I believe that most Lebanese want to see all foreign armies withdraw from
Lebanese territory. However, does the Lebanese army have enough manpower,
and training to be able to maintain the peace within its own borders? Is it
better to have one full complete withdrawl or perhaps withdrawls by stages?
I would like to hear everyones opinions on this .
Thank You

The Lebanese Army number is more than enough. If our government consider Syria
as a friendly country thenthere is no need to have soldiers all along the border
with Syria. We only need policemen and Immigration officers on several points
between the two countries. Now what is left is Israel. I am sure that the
Lebanese is more than able to take over the border with Israel. On the top of
that he is able, if the political decision is taking, to crush anybody who is
willing to disturbe the peace.

"LEBANON IS FOR LEBANESE"
Having an army, with so many soliders, and equipment, will not solve the
lebanese economic and social problems.
Let say you have the army, who you will fight? Syria, Israel,
Palestinians, etc. No, the Lebanese army never used for any thing,
except being maid to government officials.
Why spend money on tanks? Build a school.
Why spend money on increasing the army, and increasing the deficite?
spend money in helping the poor Lebanese, who are living in hell.
>>>i believe the most lebaneese want to see all foreign armies withdraw from

only if there is a political will and all partys in lebanon they will learn
how to adress their problems throug discussion you dont need army to keep
peace in lebanon you need good police force it will do the job (( the problem

I respect your religion. I live in Antelyas the heart of all Christians. Can you

If the traitors happens to be Christians, they will be insulted and executed. I did

You are wrong, you can fight someone but respect his values if he has any.
All my enemies during the war time , especially those who were captured respect me
( including IDF soldiers) . Richard the Lion heart respected Salahuddeen, the
Iranians respected Omar Almukhtar., even the Jews respect Alqassam.

Hello Tannous.
The Lebanese Army today numbers about 60,000 troops including reserves. This is
about three times its size on the evening of the Lebanese civil war in 1975.
The Lebanese army today has a far greater number of military equipment and far
better equipment than it did in 1975, but it still needs a lot of improvement
in this area.
The most importatn difference however is that the Army is better integrated
along confessional lines, a product of Lahoud.
The Lebanese Army is more than capable of securing the entire country if the
need arise. It would not be a match to the Israeli War Machine but it is more
than capable of keeping internal security if need be.
If Syria and Israel were to withdraw their troops from Lebanon today, I believe
the Lebanse Army could take over instantly. I believe it would be fully capable
of establishing peace and tranquility in the South.
I would however advise that the take over occurs in stages. This would be
especially needed in the South. If Israel suddenly withdraws she will leave a
vaccum behind which could see increased violence as some fear. I do not know
whether this will actually happen, but I do not think we should take any
chances. I would want to see Lebanese soldiers filling Israeli and SLA
positions immediately upon their departure. The Lebanese Army should in any
event be on the alert and its intelligence must work deligintly to keep abreast
of the situation in the South. The Army must not waste one single moment upon
Israel sudden withdrawal.
The event of both Syria and Israel leaving Lebanon would form a fundamental
victory for the Lebanese people as a whole. An Independent Lebanon is a much
stronger Lebanon. It's a Lebanon were every thing is possible.
Let us pray for that day to come. But while we pray, let the Lebanese people
work together to continue rebuilding the country and improving life for all.
Note that it is my strong belief that the key for the withdrawal of both Syria
and Israel lies in the unity among the Lebanese people. There is nothing else
in the world that would bring about their departrure. Trust me!
Lubnani

But every disagreement with you on an issue is taken as an insult. Even those
that agree with you on most points if they disagree on a few minor points are
insulted by you and cursed at. How do you expect to listen, or is everyone
supposted to quote you word for word in robotic union as gospel?
You have to be willing to accept that you can be wrong at times in fact or your
approach. Yes you have said you will not curse and swear but in the nest post
you are back to your old ways. Repent on Sunday and drunk on Monday, but of
course you are not christian so perhaps it should be ......mosque on Friday
morning, fight before noon, return to prayer, lie/falsehood before dusk, again
return to prayer, dream of killing and rape (or other depraved sexual
act).......... You don't let it end. You don't even really try.

Even the best of armies can not prevent acts of terrorism, madmen and fanatics
unless the government in some way opresses it's people and prevents the
movement and speach of it's citizens. Even that can fail.
Any attack would and could constitue a treat by the Israeli and provoke them to
either attack back of try to reoccupy the south. How do you totally supress
the random acts of individuals without the cooperation of the majority of the
people and hope that any plans and threats would be reported before hand and
prevented. The people have to want to work for the betterment of the country
and not out of individual vendettas or agendas.
We may not be able to guarantee no attacks but we can cooperate and publicly
make a stand against any attacks and take direct action to prevent them inorder
to bring a mutual trust with Israel. Give them a good reason to want to
peacefully withdraw and stay out of Lebanon with and force of arms.
Some cooperation by us and the Israeli for what we both want, Israeli soldiers
out of the south of Lebanon. Peace.

I believe when you are referring to acts of terrorism you are
pointing to our brothers, the resistance in Hezbollah, I would deduce this
from your past posts, but there is a possibility you have changed. Some
will repeat what CNN says and call the people of the south terrorists.
Now, using your argument that "unless the government in some way
oppresses its people and resticts certain movments and the speech of its
citizens somewhat, it can fail". I just reworked what you said so it would
read a bit better and convey what I believed you were trying to say.
However, is that not what people are accusing Syria of, i.e. restricting
the LF and pro-American groups in the Lebanon and those who are more
anti-Syria than Israel, who would say well Syria occupies 85% of the
Lebanon and Israel only 15%. They are not oppressing the general
Lebanese, but certain elements.
I do agree with Lubnani in his arguments, he and I are basically
on the same wavelenght, I feel, but have different facon a parler.
The Syrian and Israeli armed forces should eventually leave. The Lebanese
Army is quite strong, can defend its borders, but must be given proper
notice, and the focus is the state of Israel. We are not interested in
having the state of Israel to trust Lebanese, since they are the invaders,
who created this mess in the first place, had Palestinians, in violation
of international law, not return. They are not asked to do a favour, just
apply international law resolution 425. You are assuming Hezbollah will
fire at Israel after they withdraw. That is the Israeli argument, not
what the Lebanese government accepts as a response. The Lebanese
do not owe the Israeli occupiers anything. Hezbollah was created in
response to the Israeli invasion. The state of Israel invaded
the Lebanon not because of the attacks of the PLO, because the PLO was
weak militarily, not a real threat, but because she did not want to
negotiate a withdrawal from the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and Gaza.
The war named "peace for the Galilee or Shalom Ha Galil" should be
renamed the "war to maintain the West Bank and not apply UN
resolution 242".
Let us not be duped by the American and Israeli story that
places us Arabs as the criminals rather than the victims
and end the sanctions against Iraq. Work together.

Syria entered Lenbanon to save Franjeyyeh' sbutt, you know it. TRghe Palestinian
fporces were yard away from Aluhden. He called assd to come and Syria came. Syria
saved the lebanese presidency untouchable so Lebanon will at least survive as a
state.

He was stupid enough to forward serious threat to my life, I know he did not
mean it, but a man must be respinsib;le for his action.
. His name has been filed and forwarded to the right channel. Next I will
have to make sure I will silence him on the net ( at least under his name).
I will put him on his knees. But you may gain a lot. Ad you see him, he
starts to freak, I know those cowards, i have experience with them , they
can run but they can not hide.
BTW, during the entire process you will be communicated with me with by third
pray, everything will be guaranteed and clear.
I know Ahmad alameer poersonally, I was much younger at that
time. I was near between Jibatta AlZait and Jibatta
Alkhashab ( Durzi towns) and then I was moved to Mas3adeh
and then to Khan Arbnabeh.
The fall of Aljoulan was due to some cowrad offeciars, few
coward caused us this Nakbeh. All were punished.
The Syrian soldier is one of the best but nobody to blame
but the tactical officiars, they did not want die. They
gave wrong orderr, none of them was traitor, but simply
cowards.
Look at your name "Dahab" does it tell you anything?> am not trying to impose
Arabism on you, but it runs in our blood, we think and act the same way , what
hurt you hurts me, we love the same country and eat the same food. dance on the
same music ( I do not dance) . but a you see. \=, something is uniting us, not
only the ME, but I call it arabism, and that is not necessarily have to do a lot
with saudi arabia.

The question is, is the Lebanese army willing to guard the southern
border? If it is, then I don't know why it hasn't done so this far. Since
this is the main condition for Israel to pack up and leave, the Lebanese
army (and it's political mentors) can arguably be charged with
"non-assistance à personnes en danger", where the endangered people are
all inhabitants of the south.

No sir, you have to look at the rate. You are the minority, and your number of
traitors outnumber the Muslims comparing with your population. Also, do not
forget the nature of khuyanah. You Saad Haddad and Anton Lahd sold almost all SL,
Basheer sold all Lebanon and gave it as a nice apple ti Sharoon. That is in one
hand, on the other hand the Christians in Lebanon are behind the biggest amount of
bloodshed in Lebanese history. The biggest massacres was committed by Christians,
especially the maronites.
So, true we have Muslim traitors, but if you look per capita, and compare the
number with Christians, no one can surpass Christians. They are second d to none
in betrying Lebanon and Arab country.
The Muslim nation have to live another 200 years to produce one traitor like
Basheer Jemayyel or saad Haddad.
I do not know if you know that Basheer is documented was under the CIA payroll. I
can prove it to you if you have np access to any archive.

I love the Dabkeh and almejanah, but I do not dance as these khawalat do in Omro

because they are Muslims and the Christians wrere connected to the Israeli

I know the Palestinians had their mistakes, we all have our mistakes. But no
one dared to kill his countrymen as the Maronites did. They used the
Palestinians banner in order to yfeshu albun bil misilmeen. They wanted to
kill as much Muslim Lebanese a as they y could. and they did. The maronites
did kill a lot of Palestinians, but hey killed more lebanese than
Palestinians. they killed a lot of Sunnah., Shia and Druz. I remember
ma3arek Aljabal in Sou' algharb w 3aleih. If it was up to the Maronites in
Lebanon, not a single Muslim would have stayed alive now. I hope Taha is
reading these words.
Our problem is that we have a kind heart, albna tayyeb and we forget very
quick.
Taha is acting as an idiot, tries to show his "civility" to those who hate
him and killed his people during the war.

1: Alain, for the Lebanese Army to effectively "guard the southern"
it would need to fight out the agressors: the Israelis. Since we know that
the Israeli Army is the strongest army in the region, being that US
financial and military assets back it up, the Lebanese Army is not up to
the task to guard against Israel.
On the "Lebanese army .. charged with 'non-assistance à personnes en danger',
where the endangered people are all inhabitants of the south" have you
considered where the danger is coming from? Not from all the inhabitants of
the South, guess again. Not from the Lebanese Army, guess again. Syria?
you could make the case.. What's really endangering the South Lebanon
population is Israel, itself. Since we know that the Lebanese Army is not
up to guarding against Israel, ... goto 1 :)

W.A.S.P.'s are the majority. Most people vote for those that share their
views and have similar goal for the future. If there are several candidates
that have possitive platforms then they will pick the one most like them, if
religion is a stong issue with the voter then they will go with the one with
the most similar religion.
Religion is not the first or even the most important reason, but it can be a
factor somewhere down the line in their choice. Just like making a check
list, the one with the most checks gets the vote.
