Yep, said he was going to cut taxes on the middleclass but when he got in
office he said that he just couldn't do it because the deficit was just too
large even though it was smaller than he said during the campaign. Man, the
guy could spin a yarn like no other. That's what the democrats admired about
him so. Liberalism needs a good liar to promote it and Billy boy was their
man.

Medicaid is jointly funded by the states and the federal government,
and federal Medicaid expenditures will be increased. Moreover, states
will collect higher income taxes from the insurance companies as their
incomes will go up due to the increase in subscribers. There might be
some additional burden on the states, but it's not the catastrophe
that Morris presents.

And he did. The "Making Work Pay" tax cut provided by the stimulus
plan provided a $400 per individual or $800 per family tax cut for
those earning less than $95K individually or $190K jointly. I'm

Which tax increase was that? Bush 41 put through a tax increase in
the 1990 budget. Clinton's Omnibus budget reconciliation cut taxes
for low income and small businesses and only raised taxes on the top
1.2 percent of earners. He also signed the Taxpayer Relief Act of
1997 which created the child tax credit, reduced capital gains, and
created exemptions for home sales, estate taxes, farms and small
business, and education.

Lucky for me, I am a Navy veteran and I get free healthcare through
the VA. The VA care I get is much better than any private insurance I
ever had. Screw Obama and his damn plan.

rising, then highest it's been in 26 years.
The stimulus money went out in July and still unemployment is going
up.
The only people who will get jobs under Obama are the bureaucrats who

Top 1.2% my ass. I only made $32,000 a year in those days and my taxes
went up a whole bunch.
The only tax reduction I got was from GW Bush.

Yes... unemployment rate is a lagging indicator. Leading indicators
are trending positive and job creation is expected during Q1 2010.

into the economy in one shot. It will be doled out through the end of
2010. The stimulus has created and or saved job, but its full impact
has not been reached.

According to the Tax Foundation, your taxes did not change from 1998
until 2001. If you were earning 32K, then the first marginal bracket
would have been taxed at 15% and the second marginal bracket at 28%.
These rates did not change, and moreover the amount that fell under
the first marginal bracket increased from $17,850 in 1988 to $26,250
in 2000. As a result, taxes paid on $32K in 1988 would have been

It's a fringe benefit of my military service. I worked for it and
earned it.
Every vet with 2 years or more of active duty gets it.
I had 6 years in the Navy.Only veterans get it. It's not socialized

It's a government run plan with government facilities and government
doctors paid for with tax dollars given freely to veterans. It is the
type of care they have in Britain as the entire medical system is paid
for by the government. If that isn't socialized medicine, then what
is? Now, you claim that you've paid in for it with your service and
thus you are entitled to it. You won't find argument from me, but you
also claim it's better than any private plan you've ever had, so you
admit that the government can run a health care system better than
private industry, so why is it that the government shouldn't provide a
public option if it has the potential to be as good as the VA?
