เพราะเพิ่งทราบเมื่อปีที่ผ่านมา
จากการที่ลูกเขยทำซีดีเพลงประวัติราชกุล
“เศษฐาธิราช”
เผยแพร่ในสหรัฐ
และหนองคาย
สำหรับความคืบหน้ากรณีคนร้ายใช้อาวุธปืนยิง
ท้าวอนุวงศ์ เศษฐาธิราช
อายุ 50 ปี และ นางอุไรวรรณ
เศษฐาธิราช อายุ 37 ปี
สองสามี-ภรรยา ชาว ส.ป.ป.ลาว
เสียชีวิต

ตามหลังลูกสาวมาเยี่ยมญาติที่ประเทศไทย
มาสอบสวน

ให้การกับเจ้าหน้าที่ตำรวจในเบื้องต้น
ว่า ตนและลูกสาว
เป็นคนสองสัญชาติ ไทย -
อเมริกัน
อาศัยอยู่ที่ประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกา
มานานกว่า 27 ปีแล้ว
โดยมีภูมิลำเนาเดิมอยู่ที่
อ.ศรีเชียงใหม่ จ.หนองคาย
การที่ลูกสาวและสามี
ซึ่งเป็นลูกเขยของตน
เดินทางกลับมาเมืองไทยครั้งนี้
ได้มาเยี่ยมญาติพี่น้อง
ที่ อ.ท่าบ่อ และ
อ.ศรีเชียงใหม่ จ.หนองคาย
และได้นำคอมพิวเตอร์ไปมอบให้โรงเรียนในถิ่นทุรกันดารของทั้งสองอำเภอ
ส่วนสาเหตุของการตายของลูกสาวและลูกเขย
ตนไม่ทราบจริง ๆ ว่า
เกิดจากอะไร และยืนยันว่า
นางอุไรวรรณ ลูกสาวของตน
ไม่ได้เป็นเชื้อพระวงศ์ของประเทศลาวแน่นอน
ในส่วนของ ท้าวอนุวงศ์

ตนเพิ่งทราบเมื่อปี 2548 ว่า
เป็นคนมีเชื้อสายพระราชวงศ์ของประเทศลาว
โดยลูกเขยได้ทำเพลงหมอลำชุด
“หมอลำข้ามโลก ชุด
ตามรอยพระแก้วมรกต”
ซึ่งเป็นซีดีเพลงเกี่ยวกับประวัติราชสกุล
“เศษฐาธิราช” ของลูกเขย
และได้นำออกเผยแพร่ที่สหรัฐอเมริกา
เมื่อเดินทางกลับเมืองไทย
ก็นำมาแจกจ่ายเผยแพร่ให้ญาติพี่น้องที่จังหวัดหนองคายด้วย
“แต่จะเป็นเชื้อพระวงศ์ของลาวจริงๆ
หรือไม่นั้นไม่ทราบแน่ชัด”

They are just leeches on society that expects every one to bow down
before them, even though they themselves haven't done squatt for the
citizens, their father may have, but they haven't. They have only
leeched off of their father's legacy and the goodness of the people.

If this news is true. I'm not surprise at all that he and his wife were
assassinated. Chao Anuvong is not some name or someone to be taken lightly
especially in Thailand...those who think otherwise and playing with such
name will meet his/her fate.

A Lao-American couple living in North Carolina and claiming to be
members of a Lao royal family were shot to death Wednesday in
northeastern Thailand, police said.
Anouwong Sethathirath IV and Oulayvanh Sethathirath, 49 and 38
years old respectively, were killed at a Buddhist monastery in Nong
Khai, near the border with Laos, said police Lt. Jeerawat Thammasorn,
who was unwilling to give any further details about the victims.
No arrests or suspects have been announced in the case.
A Web site operated by the couple, http://www.sethathirath.com,
identifies Anouwong as a prince and Oulayvanh as a princess, and says
that Sethathirath is the royal line of Laos' Sisattanakhanahut kingdom,
also known as Lan Xang.
The couple resided in Fairview, N.C., a suburb of Asheville,
according to newspaper accounts. Both were U.S. citizens.
Lt. Jeerawat said they were shot a a pavilion at the monastery
at about 10 a.m. The Thai television station ITV reported that
witnesses said that gunmen wearing coats and black sunglasses walked
into the pavilion and killed them. Nong Khai is 320 miles north of
Bangkok.
The couple was not directly related to Savang Vatthana, the
last king of Laos, who was forced to abdicate his throne after a
communist takeover of his country in 1975. The Sethathirath family last
ruled a part of Laos in the 19th century.
According to a profile of the couple published earlier this
month in the Asheville Citizen-Times newspaper, they were to attend a
cultural conference in Thailand this month for the Lan Xang people, and
had frequently visited Thailand, especially the northeast, whose
residents are ethnically related to the Lao.
The newspaper said that Anouwong, the descendant of the
Sethathirath line and who also has the Western name Phillip McRowan,
married Oulayvanh, also known as Ashley, in 1987. It said that Anouwong
worked as a pathologist's assistant in a local hospital, while
Oulayvanh was studying for a degree in international studies at the
University of North Carolina in Asheville.
Although some refugees from Laos have been involved in violent
activities against the country's communist government, the couple was
not known to be involved with them. Most exiled members of the late
king Savang Vatthana live in France.

for buddha's sake, if they can kill chao anouvong, how can they
tolerate anything that relates to him...especially in their own soil?

playing with fire. neither them siamese nor the lanxang white parasol

It must be the result of the matai of your Laodeng blacklist. We just
make joke about him and Naiphon Kong Le awhile ago. Your left hand
people are too blood thirsty. Tell your boss that he will go to hell
for killing this prince. I believe it is not the blood thirsty of
Thailand but Laos instead.

In present Thailand closer to have a civil war, the Tsunami,
the Hmuslim independent state, the drought, the flood,
the FTA, the Sonthi Pigthongkoun and now the Som-Ok
added, no doubt about it any frustrated Thai citizen

a lot Lao Esarn, CD after Phrakeo, claim to be descendent of Anouvong!.
My opinion is Siamese who did this to him, is it so obvious!

it is a long story...very very long story with plots and subplots and
plenty of material to make sequel movies.
the short version goes like this: chao anouvong was king of vientiane
around the early 1800s. he was sick of seeing them siamese mistreating
his own fellow lao who worked like dogs for them siamese doing all
kinds of chores like diggging canals around bangkok as forced labor.
after seeing all of that crap while he was a top general doing the
military stuff for them siamese kings he returned vowing to come back
with an army to liberate his own country men from the hands of the
siamese tugs and beat the crap of them ****ing siamese.
he raised an army and tried to fulfill his promise only to see his
dream crushed by a bigger and more experienced siamese army. his army
was crushed battle after battle for the fact that a part of the siamese
army were well-equipped with guns and stuff besides the usual swords,
elephants, bows and arrows. chao anouvong also counted on them brits to
invade siam from burma but it never materialized for them siamese had
somehow managed to appease them brits thus able to throw the full force
of their army against chao anouvong's army.
after this crushing defeat he tried a few things like trying to get
some viet and chinese help but it was too late. he was captured by a
laophuan guy and sent to bangkok where he was tortured like putting in
a cage for all to see right in the big field in downtown bangkok. he
died like a dog so to speak. he's a giant among us albeit a tragic
figure in the lao history.
he wanted to do something good for his fellow countrymen but the tide
of history was totally against him.
now you see that them siamese will never want to hear anything having
to do with chao anouvong especially anybody claiming to be a descendant
and going all over the place in thailand and especially the eesan
region saying this doing that like som-ock siharath did for the past
two-three years.
