The result will be higher state taxes.
Bah-but but I thought Hussein was going to cut taxes on 95% of us.

Yeah. Clinton said the same thing and then put through a huge tax
increase with his Democratic Congress..
I left the Democratic Party 15 years ago. I now vote straight GOP.
If you find anybody who believes what the Democrats say, let me know-I
want to sell him the Grand Canyon.
> Yeah. Clinton said the same thing and then put through a huge tax
> increase with his Democratic Congress..
Yep, said he was going to cut taxes on the middleclass but when he got in
office he said that he just couldn't do it because the deficit was just too
large even though it was smaller than he said during the campaign. Man, the
guy could spin a yarn like no other. That's what the democrats admired about
him so. Liberalism needs a good liar to promote it and Billy boy was their
man.
> I left the Democratic Party 15 years ago. I now vote straight GOP.
Wondered off the plantation, huh?
> If you find anybody who believes what the Democrats say, let me know-I

They don't care if they lie, just so long as they get their government
cheese.

Dick Morris is to reliable reporting what Morris the Cat is to
reliable reporting.
Medicaid is jointly funded by the states and the federal government,
and federal Medicaid expenditures will be increased. Moreover, states
will collect higher income taxes from the insurance companies as their
incomes will go up due to the increase in subscribers. There might be
some additional burden on the states, but it's not the catastrophe
that Morris presents.
> Bah-but but I thought Hussein was going to cut taxes on 95% of us.
And he did. The "Making Work Pay" tax cut provided by the stimulus
plan provided a $400 per individual or $800 per family tax cut for
those earning less than $95K individually or $190K jointly. I'm
enjoying my extra money on each paycheck. Are you?
Which tax increase was that? Bush 41 put through a tax increase in
the 1990 budget. Clinton's Omnibus budget reconciliation cut taxes
for low income and small businesses and only raised taxes on the top
1.2 percent of earners. He also signed the Taxpayer Relief Act of
1997 which created the child tax credit, reduced capital gains, and
created exemptions for home sales, estate taxes, farms and small
business, and education.
So, where exactly did Clinton put through a "huge tax increase?"
> I left the Democratic Party 15 years ago. I now vote straight GOP.
Because nothing has changed in either the Democratic or Republican
party in the last 15 years?
Even the Democrats admit they will have to raise taxes to pay for the
plan.That won't happen until 2010.
Independent groups have estimated the average insurance cost to
families under Obamacare will be $15,000 per year.
Lucky for me, I am a Navy veteran and I get free healthcare through
the VA. The VA care I get is much better than any private insurance I
ever had. Screw Obama and his damn plan.
Stimulus, my ass. The unemployment rate nationally is 10.2% and
rising, then highest it's been in 26 years.
The stimulus money went out in July and still unemployment is going
up.
The only people who will get jobs under Obama are the bureaucrats who
run his public option. That we will pay for with our taxes.
Top 1.2% my ass. I only made $32,000 a year in those days and my taxes
went up a whole bunch.
The only tax reduction I got was from GW Bush.
Your Democratic propaganda doesn't jive with the facts of my life.
Even Clinton admitted he raised taxes"too much".
And they are working to limit tax increases so that it doesn't affect
the middle class. So how is this inconsistent with Obama's pledges?
> Independent groups have estimated the average insurance cost to
> families under Obamacare will be $15,000 per year.
Citation needed.
> Lucky for me, I am a Navy veteran and I get free healthcare through

You mean, you participate in government run socialized medicine? How
dare you!
> Stimulus, my ass. The unemployment rate nationally is 10.2% and
> rising, then highest it's been in 26 years.
Yes... unemployment rate is a lagging indicator. Leading indicators
are trending positive and job creation is expected during Q1 2010.
This has all been discussed before. Do try to keep up.
> The stimulus money went out in July and still unemployment is going
> up.
The stimulus money *began* to go out in July. It wasn't all expelled
into the economy in one shot. It will be doled out through the end of
2010. The stimulus has created and or saved job, but its full impact
has not been reached.
> The only people who will get jobs under Obama are the bureaucrats who
> run his public option. That we will pay for with our taxes.
God forbid the government directly employ people.
This isn't a question of propaganda, this is a question of what's in
the record. Can you show the piece of legislation or budget
resolution that increased your taxes?
According to the Tax Foundation, your taxes did not change from 1998
until 2001. If you were earning 32K, then the first marginal bracket
would have been taxed at 15% and the second marginal bracket at 28%.
These rates did not change, and moreover the amount that fell under
the first marginal bracket increased from $17,850 in 1988 to $26,250
in 2000. As a result, taxes paid on $32K in 1988 would have been
$6640 and would have dropped each year to $5547 by 2000. (http://
www.taxfoundation.org/publications/show/151.html)
So, what made your taxes increase?
The middle class is most taxpayers. That's bull. They can't finance a
billion dollar program with a small tax increase.

It's a fringe benefit of my military service. I worked for it and
earned it.
Every vet with 2 years or more of active duty gets it.
I had 6 years in the Navy.Only veterans get it. It's not socialized
anything.
Who cares? I know my taxes went up beginning in 1995.
I'm an accountant. I believe dollars when I see them and not before.
My salary did not change. Only the taxes did.
It's a government run plan with government facilities and government
doctors paid for with tax dollars given freely to veterans. It is the
type of care they have in Britain as the entire medical system is paid
for by the government. If that isn't socialized medicine, then what
is? Now, you claim that you've paid in for it with your service and
thus you are entitled to it. You won't find argument from me, but you
also claim it's better than any private plan you've ever had, so you
admit that the government can run a health care system better than
private industry, so why is it that the government shouldn't provide a
public option if it has the potential to be as good as the VA?
I see you've made an unmarked snip of the link that shows you're
incorrect and the math that backs it up. Can you explain why my math
is incorrect, or what's missing in the Tax Foundation data that caused
your taxes to go up beginning in 95 when marginal rates did not
change?
I think you've convinced yourself that the Democrats raised taxes when
in fact they clearly did not.
VA care is only available to vets, a relatively small community
compared to the entire nation.
There are no illegal immigrants among us and no cheaters.
We have no drug addicts or people on welfare. The doctors are
government employees on salary. They don't take Medicare. It's a
completely different situation.
WRONG. I don't care what the Tax foundation claims. I know what my tax
returns showed and how my net pay changed.
I'm an accountant. I believe the numbers I see on my check and my tax
return, not some estimate or projection from some political hacks.
Projections and estimates are not part of accounting and never will
be. We accountants deal in real numbers, not political bullshit.
These aren't "claims." These are the facts about what the marginal
tax rates were during that time. If your taxes went up, then I'm not
clear how it happened.
> I'm an accountant. I believe the numbers I see on my check and my tax
> return, not some estimate or projection from some political hacks.
This isn't an estimate or projection. This is historical data. You
said that earning 32K your taxes went way up. I submit that is
impossible based on the marginal tax rates. Naturally I won't ask you
to post your tax statements, but perhaps you could point to the piece
of legislation that caused your taxes to go up.
> Projections and estimates are not part of accounting and never will
> be. We accountants deal in real numbers, not political bullshit.
The facts are not political bullshit.
According to the census there are aboute 25 million veterans in the
US. If you feel this is a small number, then I'm glad to hear you say
it. I expect that you'll support moving 25 million of the currently
uninsured into a VA like system.
> There are no illegal immigrants among us and no cheaters.
There is 0 fraud in the VA system?
> We have no drug addicts or people on welfare.
There are no drug addicts in the VA? There are no welfare recipients
in the VA?

> The doctors are

So, what you're describing is a nationalized system like they have in
Britain. The doctors are government employees on salary and
treatments are paid for by the government. And you say this is better
than any private plan and it serves 25 million people.
Why shouldn't we have a public option again?
>
> Yeah. Clinton said the same thing and then put through

Ushering in a period of no inflation, the longest &
deepest economic growth AND the elimination of the
budget deficit...
Outrage! Everyone knows the way to go is to spend $700 billion annually
on "defense", which is more than the ten other military-overspending
countries *combined*, waste over $1 trillion on unnecessary wars, and at
the same time, cut as many taxes as possible.
That way, the richest 1% of this country get to amass even more wealth
and when they take a shit on us, some of it drizzles down our throats if
we open wide enough.

Oh... my... god... can you be any more stupid?
What is it that you're arguing to begin with? It is amazing how the
loudest douchebags shouting against the universal health insurance are
those who enjoy all the benefits of having it, without paying fuck all
for it.
> VA care is only available to vets, a relatively small community
> compared to the entire nation.
And this proves what exactly? If anything, it can only be more costly
per person than the universal healthcare and considering this is the
army we're dealing with, it moer than likely is.
> There are no illegal immigrants among us and no cheaters.
Illegal immigration has fuck all to do with healthcare and as for "no
cheaters", you'd have to be a total moron to believe that.
> We have no drug addicts or people on welfare.
What fucking bullshit! Streets are filled with homeless veterans who are
on drugs and either on welfare or costing the society even more than if
they were just on welfare.
> The doctors are
> government employees on salary. They don't take Medicare. It's a
> completely different situation.
Yes, in that this is something you consider your right and whoever else
doesn't have healthcare can go fuck himself.
> Projections and estimates are not part of accounting and never will
> be. We accountants deal in real numbers, not political bullshit.
Says the moron who thinks he "got a tax cut from GWB".
