign words in order to impress your fellow morons with your
"poliglotic abilities". And as long as this practice alleviates your
anxieties and deep inferiority compleces - I am all for it.

However, please, please don't mangle the victim languages! it'not
enough to bookmark an online English-German dictionary. You should take
2 or 3 introductory German grammar lessons in order to be able to use
the dictionary.

You see, the word "Urheimat" is feminine. And the article in front of
feminine German words is "die" not "der". "Der" is masculine.

The correct term is "die Indoeuropäische Urheimat", not "der
Indoeuropäische Urheimat".

Although, if you were to use prepositions, you would say "aus der
Indoeuropäische Urheimat". But that's too advanced to explain to a
novice like yourself.

And happy future showing-offs to you!

Wenn schon, denn schon: "aus der indoeuropäischen Urheimat"
(zwei Fehler in einem oberlehrerischen Satz)
Also: folge deiner eigenen Empfehlung. Erst danach hast du

A question is: given that you don't know any German, why do you show by
trying to use it?

MORE IMPORTANTLY: even if you DID know it - why would you insist on
showing this off without any need for this? For example, why do you
insist on swearing at your opponents in English+brokenGerman+French?

Don't you think this is highly immature?

Wrong imperative. At best it can be referred to as elitarian
specification of general hypothetical imperative. Whereas we live in
wonderful times of progressive democracy and interactive illiteracy. So
forget Kant & Co. Now back to the Subject, what's the point? Even
Brookski knows that Russia = Nasha Indoevropeyskaya Rodina. Ergo all
decent SCR + SCB + SCG readers should hail Russia or just shut up!
P.S. All Magyars should first learn Russian and then hail Russia 2.

Yes, that's what the police report must have said: "The suspect,
Brookski, engaged in 21 acts of farting in the general eastward
direction, in the middle of a crowded downtown restaurant. He claimed
that public farting is part of his country's high culture. After a
medical exam, he was fined and released".

Bornholm IS Denmarks, not stolen by Russia. You don't seem to have a
clue about things you discuss. The island was occupied by germans in 4
years, and at the end of the war by Soviet for less than a year. Since
1946-04-05 the island is given back to Denmark.

First of all, you should know that this "Musashi Miyamoto" is the
latest alias of Mark Brooks, who has no realtion to Japan. Except that
he probably hates them as he hates all non-Americans (Canadians in
particular).

Second, if Japan and Germany didn't want to lose their own territory,
they should have thought twice before invading other countries and
starting World War II.

In the fifties in the Hungarian schools the group was called Indogerman,
the change there happened later. In the eighties in the US the word
Indogerman was footnote only in the books. The Words Major Languages
(1990) uses only Indo European.

Just as a point of fact. The U.S. did occupy both Germany and Japan for a
number of years after WWII, Japan longer than Germany I believe. We didn't
stay their for the purpose of taking their countries over, just to try to
ensure that the conditions that led to WWII could not repeat themselves.

In Hungary the later prime minister Kadar invited the the Russian

Germany.

Sure they did. France "ripped" Alsace and Lorraine (sp?) off of Germany
as the result of WWI and then once again as the result of WWII, and
"occupied" them. Poland also "ripped bits off" Germany as the result of
WWII and "occupied" them. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if it turned
out that Latvia and Lithuania are now in charge of some native
German/Prussian and Polish lands.

And those were much larger "bits" than Kurils.

After the Holocaust there was a resurgence of antisemitism in Hungary.
Jews returning from the concentration camps were the subject of
inflammatory propaganda, blood-libels, pillage and assault, culminating
in two pogroms.

LOL. East German gov kept inviting SU all the time ... even as the last

Check? What for? If you TRULY COULD SPEAK German, you would have known
that the very common word "Hemat" (home country, homeland) is feminine
and comes as "die Heimat".

So, we now know that you are not fluent in German. By itself, that's
nothing to be ashamed of at all. Heck, being from Montreal, you are
fluent in two languages - French and English, which is more than your
neighbors to the South can brag of.

But what is unusual is that you insist on inserting German words into
your posts. For no reason. Out of the blue. And often as swears at
other people. As if you were a REAL German-speaker and these German
swear words came from the bottom of your heart.

But now you admit that when you want to post German words, you have to
"check" them with your dictionary first. And we now know that when you
forget to "check" them, you get them wrong.

So, why do you insert these German swear words at all? To show off,
isn't it?

>

You mean, you have more time to waste and thus you can "check" the
correctness of your foreign texts better than I can? I'll grant you
that. You win: you have more time to waste on pissing contests.

So, when right after WWII, the Russian troops were temporarily
stationed in Bornholm for 11 months between 1945-05-05 and 1946-04-05
and then peacefully withdrew - that was "a theft". And when right after
WWII, the US troops were stationed all over Western Europe, Japan and
East Asia for many years - that was "a gift". Interesting...

What does 1945 have to do with it? Japs kicked the Brits out much earlier
than that. Ever hear of things like the Rangoon or Singapore? The Brits were
relegated to little skirmishing attacks from Burma and India.

The only reason Australia didn't fall to the Japs was due to the US.

Karla,

But west Germans far preferred US/Brits to Soviets.

Of course, this is no different from what the USSR did in Afghanistan,
Baltics and Eastern Europe.

Sure. Of course the Soviets even dressed up Spetnaz troops as Afghan palace
guards and assasinated Afghan prez and his whole family because he wasn't
obeying orders. Similiar operation to the Bolsheviks killing Nicholas and
his family.

Imperialist are imperialists. Gladly, one of these two imperialists no

As if the SU's actions were by choice. SU collapsed and the prison guards
could no longer control the prisoners.
When the gate was left open, the Poles, Germans and everybody else ran as
fast as their little feet could carry them, far away from the Soviets.

Of course they didn't, the U.S. occupation of West Germany was forced at
first, in an effort to avoid the same build up and eventual aggression that
marked WWI, and WWII.

Since they seemed incapable of establishing a peaceful regime on their own,
it is of little wonder why the US and the rest of the allied forces
established one for them.

Except for the fact that the USSR never willingly turned control back over
to those countries. It took a war, or a rebellion, or economic collapse of
the USSR economy/state to enact that change.

Wow...

Similarly, I fail to see how USA has "willingly turned control back

Note! The attributions to previous posters except for the immediately
previoous Doemer post may well be wrong.

Of course there are differences between the US and USSR/Russia.
However!
A Soviet Russian apologist could very well argue that the US and USSR
actions are mirror images.
In Afghanistan the Soviets claim that they were invited in then
when their puppet regime did not perform as desired, they staged
the coup. But then they set up another puppet. Finally, when they
were still unable to win over the insurgents they gave up and
pulled out. By that time it was clear that they were running the
show and not just helping a legitamate government.
The US and allies were not invited in. THey invaded, toppled the
existing govenment and are now trying to set up an independant
government, (i.e. a puppet government). In the meantime they
and their puppet government are encountering an armed insurection.
As yet the insurection has not yet been put down. So the situation
appears to be similar to that faced by the Soviets.
However we all believe that the US and allies intend to pull out
leaving a viable Afghan government in control, whereas the Soviets
intended to annex the country.

The most recent actions by the US i.e. the invasion of Iraq,
even as it disengages from europe, do seem to argue that the US,
especially under the leadership of George W Bush Jr. and the
Republican party is an imperialist state.

It hasn't happened yet, the process of turning these governments over to
their people will happen though. You guys bitch no matter what. You bitch
when the U.S. bailed too quickly after the overthrow of the Soviets in
Afgahnistan which allowed the Taliban to take control, now you bitch because
we aren't leaving quick enough. If we left Iraq or Afgahnistan right now,
this minute, and another abusive regime were to take control, ten years from
now you'd be bitching about that.

The main reason they gave up and pulled out was economic. They simply
couldn't afford to sustain their military.

Prove that it is a puppet government.

In the meantime they

Except the Soviets did not have the goverment fighting along side of them
after a certain point, nor did the Soviets intend on returning full power to
the government when they were done.

Exactly, hence the difference.

Although I didn't, nor do I now, support the invasion of Iraq by the U.S., I
would never say that the intention of the invasion was imperialist. The
intention was to remove a madman and his equally insane family (sons).
(Regardless of all the WMD crap that Bush spewed) I personally believe that
the price was too high in terms of civilian deaths and injuries, however
there is little that can be done about that now. The only viable option now
is to stay until the job is done, otherwise it is difficult to say whose
hands the country will fall under next. While I have a great respect for
moderate Muslim views, religion, and people, the extremists seem to, more
often than not, come to power where a vacuum exists.

James, you are so naive. You need to get more infos. Cold war was a
dual-empires competition. All sorts of tricks were in play. When Russia
unilaterally decided to withdraw from this competition, most of the world
thought that world peace would happen. But the remaining empire just felt
that the way was now free to take over what Russia has chosen to let go.
That's when USA started to lose any credibility and respect from other
western countries. That's when US big buddies in middle-east (aka Laden,
Hussein) started to turn against their former friend.

What's interesting is that US was quite happy to watch USSR getting
exhausted in Afghanistan. They trained and funded terrorists to make it
tough for Soviets. It was a very successful strategy. So successful that
radical islamists now feel that they can repel the empire even if they are
not backed by another. Now, the US are in the same position where USSR was,
but ironically, the terrorists they created have grown in numbers and are
out of their control. Just to talk about relevance of long-term strategy
instead of short-term benefits.

The Soviets didn't unilaterally decide to withdraw from the competition,
they simply could not afford the compitition anymore. Their economy was on
the verge of collapse.

Most likely they were a trophy brigade. When they were through stealing
everything of value and through raping all the German women, they peacefully
withdrew.

Russia still refuses to return all the artworks they stole from Germany,
while the US has returned everything.

Then why DID you post this drivel of yours to sci.lang and
soc.culture.magyar? Is your brain OK?

However, I will delete sci.lang anyway.
