Word meaning: Schpilkus?

I friend finished a message to me with this closing:

Schpilkus...Lyn

No one I have asked knows the meaning of this word,
but several folks have assured me it is Yiddish. If
anyone knows the meaning of "schpilkus", or whether
it is really a word, I would appreciate the insight.

"Shpilkes in tuches" is what I get after
I work for the same company for more than a
year.

Or "antsy" as in having ants in your pants. (needles in the butt.)

It denotes the inability to sit still. This makes sense given the
deriviation and literal meaning which others have described as pins and
needles where you sit.

Thanks to those who responded to this question,
both in email and as a followup post. The context,
which I should have included, was that the message
was from a close friend that am visiting this week.
So the "on pins and needles", "antsy", and "can't
sit still" definitions make perfect sense, implying
(I hope) some anticipation of our visit.

Schpilkus means pins. Usually it's used as part of an expresion for
someone who can't wait. "S'he's sitting on shpilkus". That would
explain its use at the end of a message.

I hate "Linda Richman." Even more since I saw Linda Richman on the Rose
O'Donnell show. The woman is, well, not someone I would want the
uninitiated to think of as representative....

Having grown up in a heavily Italian and Jewish neighborhood, Boro Park, Brooklyn, and often serving as a Shabbos Goy,I think I have a handle on this one as I have often heard it used in a sentence. Schpilkus actually translates more directly idiomatically into the Italian word "acedo" meaning acid fully meaning acid indigestion caused by somebody being so annoying and troublesome to have around making you antsy to get away. "Stop it Howard! You're giving me such schpilkus, I can't take it any more!" This may also explain why I have seen schpilkus as meaning needles as well....as in pain-causing. I am sure it is a Yiddish word. I find myself using them as well more than I realize. If you use them in many parts of the country, you will get faces that first frown and go blank on you.

Also true.
Yiddish is a very colorful language and a lot of words depend on inflection
or situation for comprehension.

In Season 26: Episode 11 of the Simpsons, which aired on 01/11/15; guest starring Stacy Keach- Homer complains of an experience that is causing "a weird new feeling in my stomach; a little sour, a little sick", in which Marge replies to, by telling him "There's a Yiddish word for it; "schpilkus"". Homer then responds with disparaging wonderment; "They have a lot of funny words, for not so funny things"!

I hope that it was worth waiting for. Schpilkus is like anxiety, waiting for the doctor to come out and tell you the extent of your illness, sitting on pins and needles - waiting on line for concert tickets with the likliehood that when they get to you, the guy in front of front of you got the last tickets, a result of which you were increasingly concerned.
